I appreciate your video for the visuals. But your tape trick will yield a different length of pull than you had with the original stock.
Thank you. Yes, I agree. I had to loosen the screw and move the stock toward the receiver to get the length of pull he wanted. The tape provided me a starting point where the screw engaged one of the holes in the buffer tube.
Do you know if I'm able to just replace the lines?
If it is the rubber portion of the line that failed, yes, simply replace it with a similar size rubber fuel line. If the metal line has failed, it looks to me like the whole unit must be replaced.
Sweet
I am glad you like it.
Your advice is getting better all the time
Thank you. I am attempting to provide a public service.
We did this to our stair treads, and the front part kept lifting up and tripping us and our dogs.
The lady I did this for has not reported any issues. You may want to add a few staples or adhesive to the front edge.
Drill mine alil better not much
In my case, once the line was attached, it lubed the bar as it should and works great.
Great idea!
Thank you.
It is quite common in older homes to have the return air ran that way. I don’t believe it is code now as a fire can spread much easier. As long as the furnace has a filter at the furnace non of that dust will be entering your home. Great video to bring attention to something different.
Thank you for commenting and sharing your experience. It was a new observation for me.
Good content, well worth posting. I've always enjoyed finding things as I repair them . Be it old news papers and cigarette boxes or old building methods , looked like it worked apart from the split😂 shame it wasn't serviceable to clean out all the cat hair .. eeeeer
Thanks for commenting. She'll let the pros with a super sucker clean out the cat hair.
I saw this type of duct work a few years ago I was wondering how efficient it was compared to metal duct work? You got to love the 2 big holes drilled into the joist. I like the plywood and glue for the repair nice way to repair it !
I agree. In the video, I said I'd repair it with a chunk of 2x8. After more thought, I agree with your plywood solution. I will glue and screw 2 pieces of 3/4" plywood together and use glue and structural screws to attach the plywood sandwich to the floor joist.
Would this work on my 2005 Chevy suburban Tahoe 1500 5.3L V8 2wd?
Yes
You diagnose no baroil going to bar, but you proceeded to use it. I can understand the frustration for down time on saw, but why contribute to possible future malfunction by operating a faulty saw? It’s brand new, it makes no sense. You were in that much of a rush to use it. Steel on steel at a rapid speed heat up extremely quickly. Am I missing something? Isn’t this one of the first things a person learns when operating a dangerous Piece of equipment. Production errors happen all the time, but never as much as operator error. I hope you learned a valuable lesson
I did not suspect a brand new Husky saw would be defective. I initially thought maybe it needed to run a little bit to prime the system from the oil tank to the bar. In 45 years of using chainsaws, I had never seen this condition before.
What size rims and tires do you have. I want to switch over from turf tires but i dont know what size rim and tires. I called the dealership they didn't know either lol. I have a 1988 L2550 4x4
Front tires are 7-16, 11.2-24 on the rear. when I have questions like that, I google tractor data kubota l2550 and find sheets like this www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/001/2/9/1294-kubota-l2550-dimensions.html
@OldGuyDIY thank you so much! The turf tires a 44x18-20 on the rear and 28x8.5x15 on the front. I see the size I need now in the link saved me a lot of headache!
You are welcome.
One of my nylon clips broke when I put side pressure on it, so I was looking at some rubber coated brass snap hooks, but then I thought maybe there is a way to use paracord..... and here we are! I have a barrel of 100 foot parachute lines from old navy drones.
Great, I am glad this video helped. I've been attaching flags this way for years and it has worked well.
Noooo, I used double sided tape on mine
You must have better tape than I do. I tried that first.
@OldGuyDIY maybe
I was truly Blessed to retire with 42 years in the gas industry at age 61. Been retired for a year and a half now. First year was the hardest but after 62 and signing up for S.S. I’m doing well. Thanks for sharing your idea. Very helpful indeed. 👍🇺🇸
Thank you for commenting. Congratulations for retiring healthy and enjoying retirement.
I was surprised to see only one vulture. There are usually 3 or more together.
Me too. This vulture has a broken left wing and was apparently unable to migrate south with the flock. When I saw him on camera picking at the stomach lining, I suspected he was eating everything that may have any nutritional value at all. A few days later, I found evidence that a coyote had gotten him.
@@OldGuyDIY That's life in the wild. Every animal is a meal for a different animal. Just as God designed it.
Agreed
My 500 sportsman ATV Polaris engine is leaking gas from bottom. What could it be?
I don't know.
Should have cleaned it before disassembly.
I agree.
🎉😊❤😊
*They're all broken!* 😂
Buddy and I built your design. We added cut pool noodle to the edges of the long beam to minimize chaffing of the boat cover. Works Great!
Great. I am glad it is working well for you. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Will regular hex bolts work?
Yes, I believe so.
450 bushmaster is an awesome woods cartridge, ive dropped several with it. Last one i shot with the cartridge was high shoulder, through and through with a federal 300 grain jacketed soft point. No denying the power of the 450 bushmaster that's for sure.
My cousin shot a large Roosevelt Elk here in the NW of Oregon then the elk ran on to another landowners land and died so my cousin when into to retrieve the Elk and was seen by the landowner who called the cops then my cousin was arrested on felony trespassing charges because Oregon law is you get caught with a gun on land without permission is become a felony
I'm sorry to hear that. It seems a little extreme to call that a felony.
@@OldGuyDIY It is because of Oregon law getting caught on privet property with a gun and not having permission from the landowner is a class C felony. But the law in Oregon for class C felony means after 3 years the person can go through the expungement of the class C felony process.
Thank you for the explanation.
@@OldGuyDIY The law is still scarry that you could end up a felon just by accident you don't know who's land you are on
If you have not tried the On-X app. I highly recommend it. For $30 per year, it shows you every property line in the state you choose.
Wherw, can i get those new ones ?
Everywhere that sells sporting goods. Google Savage part number 55236, check on gundeals or call Savage directly.
@OldGuyDIY i need it in 30-06
It looks like the part number for the long action Savage Axis magazine is 55233. That magazine should fit your 30-06. If you are unsure, call Savage.
How did the paint hold up?
The barrel has a few rubs and scratches from use but looks good overall. No need to repaint it yet.
I’ve always been told Hawks, Eagles, and Owls only ate fresh killed meat. Guess I was told wrong. I have seen Eagle scavenging before. Good footage.
Thank you. Based on my experience, hawks and eagles prefer fresh meat but will scavenge from carcasses when food is more scarce. I posted some videos last year of bald eagles on deer carcasses. Here is a link to one of them. th-cam.com/video/H1ZGZsEekI8/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=OldGuyDIY
Just add hydro foil fins to motor. Run faster, plane quick and get way better fuel economy
I have a Doel Fin hydro foil on the motor. When duck hunting, I rarely have the opportunity to get on plane and run wide open so the ballast bucket up front still makes a big difference. Thank you for commenting.
Good information . Thank your.
You are welcome.
Pest got a reprieve 😂
Any chance that second row 60/40 you removed still around? I’m looking to do the opposite of what you did in this video.
No, those seats went into a friend's truck. I suggest checking your local salvage yard. In southern MI, LKQ is my go to place for second row seats. Good luck.
Thanks for the work! You made a very good review video for people into wildlife photography. Do you happen to have a following video? Thanks :)
I got a green key or tool for locking this rifle safety its been way over 20 years ago since i owned the rifle i just stumbled across the green key i am almost sure it goes to this model rifle if you can help me out just to ease my mind about it i really appreciate it to find out for sure find the key a new home to a new rifle if some one can help me with this question
I seen the key hole in your video c shape in the safety push button crazy shaped key for anything I ever seen but I had 2 keys to my rifle around 20 some years ago it was a great 22 never jammed ever shoot so great I miss it so long since I remember it finding the key for few days ago made me think about it thank you for the video it help me with the answer to it few days it's been bugging me lol thanks for reading
Remington used the green J shaped tool as a safety lock for many guns from 2002 to 2005. You can look at the safety button and if it has the J shaped female cut to accept the tool, you can use the tool if you like. You can see a picture of the J lock here; cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-5z5khjbdar/images/stencil/1280x1280/products/1646/7245/J-Lock_ISS_Key2__95275.1574893354.jpg?c=1?imbypass=on
So glad you were safe and not too much damage 😊
Thank you.
Um, right. The math, like the execution, works out. Thanks. DOUG out
Thank you your a life saver
You are welcome. I'm glad the video helped.
Good video. I am thinking about running a on/off switch to the starter wire in the steering column (ignition switch). What do you think?
Switching the power to the ignition switch should work as well as my technique. I was unsure or which wire to interrupt at the ignition switch so I took this route.
I swear my phone is listening to me. This is Dylan from Illinois, give me a call. I have a couple things to talk to you about.
The tm10 is a waste of money!
Hey! Did you figure out what to use for the frame of the blind? I'd love to build something like this.
Sweet!! Thanks buddy!!
You are welcome.
Man i just fixed mine up with 2 zip ties, my bracket on both doors where the clip sits broke but had a piece left so i put a ziptie on that piece that is left to hold the ziptie which will pull the clip in towards the door panel, didnt even have to tighten it much and it holds well, cut the extra ziptie sticking out and tucked it in with a flathead screwdriver and bam, the only issue was the lining of the switches was a bit off from the panel but i can glance over it
Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black is about $8-10 for a bottle. Ive used it on a handguard I had to cut down. 2-3 coats and it looks very close to the anodized finish (if you want to get fancier than sharpie).
Thank you. After I hit it with the Sharpie, I ordered some Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black. I'll try it when I receive it.
Nice video but you forgot to add an inline 10A fuse to replace the one you removed. Your circuit the way you wired it has no fuse, risking damaging other electrical components or causing fire
I did install an in line 10 amp fuse, as mentioned in the video and written in the description.
I'm having the same problem.. thanks a lot for the video
You are welcome.
0:27 - “so we don’t get the headlights messed up.” - That happens AFTER you delete the sides of your brush guard! 😂
Dude… at least add a replacement fuse in series with your kill switch. That fuse had a purpose.
There is a 10 amp fuse in line.
CRITTER etymology : creature created by God thou shalt not kill (creatures) deer, ducks, wild birds and mammals fish etc. "shoot" with a camera while alive no need to take its life force and take pictures of the poor killed creatures totally caveman mentality ! just saying to hunters.
Splice it into the wires that go to the fuse that way you will still have the fuse in line.
I was looking for a quick and dirty solution and installed a 10 amp fuse in line.
@OldGuyDIY ....I understand.
