Vaping is not harmless, but It's not the point here. The point is vaping is a safer alternative to cigarettes. You don't smoke now, don't vape. If you are a smoker why won't you switch to a less harmful option??? Why?? And why not encourage smokers to vape and then quit entirety? Why let them take greater damage rather than switching to vape?
Thank you doctor. A comprehensive explanation
My bf is in the hospital with a concussion
There do not seem to be any studies regarding the development of CRPS and any links to childhood emotional trauma and/or PTSD. Are there any current studies out there?
idk if anyone is ever gonna read this, but hi i was diagnosed with chiari when i was 13 and this really took a toll on my life because i am a cheerleader and this condition caused me excruciating pain whenever i practiced my sport. i did have to quit my sport for a little bit, but i am now 100% back and i dont regret getting the surgery at all. it was hard, painful, and depressing but im so blessed and happy to be back in my sport. please keep your head up and stay positive because i was terrified for my life but i am completely well and healthy. keep going, im proud of you❤
I got diagnosed with Chiari 4 years ago it is not fun!
What are the ingredients in vape only 3 pg,vg pg all things we eat and drink every day
I think the quality of the vape is a big factor most young ppl are smoking disposable vapes witch majority are not fda approved or regulated and illegal almost everywhere with double the nicotine content of a pack of ciggs. It's a double edge sword. The disposables vapes are proven to be worse and harder on the organs and body. I also from experience felt way worse vaping a disposable daily vs half a pack of cigarettes. The plus side of vape is the no tar and lung function as in you will breathe better yes. But it causes harm to lungs in other ways. I got a lung infection from vaping 7 weeks into it. And they are notorious for making u sick and given u headaches and bad side effects if done too often ...witch u jus don't get from cigarettes . .ur literal best method to consume nicotine is threw gum and lozengers and if u want to smoke occasionally or a few a day even .I find this to be a way better method. The idea that marijuana and nic vapes are perfectly fine and cigarette smokers are treated and looked at as aids patients in today's world is pitiful. None are good. All come with pros and cons. And it only really healthy doin zero. I do think the quality of vape finding one that is regulated is key if u want to vape and how often u hit it is key. Same for ciggs the frequency of how many a day u smoke is key. Somebody who smokes 6 a day vs 2 packs is like comparing apples and oranges....and even worse most the ppl from the past who smoked were ridiculously heavy smokers too . Many smoked 3'4' even 5 packs a day u can't compare a study to a half a pack a day smoker to somebody smoking 3-5 packs a day. Vaping is also similar I know ppl who go through a disposable vape in a day or 2 witch has to be really bad vs others it will last 10 days.....my experience I feel better smoking half a pack a day of ciggs then I do vaping a disposable that lasted a week . And do it way less
You wanna give any evidence ?
I have four brain aneurysms. Two very small and two very large. I normally am a very healthy person, hardly even suffer from a cold then one day, all the sudden I started to have this excruciating pain in the back off my head, my vision was blurred, vomiting occurred, I felt totally incapacitated. Then after an hour or so, it would ease up. After two weeks of these episodes I made appointment with my family physician, she listened to my concerns and symptoms and immediately sent me for a head and neck scan within 24 hrs she called with the shocking news... that I had four cerebral aneurysms two of which were large irregular (9mm and 10mm) enough to cause symptoms because they were pressing against tissue of my brain. They were very close to ruptured. I was sent directly to a fantastic neurosurgeon who performed a pteronial approach craniotomy for clipping of the two large aneurysms which saved my life. I call my symptoms my divine intervention so, when your body is trying to tell you something you better listen to it.
Lol don't even know long term effects from vaping. Well we know the long term effects from tobacco that's certain death. Lol
But by the way, stay away from disposable vapes, those difently are the worst in terms of harmness
Difently? Harmness? What is this language you speak
Everyone knows that vaping is not harmless but bro, between me keeping to constantly smoke cigarrates or start in vaping but not abusing it, is just better, its way better reduce the harmness chance to 5%
Its the people that smoke cigarettes that say vaping is worse and then describe what happened with the fake thc carts like okay dude you know it all

Oddly, I am demanding and wanting my brain surgery for Chiari malformation. I’ve been suffering so bad it’s debilitating me and I can’t work and I can’t function. There has to be hope and a solution and I can’t wait to talk to the surgeon this week.
Oh my gosh. SAME!!!! I can't swallow or carry anything anymore. I'm having my surgery on November 19th after rescheduling due to a broken leg. I pray you find a great neurosurgeon.
Your so under appreciated I know so much because you I’m so subbing
Mine was found totally by accident. Had a head injury and had a CT where it was noticed something was off and mri confirmed it. I'd had tinnitus and headaches for a long time before though and thought it was unrelated
Why didn't he slide? He had the first down already
I wonder the same thing. But that is Tua minds set when it comes to Playing football. Remember he trucked a Jets defender and they asked him the same thing and he said in the moment that's not what he is thinking.
This man should not be playing football. Quite frankly I'm amazed that the dolphins and the NFL aren't taking steps to try and force him into retirement. I really don't want to see this man die on the field or suffer major permanent brain damage.
Can I contact you please? My sister is currently terminally ill with this disease in Ireland. Thank you. Paul.
I have all of these in a debilitating amount and doctors treat me like I’m making up the pain even after going through the decompression surgery that made it even worse. I applied for disability but haven’t had any luck with it so far and I’ve been not able to work for over 2 years now. I hate my state 😪 apparently being in debilitating chronic pain isn’t enough for them, giving up at this point let’s just say it being easy would be an understatement. Are there states that have more recognition for Chiari? I did everything I was supposed to and now I don’t know what to do. Thinking is hard moving is hard and everyone around me is telling ME I can do more when I just can’t. Physically I can’t, and after dealing with pain for 3 years I can’t mentally either…
You are not alone
@@RiseOfPhoenyx Has your neurologist prescribed anything for pain?
I have epilepsy, adhd, ptsd and a TBI from a near fatal car accident. I woke up from a coma on 1200mg of neurontin 3 times a day. I’m so afraid of being on this medication. I’ve been a nurse for over 20 years and know if I ever have to come off of it, it’s going to be awful. My car accident was due to a seizure. I had 3 weeks with the inability to form or make new memories. Amnesia-essentially. I functioned, I’ve been told. I was oriented to person & family but confused otherwise. I went undiagnosed until I was 28 & found the definition of a focal aware seizure on GOOGLE. I had described my seizures to muuultiple doctors, including a well renowned neurosurgeon. No one knew what they were. I described them since I was in nursing school 8 years before diagnosis. I was pregnant when I was diagnosed bc after I found that definition, I insisted on an eeg. It was abnormal & started meds when my son was born. My first grand mal was when I was 31. My last was the car accident. I don’t even have a neurologist, right now. Only saw an epileptologist once, after my first grand mal. This TBI has not helped at all. Every day is hard.
ive had mild balance and coordination issues my whole life, have had headaches from couging and laughing too much my whole life. i've been diagnosed with chiari 1 and syringomyelia now at 35 after losing the sensation of temperature in my entire left arm and shoulder. dont know what comes next, but i dont want to lose more feeling but i also dont want brain surgery

i was diagnosed with chiari malformation when it was found accidentally when i was having a brain scan for lasting post concussive syndrome from a car accident at age 32.. growing up i delt with headaches and tennitis aswell as tingling n numbness in the legs aaswell as burning same with hands n pain in that "cape" like area he was talking about aswell as i get a wht i call lightning strikes that go from the base of my skull i have had things like botox, cortizone and other corticosterroids n nerve blocks etc until i literally couldnt take it n e more n even having bouts of stroke like symptoms but on the right side aswell as alot of nerve pain in that "cape" area the dr talks about in this video so my dr suggested a 1st through 4th occipital nerve ablation as i was having alot of nerve discomfort esp in the head and neck aswell as top of the back right below the neck where the neck meets the back i will also get a lump on the right side of my upper back about an inch or 2 from my spine n it was painfull so i went ahead n got the ablation against my better judgement of the research i had done i still decided to get it as i just wanted to b out of agony n b able to b an active mom again i mean i couldt even pick up my then 2 1/2 yr old son who has autism so i was hopeful id be able to pick up my son becuz of extreme weakness aswell as pain and pressure n migraine intesifies usually anytime i bend over or bend down.... i just wanted to b able to do things like go to the zoo or something like we used to before the accient caused my symptoms to get worse so i got the ablation n i had to b awake n actually started to go tachycardic becuz of the severe pain n shock the dr had to give me a high dose of fentanyl aswell as nitroglycerine n that surgeries was exactly what i feared NOT ONLY DID IT NOT HELP WITH MY PAIN it increased my pain by 80% now im trying to get in with a new surgeon/dr to see about having decompression surgery becuz this is just become unbarable tbh its depressing im a 35 yr old woman n im in pain or agony more days of the month than im not.. i dont wish chiari on anyone. my son is 8 n has autism n he has to b checked becuz we think he may have it too which woud break my heart becuz i didnt know about me having chiari until my son was almost 3 so nothing i could do at that point but hes been having alot of headaches and neckpain so i just m so fearful. when i was his age n had the pain burning and numbness in the arms n legs n my dr sent me to get a emg (nerve conduction test) but it was the torturous on where they use a needle to pierce the skin the get to the nerve ending then add electrical stimulation straight to the nerve that was HELLLLLLL n thats all he did never followed up with anymore tests i truly feel chiari its well know n it should b!!!! i cant tell u how many drs lied to me when i ask if they r familiar with it he said yes n then i proceed to say ok so what do u know about it just so i know how familiar u r with it (incase he needed me to catch him up) n then he says im sorry what was it called again then i tell them n he says oh no im sorry i thought u said something different like ok dude u just didnt want a patient to feel ur not able to do ur job properly so u lie n play it cool but then the second u get outa the room ur on google brushing up on what it is n symptoms etc like no gtfoh ive literally have had 3 different drs pretend to know when they didnt
I was diagnosed today

Does anyone else have a flare up when they are sick? I’m getting over something and all of a sudden my heart will start pounding and I get so much anxiety. I’m always at the point of calling 911 but I put my feet up and try to relax and it goes away. I’ve learned not to drink coffee daily and to stop it all together when I’m sick but this time I haven’t had coffee for at least 4 days.

What's the name of this series?
Thank you for the wonderful presentation, doc! I'm a 52 year old male and have had seizures since I was 13 after a head injury. Luckily I don't have them while I'm fully awake, they always strike when I'm in the twilight phase of light sleep. The weird thing is I am fully aware I'm having a seizure and can hear what's going on around me, such as the TV. I hope that one day I'll be a candidate for a surgical procedure if they can determine where my seizures are coming from. Although it's not yet FDA approved for Epilepsy, I would love to hear your thoughts on focused ultrasound for ablation. There's also a company called Neurona Therapeutics that provides stem cells to surgeons who then surgically insert the cells into the seizure site. Apparently the early results have been very promising. Again, thanks for the excellent presentation.
