So touched by the numerous thoughts and prayers you all are sending over the Altlantic. Your support is unbelievable. I am humbled by your love. Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my aching heart. Thank you from my Mom who is in awe of how much this church community cares.

It is so soothing and uplifting to watch the virtual service. Thank you for doing this for those of us who cannot be present.

Friends, I taped this service on Wednesday 5.27 before the fullness of the MInnesota protests came to light. If I had delivered this sermon or written my Pastoral Prayer, revising it as in days of old on Saturday night and Sunday morning, you can be sure I would have tried to address this difficult and horrific development. Please read this offering from Krista Tippett. ... our hearts are broken by what has happened in recent days - the killings of George Floyd, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor, and the protests and riots that followed here and across the country. This has all compounded the loss, danger, and grief of these months of pandemic. But it has erupted, more deeply, out of generation upon generation of how we have lived “race.” Race is a dehumanizing construct, an invention of white people in modernity; I recommend this excellent podcast episode by our friends at Scene on Radio to understand its origins. Once again this week, I must comment on the majesty of the Dieffenbach/Jones gift to mankind. Larry's playing is inspired, joyful, and sublimely worshipful. And every aspect of Matthew R. Jones's technique - crisp diction, hearty vowels, flawless pitch, gorgeous timbre, emotive dynamic range, evocative passion, and raw power - place him securely among the world's top baritones. Blessed are those who witness these men tender their gifts!

Thank you for posting this very worshipful service on TH-cam. I am deeply moved by the astounding talent of the musicians. Larry Dieffenbach's artful precision is the perfect accompaniment to one of the greatest baritone voices of all time. Matthew R. Jones, you are world-class.

I wanted to comment that I loved when our old Jesus doll made an appearance when the PA first read. I wanted you to know that I saw it and was sad when He disappeared. All the young adults in the LHC congregation who might remember Pastor Patty would have smiled upon seeing Jesus appear.
