My First Gold Coast Marathon Experience (2024) - Sub 3:10 Attempt
My experience running the 2024 Gold Coast Marathon for the first time attemping sub 3 hours 10 minutes. This is my third marathon after Melbourne in 2023 and Canberra earlier this year.

Chris started running earlier this year and since the start of March has gone from 27:08 to 22:06 for his 5K PB. He is currently on a PB streak and attempting his 6th PB at Rhodes parkrun. Join me and OPRC on our longest run as some of us prepare for the Canberra Marathon. 36km course starts off in Bicentennial Park and takes us along Parramatta River where we do a loop of Parramatta Park and return via Meadowbank and Rhodes. (forgot to change the setting on my GoPro to 16:9 from 4:3, would have preferred the wider ratio)

One of a handful of parkruns which start at 7am in Sydney. The course is a little challenging to navigate at first but it's well marshalled with signage. Tip is to save some energy for the gradual incline in the last km! Removed the sound with video speed at 4x. One of the fastest parkruns in Sydney. Starting near the Victoria Ave entrance to Bicentennial Park, a flat course which involves a 1km loop followed by 2km out before turning back at Rhodes waterfront.
