Channel Update & More | Christmas 2024🎄
Hey Lovelies!👋🏾
So, I know this video is a day late, but I got home kind of late last night, so I had to post today. This is an update video just letting y’all know the reason behind why the channel has been staying still these past two months and ideas for videos that may come in the new year. As I said, I’m wanting to get this channel back up after being gone for so long and new content is what I’m aiming for in the near future. I know I didn’t post a lot this year, but hopefully next year will be better.
So, hopefully this video should explain a few things.
(BTW, sorry if I stutter and pause a few times in the video. I was thinking of what to say next. Lol)
Hope you all have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, & I’ll see y’all in 2025!❤️🎅🏻🎄

Years later about 3 years ago and I...

I hope Thomas comes back for the franchise’s 80th anniversary
Thomas had wanted to be the leader of the track.
Wonderful review! Still haven’t watched Great Discovery myself lol, but now I feel inspired to put it on for my little cousins (and myself) this Thanksgiving
It's interesting that the Nitrogen Era was the one that stablish Henry being a coward, but somehow undertood his vanity better than the Brenner Era, that's really facinating for me. I'm glad that someone finally pointed this overlook detail out, a fantastic video sister, it's really well put together.
In the advert for legend of Zelda echoes of wisdom.the narrator is pierce brosnan the narrator of great discovery.
This movie was one of my few experiences of Thomas on the Big Screen, and I wish I could remember where I saw it! Something that caught me off guard, which the DVD release corrected, was the audio. It was slightly off-pitch, like a semitone down. Edward’s whistle sounded more like James,’ Thomas’ more like Duck’s but an octave up, etc Might have something to do with getting the film direct from the UK and there being some difference in how the sound was recorded, like how video games in Europe (PAL region) run at a lower frequency than the US and JP regions. It certainly stuck with me, as did much of the rest of the film!
Sorry that you didn't get to see the movie until you got older. If you watched this movie back then, it would have felt nostalgic to you. It was released in the 2000's
As a child i lived and breathed The Great Discovery so i may or may not have some biased feelings towards it, i personally think it holds up but yea there isA LOT of goody stuff in this film, nice review!
I grew up with that movie it was my original favorite
The Great Discovery is a good movie
This movie was the reason why i know Thomas the tank engine and made me fall in love with the franchise(except bwba and aeg)
As a young kid, I didn't much care for Bronsan's narrations, but they've definitely grown on me as I got older. Aged like fine wine.
@@aJunctionMalfunction Well said.👍🏾
Nice edit!
If you want to see James Bond narrating a Thomas movie, this movie’s for you.
originally after TGD pierce brosnan was going to be the narrator for series 12. there were clips of his narration somewhere but they sticked to the two mikeys 💔
I became slowly uninterested in Thomas when SLOTLT was about to come out from what I remember. I recently saw the movie a few days ago and considered it an epic and wholesome ride while it lasted.
The great discovery is my favourite Thomas movie
The Great Discovery is actually tied for being my favorite Thomas movie
Whats the other one if I may ask? Just curious
Nice review, I honestly love the great discovery. The hit era is a pretty mixed bag for me, I think seasons 8 and 9 are pretty decent, seasons 10-12 aren’t terrible but they’re very mediocre, and calling all engines just kind of exists. The great discovery is definitely my favorite part of the hit era though
Too bad the Thomas balloon didn't make a comeback after 2016. I wish it was used for the 75th anniversary or in this case the upcoming 80th anniversary of the franchise next year! I know in one time, it was behind Sesame Street's float (which makes another connection between both shows at the same time - alongside airing on PBS Kids originally and their movies like Grouchland and Magic Railroad being released by Sony Pictures).
i never watched it as a kid but i couldnt even get far because its so BORING like the narrator speaks like if hes gonna get beat by his parents if he talks too loud
Great review! I respect your opinion on a few aspects that I agree could use a little retweaks in dialogue writing, but it is my third favorite Thomas movie overall and I prefer it over Lost Treasure (which is overrated for me). I really love Thomas' arc in this movie, and I place the events of said movie in my series in probably the early 70s where it becomes the explosive end to his cocky persona and becoming mature yet cheeky (Stanley would've been a visitor at that time before being purchased officially by the NWR in the 80s). Speaking of Stanley, I like him in this movie and is another great character (though I wish he got a few more spotlight episode roles after this - how could've easily taken the role of Puts the Brakes On - I mean, they gave Rosie three more spotlight episode to herself in the remainder of the show, why not him?). I also consider this to be the main swansong for entirety of Thomas (and the models as a whole) w/ everyone coming together including the Narrow Gauge engines, the Pack, and a few other returnee characters (even if the Little Western gang wasn't present, but oh well). While I enjoy Pierce Brosnan's narration, there are a few areas where he could've given a bit more energy in his performance. Also, since Tom Hanks was on the model set at Shepperton Studios at the time in 2006, it would've been surreal to hear him doing the US dub of the movie while Brosnan did the UK. I do appreciate him for attempting at giving the characters a few distinct voices, especially in his BTS interview w/ Jamie Thomson. Songs-wise, I only liked Jobs-a-Plenty and Thomas You're the Leader and the model work is a lot spectacular, including the tower scene in true-Mitton fashion (he would've been so proud).
@@thesudriana016 Thanks, man! And yes, I agree with you. TGD taking places in the 70s would be fitting because that would be the perfect time for Thomas’ maturity to start considering his last time having a big cheeky personality was in the 60s, so by the 70s, he would’ve started growing being older while still being a bit young and cheeky. So, I agree that would be a really fitting time period for the film’s setting. Also, out of all the songs, You’re the Leader is an absolute banger. Very catchy. Oh shit, I remember someone once said that Tom Hanks was seen during TGD’s production. I totally forgot about that. Lol. Thanks for sharing that & thanks for watching!😊
Must say This is a lovely review Although not my favorite Thomas movie (Magic Railroad holds a special place in my heart, even if it is quite... polarizing lol) but I definitely should check out Great Discovery sometime. Although it does have the usual HiT Era burdens, I wouldn't be too farfetched to say it isn't a hidden gem of the HiT Era! Good stuff Choothe! Keep up the good work Full-steam ahead!
@@BMALCINE364 Thanks! The Great Discovery is absolutely a HiT era favorite for some, but I think it’s pretty good even though it has its weird moments. Lol Thanks for watching & I sure will!😁❤️
I finally saw it when it was on Netflix back in 2012 I honestly gotta say it's actually written better than most of the hit Era imo. Altho I hate the rhyming in the cgi Era.
Alright, so I've never watched any of your videos back when you were Duckfan, but I'm sure I have passed by them before, but despite that, I would like to give you a formal "welcome back/glad you're not dead". Anyway, I really like your analysis here on the differences between the two CGI Sad Story of Henry flashbacks. I never actually thought about how the sky remaining cloudy throughout the original story and in the BMM flashback sort symbolized the gloomy and depressing theme of the episode (along with giving Henry a better excuse to say what he said to passengers when they tried to get him out). As much as I love The Adventure Begins, I do think that Blue Mountain Mystery handled the flashback better, mainly with how it's presented and how Henry's potrayed. That's not to say that I don't like The Adventure Begins version as I do, and I'm probably one of the few people that actually likes worrier Henry, but with how he behaves in the original story and episode, BMM did a better job with making Henry's reaction more akin to how it was there unlike TAB where he's literally afraid of the rain. One could say with the flashback in TAB ending off where the flashback in BMM started from, that Henry could've grown that standoffish mindset after the many attempts to try and get him out; I feel like that could still work in favor of Henry's punishment feeling a little more justified. It depends on who would choose to go along with that assumption. I'm also pretty sure that the reason for Henry being a lot more paranoid about the rain in TAB (other than it falling in line with his CGI persona) is so they could have a scene where Henry gets over that fear as well as having Thomas being the one to help him through that fear in an act to show his more humble side; as well as so Henry wouldn't have too small of a role, but I'm sure people have pointed that out plenty of times. Besides the differences you pointed out, really, the only other differences between the two flashbacks only stem from a visual standpoint. The one I think about the most is Nitrogen removing a track from each bore of Henry's tunnel and removing the additional elevation to the tunnel that was added in Magic Railroad. They really did try to get as accurate as possible with the flashbacks in that movie, even if they only lasted for like 20 seconds each. I apologize for this comment being so freaking long, but I do look forward to these essay videos you're starting to make.
@@sammyclark4992 Omg! Thank you so much for the welcome back! I really appreciate it!🥺❤️ Really, I returned because I realized that this fandom is indeed special as it allows all of us to share our long lived love and appreciation for the show and I have loved the show for as long as I can remember, so I came back because I realized that I’m proud of being a Thomas fan and have always been proud of being involved with other fellow Thomas fans (despite my former Duck fan self being….a SOMEWHAT questionable persona. Lol. Though even though I’ve long moved on from that personality of mine, Duck is still one of my favorite characters. You know, just not….THAT much. Lol) And yes! I do agree with your point on the flashbacks. BMM did handle it a lot better and made it look & feel a lot closer to the source material, but I also love your points on TAB one as well. Like yeah, Henry was more wimpy here unlike the other flashback, but it allowed Thomas to show his humble, kind character which in return started his positive impact on the engines and railway. Huh. I never thought of it like that. Good eye!😊 But yes, again thank you so much for the kind welcome back! Can’t wait to make more videos for y’all in near future! TYSM for watching! Stay tuned!😁❤️
TGD is my favorite thomas movie i have lots of memories watching this movie when i was younger the hit era model and the early cgi have a special place in my heart since i grew up with this era.
"He's the one!" "He's The number one."
Coming up on my 30th birthday in a couple weeks I revisited Thomas (thanks Amazon!) and I never really thought about the impact it had on me and my life. Such great life lessons and much more complex than most modern day shows.
