Thank you for sharing this. Girl promoters, truck clubs help my promotion market my events. Aquamen Enterprises, Tony Martinez and his Ladies in Red. We were blessed to have so many of these girl promoters and truck clubs pack our events at the Hollywood Florentine Gardens, D.Q.s Soto & Olympc, Electric Circus (aka Ginos) Casa Camino Real, Sports Arena, Olympic Auditorium, Hollywood Paladium, well so many events and clubs. It was an adventure of the 80's. We passed out flyers there as well. Elysian Park, San Antonio Winery on Sunday's these promoters met us there, distributing our flyers. Marketing was all about Dance, Wow girls, wow guys and just a good time. Thanks for sharing this video.
Picture this.- silly as it looks, all the competitors actually knew how to dance at the time this video was shot. What you don't see are the average kids (the ones cheering) who wanted to dance like them but didn't have the swag or moves. Trust me, them quinceanera parties in the 80's were so much fun, kids wanted to make those moves, and imitate those dancers. It was hilarious!!! I remember my brothers practicing their dance routines In front of a mirror and trying out new outfits for the weekend apartment parties. Man I miss those years, 1985/1988 80's disco years.
80s where the best times freestyle music Latino, Mr Js in El Monte and Las Cabernas in El Monte ca. Cruising in East Los Angeles! Awesome memories! I still listen to this music!!!
William from the Copadancers ruled the dancefloor, he won just about every contest at The Casa in mid 80s.. these guys were pretty lame in this vid with the exception of long pony tailed dancer (#2?)
Florentine Gardens was my first club experience ever. I wasn't even old enough, but we almost always got in with fake IDs. My first boyfriend, ever, i met at Florentine Gardens. Used to go to Venice beach all the time but never for breakdancing. Keanu Reeves used to hang out there with the skaters. But i went there for the crushes we had on a couple of the Venice Suicidal kids.
Yup!!! Mr. Jay's in Hollywood was hella fun!!! My girls and I were ALWAYS there... rain or shine. We LIVED THERE!!! Did you know Cesar Dinero? Boys From Brazil? Etc. After hours parties! Breakfast at Dennys!! Tommy's!!! ❤
I miss the days where skill was a thing instead my of tits ass and porn that's on stage now. Shameful. Thanks for the video
