You’re welcome
Thank you for this terrific video instruction. I like your simple, economic approach and sense of humor. I have a left over 24 year old unit that I am putting in my new garage / shop. I want to add a cyclonic separator as a pre filter and then convert the main unit to a closed bag system. I have all the accessories so I just need to hang it and make some pipe modifications. It was 10 degrees today in the Adirondack Mtns of New York. I was glad to be working on getting my shop set up. Good luck with your projects. Cheers!
Thank you, I like the idea of a cyclone separator. Sounds like you have it all worked out, should be be a great addition to your new shop/garage.
Funny thing is they make steel brackets that are completely hidden and hold a lot of weight specifically designed for floating shelves so you don't have to hack up the drywall.
@@jeffscott3160 the new rock fireplace surround that is being installed should completely take care of any lack of shelf support while also customizing the overall built in look of the shelves that we’re trying to achieve.
@@DIYBuilt I wasn't implying any lack of support, was just stating they make brackets for floating shelves for installations like this that don't require you to cut out all that drywall.
@@jeffscott3160 ya no worries, we built the shelves a 1/2” to long purposely to slide into the drywall. It was a planned attack. Lol
Your sheetrock doesnt have metal corners? Thats the first time ive seen that
@@scottybevan4108 I know same for me, this is a new build and the builder used all plastic corners, strange
Yeah, that to leave less of a carbon footprint. Here in the Netherlands there are companies that install sheetrock LOOPD style. If you like a laugh look it up.
Can you just tile over this or you need to add another board of some sort?
@@sbs1687 you can tile right over it. Apply 2 coats if you can.
american houses made out of paper.... terrible
And cost 750k lmao
Crazy 😜, we are aware
They're built for the climate. Stone is a *terrible* choice for hot weather 80% of the year. Besides, dudes shelf project looks great.
"american houses made out of paper.... terrible" Says the clueless know it all that's never lived in one. Building materials vary from area to area due to environmental conditions genius. You would know this if you ever stepped outta your sheltered box you've obviously spent your entire life in.
@@jeffscott3160 Quiet, papier-mâché boy. You're telling me you can't make engineering bricks locally? Do you think the rest of the world just import bricks from thousands of miles away? 🤡 Are you really that far behind? At least with Elon importing all the Gurpals, they can maybe show you.
Well Done! They are Beautiful ❤️
Thank you 🙏
Great work and explanation. This large of an area will be really nice!
Thanks brother, ya I can’t wait to test it with my hand held thermo tester, before and after
I have worked in a repair garage with in floor heat and it was the most comfortable thing ever at a lower setting than you can imagine, because your feet are always warm. Hopefully everything works out for you here.
I’m hoping it turns out as good as what you describe. Thanks for watching
Well thought out - looks great.
Thanks brother
Good explanation on the install. That is a large surface for heated floor - that will be very nice heat.
Thanks, I’m excited to see how it turns out too! Cheers
Great work! This looks very doable for anyone, you gave some really detailed instructions. I’m ready to see it heat up now
Thank you, yes it's a simple setup, the hard part is the labor.
@ I was thinking that after you got done with that first row. Definitely tedious work
@@FixItFrench yes for sure, also having knee pads over that Ditra mat helps out a lot
I'm just about to make this. Any tips on how you actually fitted the internal shelves and holders would be appreciated. It looks like you used small squares of plywood as mini shelf brackets? And a central piece of 2x4 screwed down the middle?
Yes that’s exactly right. Basically 1 2x4 down the center and strips and blocks of 3/4” plywood screwed to the interior of the cabinet. It’s all dependent on the tools you’re planning to store, what I did was placed all my tools out on the floor and then individually created shelving brackets to hold everything. Hope that helps and best of luck with your build
Dope 😎
Love this design
Thank you sir

Drywall for a shower? I guess sheet rock is out of style?
Oh good idea 💡
It works well for me, it’s so much faster.
👏🏼👏🏼
@DIYBuilt thanks for the lesson. It's been a while since you made this video...are there any changes you would make? How did the hinges hold up?
Yes it has been a while, honestly I wouldn’t change a thing. I still use it daily, hinges are still holding strong which is surprising considering how much weight is on each door. I still love it
@DIYBuilt glad to hear
Looks good
Thanks, it’s different, it’ll be interesting to see it all grouted and put back together.
Did you fix the leak in the window before putting the walls up in the shower?
Yes we did
That beam looks amazing
Thanks, yes it turned out awesome
The floor is a terrible choice of color and so is the tile i hope there is a tub somewhere in the trailor everyone needs a tub shower combination ...
Thanks for your take, the floor is actually a fairly high end vinyl plank, color choice is what it is. And the shower tile is white so I’m not sure why the color is wrong 😑. No there is not another bathroom with a bath tub.
Does Ditra make the cable too? Or just the membrane?
Schluter systems makes both the Ditra mat and Ditra heating cable
I don't even understand what it is. Is it plastic flooring?
It is a plastic uncoupling membrane that we add the heating cable to prior to setting the floor tile
@@DIYBuilt Aha, I see!
Do not like how the title of this video does not at all match what the video is. The title makes it appear as if it is a review of the product, but instead it is a "how to" video . . . did dot hear anything about whether it is "worth the hype" or anything at all about it working or not. Thumbs down for that, not coming back.
Maybe if you stick around till all the parts are available and find out for your self. I think judging by the title its part 1 of 4 but i could be wrong 🤔
Thanks for this!
You’re welcome
great video and easy to follow tips.
Thank you, I’m glad it can help
Excellent explanation - I looking forward to learning how to finish the install. I'm interested installing this product so perfect timing on this video.
Thank you sir, I hope the series can help you if you need. Thanks for watching!
Awesome work brother! I’ve never installed one of these, I’m interested to see how the rest of this goes
Thanks, it’s larger than anything I’ve done to date. It’s a lot of work but definitely worth doing.
Nice work! A lot of homes have these hollow doors and most people don’t reinstall the sill at the bottom after they cut it. Nice to see you doing it the right way 👍🏼
Thanks, that’s true I’ve seen a lot that we’re just left open too.
You should install pan first than the board per schluter instructions.
Nice! I Built one as Well on my channel, But is that a Router that you use on making the Cuts for the Insert's? 🤗😘🙌
Great I’ll check out your channel. Yes it was a router with a flush trim bit
@@LadeijahsCreations great channel! I just subscribed
😂😂😂😂love your video.Rant ended
Thanks 😂
Well great now that poor trailer is going to collapse due to the extra weight it wasn't built for.
That’s hot to be the smallest TV I’ve seen on a media wall 😂
Not exactly
Fantastic job, really well done 👍. But please put a guard on your bench saw please 🙏
Thank you, yes will do.
Big difference between furniture and appliances, and fastening it to the floor. Just saying. After 35 years of flooring installs, I’ve seen it all. It’s an easy fix. Not criticizing work. Looks great, just sharing info.
Thanks, appreciate your input and experience
Omg 😟 Was für ein quatsch‼️ Falsche platten … und die Holzlatten werden auch ordentlich arbeiten. Soviel unnütze unprofessionelle Arbeit und dann davon noch ein Video ins Netz zu stellen. 🤦♂️
Thank you I appreciate your criticism.
