Heart of a Man is a men's community based our Carmel, IN. We exist to deeply connect men with a brotherhood equally committed to learning, growing, walking through life together and deepening in faith. Our mission is to build men into character-driven, committed disciples of Jesus, equipped to forge healthy, life-giving relationships at home, at work, and in their communities.
Today's lesson is from our CEO, Bill Moore, where he takes us through the remainder of 1 Timothy 6, challenging us around the question: In what do you place your hope in this life? Is it in your work? Is it in your job? Is it in your kids? He ultimately pushes on us to fully understand the reason why Jesus is the only true source of hope.
Please visit us at www.heartofaman.org to learn more, to contact us, to purchase merchandise, donate to our ministry (we are a 501c3 and all donations are tax-deductible) or to join us in-person for one of our many Bible studies and classes!

Bill, Thank you for the heartfelt message. It was well said and emphasized the message we received from I Tim 6 a couple weeks ago. It’s is not “Godliness…AND”or “Jesus…AND”. HOAM has been such a blessing to me. I always feel welcomed, accepted and loved. Jesus’ love and the power of the Holy Spirit are so evident in you, your sons and the many men that you have around you. Thank you for your service and efforts in such an important and necessary ministry to equip us guys! Praying for you! Love in Christ and Maranatha! Bill Potts 18:32
Bill, That was so well spoken. This morning that resonated so much with me. I being also retired since October of last year can relate. However what you and Kyle and Taylor have done with Heart of a Man has helped me more than you will ever know. I have grown more in the last year than I ever could imagine. It has been rewarding and humbling. I pray that I can continue with Heart of a Man to grow so much more in my love for Jesus. As for you Bill keep pressing on, what you are doing is real and inspiring. Love you brother. Bryan

He is amazed at having 4 gospels but there are many more gospels that weren't included in the bible.
Yes, and at 11:40 he addresses that.
Well I comment over 6,000 ones; on Christian channels over years. And many of them...delete us, when they don't believe what we believe in! So, I hope you don't do that. Could I be Wrong on my Beliefs? ABOMINABLY YES! But all other Could Wrong too! May Jesus bless you and yours, always, Amen!
If the Gospels are historically reliable, as you claim, then there should be agreement among the four Gospels regarding the MAJOR details of important events in the Jesus Story. Differences in minor details can be chalked up to normal lapses in memory, but the important details about major events should corroborate. Any court of law would demand that. In addition, Christians claim that first century Jews, being an oral culture, maintained the meticulous accuracy of their oral stories. So why is it, then, that the four Gospels do not agree upon when, where, and who first discovered the body of Jesus was missing from the tomb? If the early Christians couldn't correctly maintain the accuracy of that major event, why should we trust them with the accuracy of the rest of their tall tales? lutherwasnotbornagaincom.wordpress.com/2024/10/06/when-did-the-women-realize-the-tomb-was-empty/
Kyle - You did an amazing job!!
Very nicely done. Thank you.
Wow. This hit different! Just started my own personal journey to let go of my smartphone for a week to see how it goes!
(Sorry for the VERY, VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be espoused) Kind Sir Kyle Moore...you made a GREAT video, on your Channel. Because Saint Paul, is 2nd only to King Solomon.; when it comes to Wisdom and Preaching. But, he was a VERY bad; and a satan-led, Godless warrior!!! And he was going to Damascus: to take the Jews; that "believed IN Jesus". John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus) shall not perish (in Hell), but have "Eternal Life". Now, Jesus took Paul to the ground. And in...Acts 9:3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: Acts 9:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? Acts 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. Acts 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. And Jesus puts him to "Sleep". for weeks. Thus, when he woke up...Paul became a Wisdom Man to the "nth" degree. And He became the Greatest writer in the Bible. Yes, 13 books (Or 14 books if He wrote Hebrew). But many Bible Scholars; say he did NOT Write it!!! I say the same too. Thus, became the 2nd only King Solomon Wisdom into the OT. And, Paul Wisdom into the NT He "walked" over 6,000 miles; and created many "Christian" Churches. And, they are on the Old World today! Praise, Jesus' Holy Name... ...In any case Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!
(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be espoused) Kind Sir..."Bill Moore"...I am in no disrespect to you, atoll Pastor! But I being 92 Yrs of Christianity; causes me to believe this now: "Faith in Jesus, is all one Ever Needs". IE: Jesus said this in... Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Matthew 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. Matthew 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. And I began 17 yrs ago; to do what Jesus said in those verses. Now, I love Jesus with ALL my Heart, Soul and Mind. And I pray to Him often! And I also, love every one too, Regardless... Thus, my life is now, so joyful and happy; that I never had in the 75 yrs before Really. Again...I mean no disrespect...toward you, Kind Sir Bill Moore! And I now, shall end my case... ...In any case Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!
One of your best Bill!!

Reading the book right now and enjoying the insights.
I assume the telephone game is Chinese whispers.
From one Pete to another. This is brilliant. The Bible speaks to every person in every cultue to every generation. The Hebrew language itself has layers of meaning, and the letter equivalent numbers added up in words comparing certain words is mind blowing, and the Bible code, on and on. ... The most mind blowing thing is how Jesus was able to save the world from sin..the free gift of forgiveness and love for those who would confess Jesus as Lord. Forgiveness cancels guilt the root of disease, disturbed ease, pain, a lack of peace with our maker. Healing under His wings!
This hits hard. It’s so true.
Thanks so much!!
Literally have never heard anywhere at anytime that divorce has "very little impact"
If you’ve been in the church though, the point is that it’s not being talked about there.
Very helpful message, thank you for reminding me about the need to focus on the Lord, as Jesus said "take every thought captive...".
Thank you Dr Peter!!
Truthful account of youthfulness without God and the evil we spread. Commentary stirred memories that lead to change my life starting with the USMC to my current journey with God and truth.
My view is that people who wrote those books, their intention is to glorify their hero. They have different sources. But the worst part is we don't have the originals manuscripts of any books of the Bible.
Why is the lack of the _original_ manuscripts important? How many _original_ manuscripts about any historical figure from over 500 years ago do you know of? Indeed, how many _original_ manuscripts of any history book published in the last 500 years can you point to?
I can accept Alexander the Great existed without any historical books, just retold stories because whether he existed or not, but it would not affect my life at all. People creating laws based on Christ’s life does. And this goes for any religion. It sets up an”us” versus “them” mentality. Take a quick look at the middle east or Afghanistan. Northern Ireland in the recent past. The crusades, the inquisition ( which lasted over 400 years btw). Your beliefs effect your decisions and faulty beliefs will create faulty decisions.
@@convinceme6676 You're so right! Faulty belief causes faulty decisions. I wonder why those laws were ever passed? Which ones exactly do you object to?
This presenter is intoxicated by Christianity.
Tremendous lesson, Bill!!
(Sorry for the VERY, VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be espoused) I just come, from reading Genesis 37 and 38. And "Judah" was what an old adage is, and his Son: "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree"! Meaning his father, Jacob/Israel, was a VERY Bad father; and Judah did it the same!. Because Jacob loved Joseph; more than any of his other sons. And NO father, should ever have, be "partial", EVER! Thus, I believe, the horrors of Judah, were going on, most of his life; believing Joseph was dead! Thus, Jesus punished both the father, except for Joseph and Benjamin. And the Jacob and Judah; were deserved, for what they got in pains, etc! And let it be a warning to ALL men. Because Jesus punishes every Sin X 7 times. And 10 X times 7=70; for "Abominable Sins". (Like Jacob and his 10 sons did!) Leviticus 26:28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will punish you seven times for your sins. Thus, Jesus punished King Nebuchadnezzar for 7 yrs; on the ground for his Sins, While Jesus was punishing 2 Tribes; by allowing the King to enslave the Tribes, for 70 yrs. 605 BC to 535 BC! Because of their 'circa 1,000 yrs; of committing Abominable Sins! So men please LISTEN!...."Be Careful, Be Ware and Be Alarmed"; of what Jesus can do to us! AMEN!
(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be espoused) Kind Sir "Heart of a Man"...I shall answer this to your question, "How Does God Transform A Man? // Genesis: Why Is It This Way?" I believe it in this...Matthew 19:26 Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. And THIS is the "Way"; that Jesus gave people eyes, ears and even giving "Lazarus" his life after he was dead 4 days! And untold other things, that NO man could ever do. But Jesus can do EVERY thing. For, there is NO limits EVER! And IF those foolish "Atheistic Scientists" KNEW that; they WOULD believe there is A "True" God. But they were Blinded by satan. And they think EVERY "Way" in earthly "logic"! How silly. For, with God all things are possible. Praise Jesus' Holy Name! End of story and rest me case... ...in any case Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!
Great sermon!
So to get more kids, boink the help? I mean, it was good enough for Abraham. Oh...wait. That turned out really badly.
Oh we’re agreeing. lol there is nowhere in the Bible where the “multiple wives” thing worked out well.
What is so wrong of seeking God's face if there's any Promise Keepers man out there can you give me that answer what is the author's always empty why doesn't God hear the cry in a humbleness of man and family humbling himself at the altar oh I went to church today that makes me safe right I go ahead and put my mask back on to the world and do things in the world and forget about the message how many remembers the messages that you supposed to use for that week that you heard from the word of God to the prophet who was speaking the message how many really use that message to enhance The Sinner but you walk around the church is the teachers to go out in that world wherever we're working at a represent price represent Jesus you don't have to talk you got to speak sometimes you got to speak out what's wrong what's right so what's wrong with seeking God's face Brothers of the calling a change in my livelihood and I think it's not towns process nation and abroad
Isn't it time to go back to the promise Keepers and seeking God's face
Why do you pray with your eyes closed did God not say keep your eyes open when you pray be aware of what's going on around you😮
Do you think we're the only people in the world who sometimes choose to pray with eyes closed? Pretty sure this isn't a salvation issue ;)
(Sorry for the VERY, VWRY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be said) Kind Sir...God "can" do ANY thing He wants. Even do things NO human could ever do; that were impossible, like in...Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. So God CAN use our "Parenting Mistakes"....However, He probably won't do it. Because God gave ALL humans "Free-Will"! Regardless of those who say; "He did not do that, because God always is in Control". Yeah Right!... That is a satan-led, Godless LIE. We are let do ANY thing; we want to do. Except for a VERY few times; when God will step in. Now kind Sir You said, "Genesis: Why Is It This Way?" Notice: I'm not seeing what that means, kind Sir. And Please tell me what that means). And if one wants help from God; they MUST be "Born Again" first. Then. they must pray often to Jesus, who IS God. Because Jesus' name is God; ever since the last 2,000. Where it used to be "YHWH" ("Yahweh"). And Jesus' English and in Hebrew, it's "Yeshua". Then wait (some times yrs) to see if Jesus will do what is asked. Because many times; Jesus will NOT answer. Because we are doing things; that would get in the way! And it took me 17 yrs to realize that! But now. He answers many of mine. End of Story and I rest me case... ...Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!
(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be said) Kind Kind Sir you said, "Why is it This Way". Well, if you would ask that question to 10 million people; MOST would, in essence say, "Men and Women are the same!" But that is NOT true. And the bible proves it in...Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. Genesis 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; And when God punishes like this; He makes it always; as he did to "Cain'. In other words...Men have wisdom; but women have very little of wisdom. (Now there ARE men with a lot of female hormones; while the're Women that have a lot of male hormones. But in NO case does a man or woman ever have 100% of the opposite) Sad today, where most of the world, believe men and women are the same. But it is NOT. Whether or not! And on "Judgment Day"; Jesus will reveal ALL truths. Thus will KNOW the above. Believe it or not. Thus... Women should NOT go to work; when in marriage (Unless there are no man to do it). And Men should never do the other, of course. Believe it or not. And this is proven as nations are becoming Cesspools of Dunghills; because of that! For Men should be the "Governors" Always! And Women should be the Heavenly "Precious" mother "making cookies", etc!. And again, ALL will KNOW this is Truth in "JD" very soon. Believe it or not. In any case Kind Sir and Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!
Appreciate the comment! Hopefully you didn't watch this video and somehow interpret us saying that men and women are the same. In fact, the vast majority of the video is to showcase otherwise how the role of a man is unique to him. All our best to you!
@@HeartofaManIndy Thank you Kind Sir.
Stop brainwashing people with this nonsense. There is zero - as in ZERO - evidence that anyone named Jesus ever lived. You haven't found a single piece of evidence of Jesus at the time where he was alive. Not a single lousy letter, or piece of graffiti on a wall. And funny enough, you compare roman leaders with Jesus, but we have so much evidence of these roman leaders, from multiple sources, but ZERO of Jesus. The New Testament, the Gospels, are just bad fan faction of the Old Testament. Jesus was never a real person, until the gospels were written somehow, 70 years AFTER his death. Come on, seriously, we don't even know who wrote the Gospels. People, stop believing in a fictional character like Jesus, pick your self up, and believe in your self, and not stupid storytales written by random people.
The only people who argue Jesus didn't exist are deluded or outright dishonest. Take your pick as to which applies to you. There isn't a recognized expert in ancient history who argues the evidence doesn't exist. That evidence - from outside the Bible - goes right back to historical records from the late first to early second century.
Good lesson. Your part about restraint with the donkey was funny. The words you got to go back to the hard place really stuck out to me.
(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be said) Kind Sir...of course, NO English bibles are accurate; from "Gen To Rev". And this is why: The bibles began with "Hebrew to Aramaic to Greek to Latin to Manuscripts into English". And any wise Translator, would say, "It's impossible to have an English Bible, and be 100% accurate!". And to prove this...go to the Web; and seek the "GreatSite Co" of the "English Bible History". Then spend many hours; to find out of, the English Bible. And if you're a wise Christian...you WILL know; that no Bible can be accurate! Especially...if it's English. Sad, but OH So true. May Jesus be mercy. And this is why today's 2 New English Bibles* came into being; are the NASB (1972 AD); and the NIV (1973 AD). And they say; "The MOST accurate ,ever translated"! Where the NASB are translated "word by word"; while the NIV are translated "phrase by phrase"! And many say, "It's better to get the NIV; unless you are really up, on the (crazy) English language". ...in any case kind Sir and Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN! * (NASB) “New American Standard Bible”, (NIV) “New International Version”. And they have created a New "KJV" bible (NKJV 1982 AD); because the other bibles are so wanted today. Praise Jesus' Holy Name!
Most modern English Bibles are translated directly from the original Hebrew & Aramaic languages for the Old Testament and from the original Greek language for the New Testament. I don't know where you got this multi-level path from those languages to English from, but it seems you've never read the preface to whatever translation you're using.
the quran has been translated accurately for centuries too. Does it make it true?
@@convinceme6676 No it's not necessary of any Scripture; from the very beginning! And wise Bible Scholars knows this. Because languages make every thing crazy. They, know that any time they translate from one language to another language; there ARE going to be errors; that can't stop. And not to mention several translates; it simply goes wild. So the best way to find the Truth! Is to pray to Jesus ONLY; and ask Him for "Wisdom, Understanding and the Truth!". Because, Jesus (whose name of the ONLY true God Almighty) is the ONLY "Inerrant and Infallible Being; there will ever Be! And Praise Jesus' Holy Name. Amen!

@@MrPatdeeeeHow do you know you're not being given information from a demon pretending to be Jesus? If you don't accept scripture, how would you know? Why would a God so powerful that He was able to create the universe, not be able to control the accuracy of the Holy Scripture that tells the World His story? I understand atheists dismissing scripture as infallible but it doesn't seem logical for a person who really believes in God.
Where do we come from? What do we do? How do we define ourselves? Christian? Everyone God created even if different then you has value.
I appreciate this video, especially minutes 8-20 where you talk about the issues boys and men are facing. And I also appreciate the passion you obviously feel for these issues, and the well-being of the men you work with. I'm not religious. I'm one of the 90% of men you say don't have religion by age 18. Yet I don't have those negative outcomes you showed. I don't believe that prayer in schools is good thing -- the fact that you associate all those negative outcomes with the supreme court decision to end prayer in school is not correct -- there is a massive leap in logic there that I don't agree with. Correlation does not equal causation. That said, I love the fact that you are helping men within your religion understand these important issues and be the best men they can be. I just hope you remember the separation of church and state. One thing I love about this country is freedom OF and freedom FROM religion.
Thanks a ton for sharing your thoughts on this! We absolutely are grateful for the freedoms of our country as well! Prayer coming out of schools is correlated heavily to the removal of teaching a foundational morality in schools anymore, which we do think is heavily correlated and owns some causation with the degradation of the moral undergirding of the nation. Less kids praying and learning about faith means less children believing in it! The connection there certainly exists to SOME level. That’s our thought; thanks again for sharing!
I know this is an older talk, but man, I love this message!!
