Ive never seen this before, have to watch the whole thing.
Never realised that Erik was in this. I will watch the whole movie now. He was beautiful and a fabulous dancer. No wonder Nureyev fell for him.

I would SO much rather have seen Bruhn dance than his partner....and what was up with the 4 caballeros?? The choreographer had them pretending they were ice skating for a minute there, ‘swish, swish, swish’!! Bizarre, lol!
His partner happened to be a wife of prominent French dancer and choreographer Roland Petit, a ballerina, singer and actress. And she plays one of the main roles in this film, Bruhn is there only in this episode

Agree! As to the late Zizi having so prominent a role in the film about Denmark (where the late, great Mr. Bruhn was from, and represented so well).. once again "it's who you know"...
Jeanemarie is a wonderful ballerina
I only knew her from photographs. She is a lovely feminine stage prescence
@@casteretpollux Watch her dance with her husband Roland Petit, there is a Carmen PDD from Black Tights they dance together, look it up, here in this film she doesn't just dance, she is acting and sings in one of the main roles

Yes she was a famous ballerina AND married to a famous director. Additionally, Erik Bruhn, whom she was dancing with, (in yellow) happened to be the greatest male dancer in Europe in the 1950s (and without whose help, a young Nureyev could not have had a good career 10 years later.) However: This was just a commercial Hollywood Danny Kaye vehicle...and excellent ballet artistry really was inconsequential.
