Baffles my mind as to why they chose to make you stream everything. Crazy horrible decision. At least give us the option to download the sim for those of us who want a better experience!!!

Try 2024 it is the top sim now. Even the flight physics argument is lost for XP. Fenix is the best aircraft sim combination ever.

They should have NEVER wasted bandwidth on 'library objects' that are used over and over again- trees, cars, airport furniture AND aircraft. They could then focus bandwidth on scenery like in 2020. My 2020 install with Accuseason is VERY comparable to 2024 so although I own both im not seeing the need to use new sim. In fact at the moment I'm using X-Plane 12 with X-Plane map enhancement providing even newer bing images than in msfs 2024!

I wont buy this game till the reverse the online rubbish, i have been in to flightsim since 95 and this is worse than having no flightsim at all.

It’s an arcade version of msfs2020 with slightly better graphics (only if you have nasa WiFi) and badly optimized with lots of bugs and fps drops. And all that for only 100$. Thanks Microsoft.

What are your internet speeds? Your specs should be more than enough recommended a 2080.. I have a 3080 Ryzen 5950 32gb ram and its smooth on high-end in VR and perfect on ultra at 1080p dual monitor set up. I also have 500mbps speeds wired Ethernet

Terrible decision to make this game a “streamed” game rather than a locally installed hard drive game without having to bandwidth stream

The problem is console.. Trying to make this game run on console first and PC second was a huge mistake. Having it so you stream the data because it would be too big for console kids to download was just an awful idea. Hopefully Asobo is forced to change this and just let people download it all.

XP11 if you want a simulation. MSFS if you want to play a game.

LITERALLY the first thing I did when I started MSFS 2024 for the first time was deactivate the ATC and everything that is related to that like assistants, crash damage and stress damage.. btw you crashed on the runway because of missing/faulty elevation data of the airport.. that's why I always turn off the crash damage..

apart from the 737max beeing not a good plane in this sim, how did you manage to get such low frames at the beginning with a system like that? i run a i7-13700KF with a 4090 and 64gig ram and everything runs smooth like butter on ultra.

They said 50mbps was enough, but if you run it on ultra you need at least 200mbps if you want the loading times to be reasonable. in some busy locations it will draw 98 mbps continuously which is my max I upgraded from 90mbps to 480mbps the other day, the difference with loading textures is like night and day.

They should never have made a sequel to the 2020 streaming it from the cloud. Who asked for this? What about people that have a slow connection around the world?

I guess you just started playing games? You dont know how it works those days do you? They sell unfinished games, and they finish it later, why? Because people are stupid this days and they pre-order. So just wait until they finish the game.

The issue is that the average person tends to prioritize cosmetics over realism. Me personally, I will take a good physics engine over how pretty it looks. And X-Plane 12 is superior in that department. Not to mention that due to the lower graphics I can still use my six year old PC.

I think you're missing an important point here. Laminar Research (Austin Meyer) is not competing with Microsoft Flight Simulator. He set out to build a teaching aid for pilots and get it FAA certified. He's done that. Now, he's just improving it.

Very smart commentary. I never went back to MS Flight Sim 2020 after trying DCS World 2 years ago. The lack of damage model in MS Flight Sim kills the immersion. Why bother looking right and left when taxing to the runway when you go straight through other planes and vehicles. In DCS World, you can bend the tire, pop the tire, have all kinds of damages and this makes all the difference when it comes to immersion and adrenaline. I just enjoy flying in DCS World. MS Flight Sim seems like a glorified Google Earth Simulator. MS 2024, they added character creation. This is where their priorities are now In DCS World, I messed up my landing in Mirage M2000C and I could not drop my external fuel tank after refueling and taking off. This is cool!

The meta quest is somehow a good overall package. Of course other VR glasses have their advantages, like better resolution or larger field of view, but the meta quest impresses - in my opinion - with its compactness.

It depends on where one derives satisfaction from. In my Opinion MSFS is an absolute joy whenever you have to look out of the window, but it looks awful around airports that are not at the centre of a city. MSFS makes some airports outside a city including countryside airports look like they're in some kind of a rural settlement, and unless it is a third-party airport, it kills the immersion for me. Xplane 12 makes airports look immersive with well-laid out roads and cars running on them.

xplane mobile on my iphone feels more realistic flying the planes than msfs, and i play msfs all day every day but still enjoy xplane mobile. i can even replay my flights on xplane mobile which i can't do on msfs. i do enjoy the msfs live group flights with general aviation planes that some youtubers host live. not sure how big the xplane 11/12 live sim flight popularity is, but its very big on msfs. flying with 50 people coast to coast on msfs live every night was amazing, regardless of the planes not feeling extremely realistic, the weather and scenery across usa was amazing in msfs. Need to combine xplane12, msfs, and GTA!!!😀

I already had a Mac and didn't want to spend $3k on a dedicated rig, so my choice was made for me. That said, I want my sim so I can learn how to fly. That means solid flight model and accurate scenery for VFR. XP plus clumsy scenery mods seems like the way to go, but really XP should make good imagery far easier to integrate.
