What a ride. I love Dan’s take on nearly everything. The last tie up with the generations that came before us really hit home to me. My mother grew up in the depression and WWII era and the stories she has of hard times make anything we complain about extremely trivial. Time to get to work and make the previous generations proud.
Plane
Not for nothing, but omitting the partner that helped grow the channel is really petty and weird. Damon was part of the equation.
You are so inspirational Jo!! Thank you for your story!
You can talk all business Jo, but the truth is that you have chosen a career opportunity over your friendship and 1mil+ subscribers....
Excuses
So awesome to hear her story. I watched her and Damon's channel and it was always a pleasure to watch. Jo is super smart and such a go getter!! Love her ❤️
your titles be spammy as hell. good video but not the right title
I was one of the people who got to contribute to Shut Up and Go and receive a brand deal! It was such an amazing experience and I still deeply admire Jo and her journey!!!
Girl, the gaslighting is strong with you. I remember the "announcement video" aka the last video on the Damon and Jo channel. You didn't announce the partnership is going away, you said you'd be posting on individual channels and the joint channel. You specifically said you'd do a series on the joint channel and that it wasn't the end, just a change. You cant rewrite history when the evidence is still up.
Not enough time to watch? Here's the recipe: Take one large hunk of prime beef (needs to be high in narcissism and low in acidity ie. hunky but smooth), stir in a large cupful of paranoia mixed with some win-at-all-cost (be sure to marinade those both in authenticity dressing first!). Add a large pinch of AI and whisk in some old-fashioned click-bait marketing. Voila! You have your viral podcast. Hostesses! To Serve: be sure to tell your guests that you serve this dish not in your own interests, but in service of your mission (your mission is anything that makes it sound like you're not doing it for financial gain, which you clearly are, but as long as you can convince yourself, others will believe you too, magic, eh?). Want to really impress? Go out of your way to make your dish sweat (this is what we chefs call "making it cry"). Your guests will swoon over your thumbnails and trailers and you will know you are surely the king/queen of social engineering. PS: whatever this is, it's not disruption, it's just tired old marketing posing as "authenticity" with a "mission". Trevor Noah didn't fall for it when "interviewed" by Stephen Bartlett, and maybe you too should consider whether this is "authentic" or just same old. Cos it's same old, cynical, just hiding the tracks behind social engineering. Fun fact: you will not go to some Authenticity Heaven for doing this.
She was a bad friend and shady business partner
Ladder
I do not have time for Simon Squibb.
she sold out her friend..... for netflix money
Exactly
I’m a content creator myself, just hitting 100k on Insta, and this is really helpful! The only thing I don’t quite understand is what exactly is "a brand deal"? Ive made some £££ and starting to get more offers for collaborations and still trying figure out what to charge, but is a brand deal just a paid partnership where you advertise a product, or are there other ways to incorporate it into your content without it feeling like you’re pushing products in a sales pitch? Any help to explain this would be great
I love this! She is a superstar ❤
Heard it made notes
Always adore listening to Ben’s story and his insight thank you for having him on!
It’s disappointing that it all ended with Jo trying to tell the story without saying Damon’s name
Some great insights shared and really interesting to hear the challenges around mindset. I was having a chat with someone earlier about how I thought mindset was a big factor in people growing their business and although he agreed with me, he reckoned that most people don't THINK they have a mindset challenge. Would love to know if you agree/disagree?
Yeah 100% agreee. Mindset is definitely the most unexpected challenge in building my business. It's really interesting journey with it and often really challenging!
What a great chat. So much value. Nice one guys!
Boom! thank you!
it's sad shut up and go felt genuine at the time 💔

Great episode!
boom!
Thank you 🙏 As a new creator this video just gave me tons of ideas and set my expectations better. Bravo gentlemen!
glad you value!
Ben's advice for video editing has been super valuable for me in the last year or so. It's great to hear him speak so openly! Thanks for this episode, I really enjoyed it!
happy you enjoyed!
Viral
wish jo would have continued with SUAG and damon continued with his own channel. the damonandjo could have been renamed to shutup and go, with new creators coming in and adding their own videos. it was definitely a sad day when all of that was lost.
Iman is a SCAMMER
And if you pay extra they let you play on the inflatable slide 🛝 😂

Hey Callum , I have send you the email with some content Ideas for your TH-cam Channel as well my past work ! Looking Forward to your Response on Email
So funny I got in at a 10k sub channel, by being reaaaally low effort, but just being first, and an extreme good fit. 12 months later we're at 63k. Love everything about this work.
Very underrated episode! Great job! Very usful for me!
Hey callum , really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail and also help you with the overall youtube strategy and growth ! Pls let me know what you think ?
Brilliant episode. It's always good to hear about all the the ups and downs it took to land on a winning formula. Even a guy who has 30 years of business experience just needs to try things and see what works.
Another top drawer conversation. YT is deffo a tough nut to crack (compared to SF), but this convo has deffo helped clarify the focus areas.
