It is coming to Xbox next year

I remember in 2006-ish, MvC2 PS2 was going for like $150 on eBay. Which is why I rented it from Hollywood Video ($5-$6) and paid them the "lost" fee ($30) 😈

Once again Capcom take one step forward but two steps back. Can't win. While it's awesome we're getting these games back ....they come with censorship. Also ...who asked for Capcom Fighting Evolution? Why not Tech Romancer, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, or the finished but cancelled Capcom Fighting All-Stars? Why is Rival Schools 1 & 2 missing? (2 is the one that never got localized..... Project Justice is actually "Rival Schools 3") Why is Project Justice still missing the high school sim story mode? That was unnecessarily cut that last time it got localized on the Dreamcast (and it got cut from Rival Schools 1 localization on the PS1....sigh) Who asked for the censorship? Why are endings and stages and outfits being redesigned? For what? For.....who? Also side note: The reason the sequel of Star Gladiator was changed to Plasma Sword, was to distance itself from the historical ties to Star Wars Yes .....Star Gladiator was originally supposed to be a Star Wars fighting game. Capcom was hired by Lucasarts to make the game and some time mid development they got dropped, and instead of just throwing away all their assets, they repurposed the game to Star Gladiator while Lucasarts had the much more brilliant idea of hiring....whoever made Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi for PS1....a much... better....no much worse game. That's why in Star Gladiator you have some characters that clearly look like they coulda been Star Wars character such as Bilstein being a stand in for Darth Vader (he also kinda looks like the villain from the 1985 live action Tokusatsu TV series Juspion but whatever), and that Chewbacca looking character. June was probably origin Princess Leia... So yeah

I will pre-ordered marvel vs capcom fighting collection and capcom fighting collection 2 the marvel vs capcom fighting collection is coming out in 11-22-24 and capcom fighting collection 2 is coming out in 2025 the best fighting game collection for the 21st century thanks to the people of marvel and capcom for making both games and the fans of marvel and capcom are happy and marvel vs capcom 2 is free for the Playstation 4 and and switch and PC 🖥 and hopefully the Playstation 5 as well.

i consider the ps1 versions of XmenvSF,MSHvSF and MVC1 to be "unique" rather than absolute dogshit. hell you could say that at most the MVC1 ps1 port had some system mechanics that went on to influence later capcom games (i cant recall which ones)

Is the Punisher game not gonna be the arcade version?

While playing MVC 1 and 2 will certainly be a good time, I've had those perfect Dreamcast ports to play. I'm excited to have arcade-perfect X-Men vs Street Fighter in my home for the first time, only took almost 30 years!

Sad fact: I had MVC2 on PS2, didn't know what it was worth, and sold it for like 60 bucks in 2006 or so.

Question: how did Capcom Fighting Collection run on switch? Because MVC Fighting Collection should run very similarly.

Its insane how Capcom kept using the 1995 SF Alpha 1 sprites for years, and they still held up in 2000.

I always remember in the late 2000s the remaining arcade consoles of Marvel vs Capcom 2 had not been taken care of, and just had very dull screens and looking old in general. It made the games look much older than they were. Street Fighter 2 and MvC 2 were the most common Capcom cabinets in Puerto Rico in the 2000s. King of Fighters and Fatal Fury were common too.

In defense of the PS1 version of X-Men versus Street Fighter: it did have super cancels and I'm guessing Capcom kept it in mind for later😏

I remember the very first time I played MVC2 on the Dreamcast back in the day and all of my friends and I HATED the music choices. But we played the game SO much that it was burned into our minds.

I had the PC version. Aside from some gameplay issues because of the way Probe ported the game, presentation wise it was the ONLY arcade accurate looking version of the game. But ONLY if you installed the 16MB RAM version. The 8MB RAM version had cut down color and about a 30% reduction in animation frames. But still nothing as bad as what the PS1 got.

I had the DC MvC2 way back. I have the PS3 version on my PS3 and in the library. I have the empty box for the PS2 version.
