    I am not a tutor and I found this video looking things up about adhd and autism. I am currently feeling completely burnt out. When you read that letter, I absolutely identified with the writer especially about the mothering part.

    Hello,Qualified Tutor I recently came across your TH-cam channel and was impressed by the quality of your content. However, after conducting a comprehensive analysis, I noticed there is room for improvement for your TH-cam channel to get more visitors and subscribers. • Your Video Title and description needs to be improved • You need to use more relevant tags and keywords • Organic promotion of Top social media • High-ranking tag setup (keyword, hashtag) If you want I can do a free TH-cam channel audit for you for your better understanding.

    While we're encouraging our students to consider the wide range of pathways into their potential future career, we can hardly do the opposite for ourselves. Apprenticeships and T levels are highlighting the benefit of experience and coaching over qualifications. I got a science qualification but I still didn't know how to do my job until I did my job and learned on the job from others.

    Ah yes, the lovely online monitoring during lockdown! We had to send across a video of one of our lessons so that SLT could assess it. Another unnecessary layer of anxiety that teachers just didn't need at that time.

    • @qualifiedtutor

      Totally understand this - can you think of an alternative means of supervision/instruction that would work? We'd love to hear your thoughts

    • @DazzleDust32
      @DazzleDust32 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@qualifiedtutor, the other option we were given was for SLT to mute themselves, camera off and just observe. To me, that is more uncomfortable!

    The discussion gives a good overview and context for tutoring and Lee provides some insights from his research and experience. Julia introduced some useful theoretical points later on. I did find Lee's comment about older tutors being seen as "dinosaurs" somewhat off-putting. Age is one of the nine protected characteristics; when I looked at the Application Process for the National Tutoring Programme I was reassured to read they are "committed to equal opportunities for all, irrespective of race, colour, creed...or age". Non-discrimination in terms of age is part of equal opportunities, which in turn is part of social mobility.
