What year and model is your bike ?
You really MUST inject politics into an otherwise decent video? Why?
Makes me think of the TV show "The Trailer Park Boys".
What does cut out mean like no more power from the battery and needs recharge or something else ?
No more power
@@AppalachianEMTB but I have a 52v would this be bit more than a 43v didn't know they had a smaller one¿
@@elmeroverga9662mine is a 52 volt also
Stops saying guys all the time it’s annoying.
You don't have to watch. Your annoying lol
Stupidly underpowered for the price.
It's worth every penny. It's been a good bike
1 thing i learned from trek who have changed drastically from older days. is not to buy a complete bike the parts anything Bontrager is not good. what i hate about the ebike they will sell you a trek ebike frame but you cant buy a motor. so what is the point in selling new 2024 ebike frames lol
You just gotta buy it and swap out a couple of parts, and it's a good bike. Not a fan of bontrager
What happened?
Red light lol
Been looking at one of these at Holmes, nursing a knee injury I need to be able to keep up but also not throw it hard.
I also have a knee injury. The powerfly gets me out and helps with my knee pain.
I have a Powerfly 4 gen 4. I ride on bike paths with a 1000 ft. ascend/descent. I turn off the battery going down, use Eco in the easy, slow stuff, and tour & emtb on hills. A mix of going fast and slow up hills. I can get 40 miles and have 20% battery left. So 50 miles a charge is great range. I am 6'4 and 230 lbs
I like to use turbo mode when climbing. It eats the battery pretty fast. My last gen powerfly got better mileage than my new one.
I grew up a few hills the the west of there. :). Live near Gettysburg now. I take people from here back there. So many other areas for e biking. I should do tours from town to town. All back roads.
I like to hit all the forestry roads. I love it here
Love it 😀
Me too ✋️
Is that full suspension?
It's a hard tail
Is this fountain in Bangor Maine?
No. It's in Wellsboro PA
SONDORS IS CURRENTLY OUT-OF-BUSINESS
I had no idea. When did that happen?
January I guess, check their website, they are gone
@bariloche1988 that doesn't surprise me. There is so much competition out there now. I got this one 4 years ago.
@@AppalachianEMTBis it worth it ??
@@AppalachianEMTBsome guys tryna trade me used one for my mini bike is it worth it?
Very noisy as well. Brose motor on my specialized is much more quieter
It is noisy
How are these grips better than the stock RR?
The stock ones kept moving on me
Nope. Not first attempt. You can see the first doughnut track prior to starting.
It was my first attempt. The other marks were from my buddy
@@AppalachianEMTB oic jk anyway
@@pauly51 keen eye lol
Did you add a yellow sticker on seatpost frame?
I didn't put any stickers on
@@AppalachianEMTB I bought my RR 1 year ago. I don’t have a yellow sticker on seatpost tube. I did have an extra yellow sticker in with the bell. Yellow Sticker states class 2 e-bike.
@pauly51 they gave me some stickers but I never put them on
Thanks for the video. How many pedal assist modes does this have? I checked the Trek site and I haven't seen a clear answer. I believe it has eMTB and Tour+ (or something like that) but was wondering if it had some sort of eco-mode also. I like to get a good workout and don't always want a lot of assistance. Thanks.
Hey I was just in a bike shop today looking at this one it does have eco mode !
Thanks for confirming
Sorry just got your comment. There are 4 modes eco, tour+ , emtb and turbo
Yes
@@AppalachianEMTB Thank you.
Isn’t the ripracer faster than the magi cycle? It seems to have a higher peak wattage and both are 52v not to mention a lot lighter
They are pretty close but the ripracer does go faster
Hey! That noise from the front brake is the horn included free of charge. So do not change the pads.
They here me coming lol
Maybe I missed it but what trail is this? Thanks!
The trail is called logslide
Nice I’m looking into an electric mountain bike. Great Music choice
They are good fun. Thanks for watching 👍
I wish Trek would put the speed motor and 625Wh battery on this bike. I ride a lot of longer-distance rides on gravel roads and like riding over 20 mph.
I would like to have the bigger battery for sure. This thing doesn't go over 20mph unless you peddling hard. I would look into a hub drive for gravel
I ordered 625 version of this beauty, hope it will be quite good enough. I don’t now if is good idea having extra battery in the future? Maybe waiting for the prices to drop down and when I recover from this expense hahaha
@milanradulovic3915 I would like the 625 but I'm stuck with this beauty for a couple years. It's enough for me. Hahaha thanks for watching 👍
Returned mine for a canyon
Why?
I love mine
I think they come standard with squeaky brakes. I just did the isopropyl alcohol clean, emery cloth sanding, etc treatment and they are fine now.
I will have to try it
Is this considered a step through, or do you have to swing your leg over the seat to mount? Nice vid!
Sorry I just got your comment. I wouldn't consider it a set through
I swear that’s restricted to 15.5 how urs more
I have no Idea. That's the way I got it
Uk is restricted to 15.5
I swear that’s restricted to 15.5 how urs more
I'm not sure about your question
@@AppalachianEMTBye rite
How tall are you? I'm 6' 2" and I want this bike, but I feel like it's going to be too small for me.
I'm 6 and it's kinda cramped. I put a longer seatpost on it and it helped. It's not the best bike for tall ppl
I guess that was in Turbo mode?
That was emtb mode. I did use turbo on all the hills. My older powerfly got better mileage.
@@AppalachianEMTB I've got a Powerfly too. A couple weeks ago I rode 53 miles on a flat trail with very few hills. I used Auto mode, but switched to eco towards the end. Wasn't sure I could make it home. I had about 17% left.
@mattmiller2761 that's crazy range. Not me I like the turbo too much lol
Great video! Love seeing the RipRacer out in the wild!
Thank you! I just had the ripracer out today 26miles... I'm loving it. Thanks for stopping by 👍
Just ordered one of these (closeout at $999 - discount code = $955.00). Was worried I wouldn't get much range on throttle only but 32 miles and still 2 bars left? Wow. There's also one ball-busting hill near my home that almost beings me to my knees with my 16-speed non-ebike, and I heard this thing eats 'em for breakfast. Can't wait until it arrives next week.
I paid $1299 for mine and a couple weeks later it was on sale for $999. It's a fun bike. I tried it on most of the hills around here and no issues. Enjoy your new bike. Thanks for watching 👍
İnceleme için teşekkürler. Ama telefonun yerini değiştirmelisin. İyi durmuyor.
Thanks for watching 👍
I think your in Bigfoot territory.
There's no doubt about it 👍I'm telling you he is real.
Awesome video, beautiful scenery
Thank you 👍 I love it here
wow,my ebike tops at 22 and it is scary cuz u don't realize on a bike its fast and i live in mts so elk, deer like to jump out..30 + mph is too dangerous for me
Bear, dear, coyote... who knows what will jump out of the woods lol it's scary at that speed for sure
That camera has God mode stability 😂
It's pretty good. I'm using gopro hero 10
Looks like it was an awesome ride! So do you mainly use throttle or do you pedal pretty frequently as well? Just trying to get a better idea on the range of the ripracer. Seems like it would be able to do quite a long ride pedaling if your ride here was mainly just throttle.
I used mostly throttle. I just pedaled for fun and on the steep hills. I bet I could've got another 5 miles easily. Thanks for watching 👍
Awesome!@@AppalachianEMTB Thanks for the info! Been enjoying the videos as well, great content!
@lashtonpapworth7939 your welcome my friend. Thanks again 👍
Looks like the foothills of the mountains in Utah :) It's beautiful but, it's crazy that this is a spectacle back east! I'm truly blessed!
It's beautiful here. Lots of ways to get away from everything!
I get 50-55 miles with peddling on mine 👍 I also have a Specialized turbo levo comp and this little rip racer is quicker and faster but the Specialized wins on comfort due to the full suspension.
That's some good range. I could have gotten more with 2 bars left. It's an awesome bike. My other bike is a trek powerfly 4.
What speeds were you riding? Rider weight? Thanks for any info.
I'm about 215 lbs and we were going 18mph down and 19mph back on the average
@@AppalachianEMTB wow, pretty good for a 15ah
@stanleyn.2476 I tried the same ride again and got 39 miles but the battery didn't cut off. Not sure why it would be set so low 🤔
Got mine last week and the off road controller made a big difference highly recommend the upgrade controller
I'm having fun with it just the way it is lol
Looks like you guys had a good time!
It was nice. Hoping to do it again on Saturday morning. Hopefully find a rattle snake
Beautiful flat ride.
It's the only place around here that is flat lol
@@AppalachianEMTB I get it. I am from San Francisco. Lots of hills!
I like it 💪
Me too 👍
Does the motor sound like that all the time? Or just when it’s being worked uphill?
It's a loud motor. But the older motors were even louder.
@@AppalachianEMTBcool thanks. What kind of phone mount do you use?
@@fazer2747 andobil Bike Phone Mount 2022 🤙
I got the powerfly 5 about 2mths ago. It has the Bosch CX motor. And yes it’s a little noisy. But I’m starting to get used to it. Th big bonus is the 85Nm of torque. It feels like it will climb anything.
That’s awesome. I’m pretty out of shape so I am looking for something that can get me up hills. From what you have said the powerfly should do that. Thanks.
Noisy motor
It's not as loud as the older ones but yes it is noisy
My rip racer should be in in the next few days, what kind of psi do you use on your tires when riding trails?
which class? How much did you pay?
Haven't hit the trails yet but I would run 20 psi to start on the trails.
@@BK_2016sr5 I paid $900 before tax, I think $957 with tax. It is on sale for $999 and I used discount code VIP100 for an extra $100 off
