Run with me POV (ASMR)| First Snow in The Swedish Wilderness (5km trail)
มุมมอง 81211 หลายเดือนก่อน
It snowed today in Sweden so I figured today is as good a day as any go for a run in the local woodland and test out the DJI Osmo Action 3. Let me know what you think. I originally wanted this to be a zone 2 run but I underestimated how heavy the snow would get on my feet. Setup My camera - amzn.to/3tQUkjw Shoes: Vivobarefoot Primus Trail Knit FG - amzn.to/3FEzEhu

Love your show, will continue to follow your Swedidmsh journey. Best wishes and be safe. Tom in Minneapolis where we have lots of Swedish and Norwegian folks.
I have holes on the bottom of my shoes, what should I do?
unless you own the property with the trees know that the owner is likely to come to and clear cut everything at some point
Great video really helpful
I was just thinking when I watched and earlier video where you show the original farmland the house was on, what a shame there were so many trees. 😂 I think you’ll grow to like the open space eventually and you still have plenty of trees on the other side.
Gorgeous house. Can see why you bought it.
To help with the heating of your new home, 1 fix chimney ,2 make sure you have a balanced flue system ,what that is ,is the house stays at the same pressure as the outside air = you have to have an air flow, in your house via your log burners/ fire, but in general, a 20 cm square hole to the outside with a grill over it, put the vent on the least windy side of the house , but also above snow line ???, to stop mice ect from entering, (don't block internal doors in the house with draft excluders) will allow the fires to breath but also taking away damp air = no mould issues ,for 1 person exhales 2 to 3 liters of damp air per day x 2 = 4 to6 liters of damp air per day, but with log burners running or not, = air movement 24 /7, = house stays ventilated at no costs, not omitting damp air will always go to the ground floors due to its weight, chimney sucks it out via wind blowing across chimney, just ideas is all wishing you both the best of luck with your new home,( ps one has a duel fuel burner cheap to run and keeps house warm dry )
4:33 - yes please
I have the Hykes Escapes they are both zero drop and barefoot.
Nice video
8:15 A fireplace like this is very uneconomical and shouldn't be used as a main source of heating. This is just to have something to look at. I'd rather invest in a heatpump system because that will quickly cost less than buying wood to heat a home. Another aspect of wood as primary heat source is that you get superdry air inside(very annoying when it's a constant thing), as well as it is a lot harder to balance the temperature as well. It becomes a job. I say these things because I myself bought an old house two years ago and the first winter I only had wood for heat and I also had to mow snow by hand(also second winter btw). I'm never going to have wood as primary heat source again, because it just becomes a job because you got to babysit that fire, and clean up and get rid of ash etc etc. Having a fire going can be cozy, but... That's for a cabin in my mind. Being dependant on it, and it's just a job and quickly the cozyness loose its appeal. Waking up to +8C inside in the winter makes no sense in my mind, and I've done it myself. That's why I installed a proper heatpump before the next winter. I also plan on getting one for the top floor, but so far the most important part was for the main floor. My electric bill was the same last winter as the first, so that means I already saved money even though I only used electricity for heat, and the second winter I did not buy any wood at all. So if heating with wood cost more(at least if you have to buy it) and it's a job, and it's so much varying temperatures, and dry air etc I just don't see the benefits at all. I live in a house from 1947, and I at least like to combine old with new. Even though I got a working chimney, doesn't mean that I *_have to use it..._*
I wish my shoes made those handpan noises everytime they touched the ground
can you put metal chimney pipe in old chimneys?
How-to books at places like Home Depot, Lowes, or whatever Sweden's home building store is!
Your home is beautiful and you’re so fortunate! I hope you enjoy what it offers while you chip away at the updates you want. Looks like the big need is the chimney/heat situation. After that, it’s all appearances. Q - Are big plastic sheets available to internally cover/seal your windows? Also, I use an electric space heater to warm a room at a time in winter months. It saves on oil heat costs, which I know needs converting. Q - Is that an option for you? Best wishes!
where did you get that shirt?
It is from a Swedish company called dressman, great quality compared to the price. I’d put it at a similar price and quality to Next (if you’re familiar with British chains)
@@theNamesPhillip Aw man... I can't get it in the states it seems :(
How much are utilities 😢
Good video. I do similar cost breakdowns for everything that I get it in my head to make, just to be sure it's worth it. If you're interested in knowing, it would be "Three dollars and forty-eight cents." "Cents" is short for "percent," obviously, so while, "Three point four eight dollars," is technically correct, it sounds strange. I have the same issue with other currency, and end up doing the same thing you did. 😆
Nice...
Just wanted to praise you for putting in efforts for still replying on a year old video 🙌
Thanks I appreciate you!
Hey no leaky roofs, you are one step ahead!
Good video. I think the Primus Trails would solve issues that you’ve had around durability and for the most part are better shoes for people new to barefoot as they have a slightly thicker sole but offer the same benefits. I’d also recommend people new to barefoot find a store to try them on as I did to get the best fit. I’m a full size down from previous shoes I’ve had.
very good. seems like will have to add physical therapy exerices too...
Fix the chimney that should be the thing to do NOW. why would you live in that cold?????
😁It's a cellar/ ice house, which is probably not something you feel you need right now!
How’s it going Phillip, I’m DM’d you on IG 👍🏻
Same thing happened to me, but down south. The forest I walked in for 20 years - and where my kids used to play - was turned into a wasteland in two weeks.
I also wish I'd known this before trying out barefoot shoes about a decade ago. I didn't know I needed to train up my feet first, and so I just went out and did a 40 minute walk the first time I wore my barefoot shoes. That was not good for me. My feet hurt afterwards, and I couldn't wear the shoes again. I ended up getting really bad plantar fasciitis that kept recurring for several years, at times making it so I couldn't walk without crutches for months at a time. Now I have custom insoles that keep my feet from collapsing, and I can tell I need them, because my foot pain starts to come back when the insole starts wearing out, but then goes away again once I get a new pair. I still don't like conventional shoes though, because I need a wide toe box. I started wearing Altra shoes about a year ago so that I could get that wide toe box and zero drop, without sacrificing the cushioning and support, and so that I could still use my custom insoles. I feel it's a good compromise. I'm pretty sure I have a connective tissue disorder, so I don't think my feet have enough structural integrity for me to ever do barefoot shoes on the regular.
Looking forward to see what happens in the future :)
His giggle gets me. Seems kind.
Buy yourself a portable gasheater ,they are cheap and keep you warm, atleast in 1 room!!
I just have to say the sound design in this video with the handpan music is really beautiful
Thank you so much, I love hand pan music! Instant chills when I listen to it 😁
Why no uploads?
I had a few health issues that I needed to focus on and then honestly quite a lot of stress. I’ve been recording so I have footage, just need to get the time to make the videos themselves. I’m feeling a lot better though so I do want to get back into the swing of things. I’ve edited a few but I wasn’t happy with them at all. Sorry for the lack of uploads though!
@@theNamesPhillip thanks for responding! Yeah look after yourself, totally understandable, health is No 1 priority always. All the best
@@theNamesPhillip Having just discovered the channel tonight I was wondering about the sudden lack of content but noticed the reasons here. Hope things are picking up for you and you'll be able to continue the story soon 🤘🏻
How could this last 17 years, if the oil based products has a short life span (around 1 or more years) compared to the dry ones? Fair enough if you do use it for other diy products. Is almond oil a good alternative to caster oil?
Yeah you might be right there, I’ve been using the ingredients for many other things so realistically I will never find out. Almond oil is a little too thin and greasy so it didn’t work for me in my experience
what's wrong with a good old fashioned metal thermos FLASK? Add your own flavours to the water, cucumber, orange, berry, cherry for example save the £60+ for somethng good.
I live in Finland and like in Sweden, here also forest industry is very significant for our economy. When Russia started their insane war in Ukraine, Europe can't bring wood from Siberia anymore - so of course it is cut elsewhere. Mainly in other northern countries with same trees like pine and spruce.
Is there any other brand producing zero drop shoes? I found only Altra. 🤔
if i were to make a waterbased clay, without coconut oil, how much water should i add? I was thinking of adding Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin to avoid propagating microbes due to water
What ratios would you choose for a very firm pommade? For me, the ones that work best are those that I have to rub very hard between my hands first.
What to do if someone suffers from Morton neuroma? 😮 Cannot use barefoot never again?
Waldviertler from Austria. Zero drop, some models with cushioning, some without. Fully leather build including insole, stitch down construction and easily resoleable.
Oh Lord...the previous owners knew why they were selling..note to self - when you buy a cabin in the woods, buy the woods as well. Better start saving now.
If you don't have a mortgage, why would you follow all those rules 😅 - i mean your own common sense may be good enough
What's happening with your house and the forest? Would love to see another update video ❤
In case no one has mentioned it: the floors are most likely soaped floors. It‘s the traditional flooring treatment common in many places. They WILL last, and last beautifully if you take care of them with floor soap (it‘s easy by the way) Please consider not doing the linseed oil and continue the soap treatment. (We have soaped floors and they are wonderful)
this is a damn good review very fair
Bro can we use only bentonite clay , and it is necessary to use kaolin clay??
You can but bentonite clay is typically quite rough and grainy. If you were going to choose one, I would choose kaolin
I use regular hairspray for my hair and I have to wash them every single day with shampoo and conditioner because of it. What about your homemade clay, do you need to wash your hair with shampoo every day as well ? Thank you and thanks for the time you spent sharing your ideas through your videos !
Yes I would recommend it but it isn’t 100% necessary if you get lazy like I do 😁
You need a decent sauna.
I fully agree 😂
Barefoot and zero drop aren’t really competing with each other. Barefoot allows for foot strengthening and achilles lengthening, to where it should be naturally. Zero drop kinda only accommodates the achilles issue. Having zero drop, but 20+mm stack height, isn’t correcting for poor foot health due to the shoe industry lies. TLDR: barefoot is MUCH better than zero drop for your foot mechanics. Just transition properly for “your” feet.
