Just to keep you posted I have my WLToys 144001 speed run half done, Rlaarlo AM-12X also half done. Need to find a longer road to get it to full speed, I have passing it forward video to do (brushless conversion) and a video about being stupid in the works.

I took my FTX Kanyon (V2) 1/10XL trail runner to the Peak District in the UK to see how a budget trail truck copes with the terrain. It did not disappoint! It's highly capable of getting up the muddy, rocky tracks and fording across streams (more than I was). It left me for dead on more than one occasion and that was in low gear. My Kyosho USA-1 Monster Truck. Gifted back in 1992, it has been in it's box for over 30 years after a failed start as a teen. Whatever it is, do it! I've learnt nothing is beyond limits, and for the most part, people want to see it, too. I've got a new pinion in this now for part 2, just need to get out and run it. Fingers crossed it doesn't strip anything 😅

Hi, nice build. I can give you some hints about this car because when I was at your age I got one too, but I was not that frustrated back in time because I didn’t know better, how crappy this one was. First, you should always go with ballbearings it will speed up the car much more. Second, go with a strong but slow servo, the first one was the better choice. There is no need that the car, when it stands, should steer. It only should do it while your were driving . 40 kg server is way too much. Therefore you have to be very gentle while driving otherwise it would flip easily. To get a straight line, change the angle of the front tires. It should go more inside- both of them. (toe in) On the servo saver: put a ziplock on it, it will go back faster in the neutral position, but be gentle on that, you still want the servo saver function. Or change to better stronger Servo saver.
