MIXER/INTERFACE/MIDI CONTROLLER in 1 K-MiX!!
Super late to the party but two things you got wrong. The DJS-1000 CAN be a slave like the SP-16. You have to turn off the internal clock in the utility menu to have it work as such. And second, each of the outputs on the SP-16 is mono. So technically 4 Stereo outputs if you chose to run them that way. The SP-16 with the latest firmware has two effects per channel where the DJS-1000 has only one. Otherwise, good stuff man. Liked the overview
The Question remains.. 🤔 which one would u keep if you had2 only have 1...
The sp16 let me down when it comes to the track mutes vs the djs , the track mutes on the sp16 follow the other patterns and you need to clear the triggers making it a dbl step. The DJS you can mute tracks on each different pattern.
denon is compatible with serato dj pro plug and play and you can use stems
@@saljaffer1 it might be now but it was not at the time of this video
This was great and helpful…thank you! I wonder what you would think of the Rane 4
@@Septeemberpain I think the Rane 4 is great if you use a laptop, however I use an iPad Pro to DJ with so it's not compatible with iOS so it's a non sequitur for me.
Yea I was they had an option to change the whole skin on the Mixon. Where did you get those knobs tho
Bro, how much did you pay for your sc live 4 faceplates? Do you think it’s worth buying 2 year extended warranty with live 4? It only costs about £45 or about $65. I’ve only had 1 electrical mess up on me and that was an lg tv from Amazon that only lasted 2 years . Buying warranty just feels like gambling to me. If my shit breaks. I hit jackpot and if it don’t, I waste money 😭 £45 isn’t a lot but I just spent £250 on vinyl in 1 order on Amazon and sc live 4 will cost £1000 Saying that maybe I should just stop being a bitch and pay the extra because knowing my luck, it will break shortly after 1 year mandatory warranty and I’ll have wasted £1000 and that scares me a bit 😂
The SP16 is seriously slept on. Not just for hip hop or doing. I use it for industrial and it works beautifully. Pair it up with a synth, some vocals, and you got yourself a one man band.
Is it possible to simply put regular mp3 songs on usb stick, plug into sc live 4 and browse and mix my songs? I don’t have laptop and don’t care about playlists. I just want to load songs and play. Some say you can do this, others say you can’t and others say that sc live 4 constantly losses data unless you actually make playlist via sc live 4 or laptop? Magic his true?
I agree that the MC-101 makes it easy to create dull, forgettable dance grooves, with all the classic Roland drum samples and synth sounds which aren't very interesting. The MC-101 is trying to be helpful, immediate, but that can make it appear to be generic and limited. It's not as much of a general sound toolbox like an Elektron device, where it takes a while to learn to produce anything worthwhile. However, the presets are good starting points, the sound quality is good, and there are enough ways to manipulate the sounds on the MC-101 that you can break away from the cheesy Roland-ness. I think it's a minor miracle that Roland got so much into such a reduced user interface, without making it painful to use (the shortcuts, when they've become second nature, do have a kind of sense to them, and help a lot with the workflow - examples: holding the track sel buttons to enter drum hits of different velocities, or exit-tempo to toggle the metronome). It's become my favourite musical toy, because it makes me get creative trying to find ways to do things that it's not intended for, and I've got some interesting results (and others that I'll never let anyone hear!) In a way that's much more rewarding and fun than working with a DAW, where anything is possible, but that means it's not really suggesting anything. I have fun with the MC-101, starting with a preset that I hate, and trying make music which I like with it. Perhaps that's just me!
djs 1000 for me over the toriaz as the djs can be used in studio and live performance as the toraiz is hard to use in live just because the pitch control is missing
I am a beginner I think I will buy something like this? Please I find this video after many years but it’s still helpful for me and others beginner too
Great comparison video mate. Always interesting to hear what real world dj’s think of the kit, how they use them, what’s important etc. it. Just goes to show that our approach and appreciation of our kit is as individual as we all are; what goes for one does not go for the other. I own none of these, having the prime 4, XDJ XZ mixstream pro (and many others collected over the years). Between those three controllers there is nothing newer that I need to buy that won’t give me the performance or experience that I currently have/enjoy. However, where I am wholly with you is the get up and go, little fuss with the kit when going about gigs. That amongst other things is why the P4 is my go to, and for even more convenience, the MSP (back pack taking the train for instance). Believe me, I’ve been there (djaying) from the beginning (as a school kid in the late 70’s) so seen it all. With that, interesting to hear your take on the Mixon 8. Not the most attractive I agree (although conversely I love the black), but it looks a bit too clunky, hefty, and utilitarian although reportedly does the job well, but it’s how it looks going about it (they used to say m that about Volvo cars back in the day). But the ease of use with the iPad, on e lead, is a definite plus for me (mind you not dissimilar from my wego 4, which I still use) plus has the latest gizmo’s. Anyway, keep up the great reviews 🙋🏾♂️
Can you tell me where you got the knobs for the Mixon? I own it as well and the knobs are def a bummer.
😅😅😅 this cant be real. The rane 1 literally blows those toys out of the water.
I was super excited when the Pioneer FLX 10 got announced but I was late on pulling the trigger and they were sold out for months when I got notification that Sweetwater got some Mixon 8's in. I decided to spend the money on that instead because I was dying to have 4 channel control. Fast forward 6 months and I got a FLX 10 for the DMX capabilities only to return it after a week. It was so uninspiring comparatively. The Mixon 8 is so much fun to play on. I'm super upset that the streaming services have removed the ability to use stems, but I blame that solely on the music labels. Greedy bastards. Anyway, long story short, the Mixon 8 rules, if you haven't seen Reloop's announcement of the new Mixtour Pro, you should definitely check it out. Got one of those badboys preordered the day it became available.
Denon is not a scratch control. It's not gonna have a scratch fadder or a platter design to scratch. That's what the Rane is for.
How much for the Deon 😮
*promo sm* 🎶
Fantastic review. Thanks for sharing 🙂 I got the Mixon 8 for its level of control & tight integration with dJay
I say F inmusic and crap internal build quality/corner cutting. Sadly not much is out there (yet) the mixon/pioneer route is my next buy.
Refuse to take advice from anybody that wears Crocs
Calm down, I wear them around the house in the garden. I slipped them on to make this video because I had to stand up on a chair and I didn’t feel like doing it with socks on and falling. Thought of this when I was making the video that someone would probably comment. So congratulations for being the first person make this superficial equivalency something that actually has nothing to do with the video. Sorry I didn’t put my air Jordans on for the video for you next time.
If you have any advice what you think a Dj should wear on their feet while they make a video for you tube so they meet your standards and they seem more reputable to you give I’m all ears …
@@habitat2990 my advice would be if you don't want to look like a child sex predator get rid of the crocs.
Thanks might get that denon
I think you made the right choice. Although I only own the Mixon 8. I tried the rane 1 and it did feel nice and it’s built like a tank but it just wasn’t for me either
I had to use a powered hub because I run djay Pro with an iPad so in order to keep the iPad charged I had to have a powered hub I was using the Reloop stand hub. Required a 35 W power adapter. I’d have to have three or four different cables one for charging one to iPad and then one from the hub to go into the Rane One. it’s not that bad in theory it’s just that once you get a controller that only requires one cord or a controller that doesn’t require any if he becomes cumbersome in comparison.
@@habitat2990 I totally understand, i use the reloop stand hub with 1 of my smaller Numark controllers and it works well. But once you get used to using just 1 type c cable to an iPad for setting up, you dont really want to go back. In fact the Mixon 8 Pro is the easiest setup I’ve ever used. I imagine the Denon SC would be the winner as the fastest setup if we were prepared to use its own Engine Dj software.
Thanks for sharing. I'm curious why you need a powered USB hub with the Rane One? It's already powered with built-in power supply and IEC. I'm confused. I've had the Rane One but now have REV7 and Rane Seventy with Twelves that I use the most. I almost bought a Mixon 8 but struggled to find anything it could do that I couldn't do with my NS4FX and XP2 using Djay pro. I just remapped a couple of buttons. I also used the Rane One and my Seventy setup with Djay Pro, but have found that it's always fighting with you on the moving platters if you want to turn crossfader fx on at all. It always ends up moving my stickers about an 1/8 of a turn or more if I do any scratching or other mixing which is frustrating. Thanks again. Great video.
@@seansaca sorry I guess I missed this message. I need a power supply because I use an iPad Pro it doesn't power the iPad Pro unless you use a powered tub
porovnanie hrušiek s jahodami.
That’s the point bro they’re three different controllers for possibly three different cases or three different DJs I figured I just share. Are there any controllers that are like?
Thanks for taking the time to provide this review!
You can turn the lights down.
akai everytime
I have the Akai for years and love it!
With the reloop mixtour are you able to Beat Jump bars?
"I don't need 12 inches"
Are the cases interchangeable
thank you for your review. did you tried KONTROL Z1 ? i`m somehow attracted to Z1 but so undecided what to buy
great review - I picked up a DJs 1000 - having used the SP16 in the past - Does the DJS 1000 have arrangement mode ? as the SP16 had /.
Reloop mixtour
Can I use both with iTunes Mac as mixer and external sound card without using any other software?
Does the amx work on djay algoriddim? And can I play regular old school vinyl with them?
Yes it works with algorithm as a mixer You can also customize the controls cause the devices class compliant and midi compatible. I don’t think you could use it with regular vinyl but you can use it with a DVS set up.
@@habitat2990 thank you !
Which one do ypu like the most now after using?
Thanks for the comparison video, I actually was on your channel for reloop mixtour, and waiting for Novation flkey mini. Cheers 🍻
it's back up to $34.99
Different units for different jobs.
cool video thanks im after more for performance so appreciate the in depth knowledge
do they both sync up with cdj's?
Like the reloop... Problem is I have an Android tablet... It says it's compatible with Android but many people report problems... Might just have to get a cheap used iPad
I have the SP16 and love it... Why at this point in time is the DJS1000 still so expensive??waiting for them to go on sale but they never do...fkn grrrr.
Hi there how do you map the buttons to other things and also same question for the launchpad, cheers
You’re a racist and you need to stop hating whote people
How many separate tracks are coming into the Daw?
Thank you for this review and versus! I know you must hear this often, but your the only person to explain the details of each controller and I decided to go with the "Long one".
