DIY Crochet Top - Free Pattern
What you'll need for this project:
I'm using Bendigo woollen mills 100% cotton 4ply, these are 200g balls, I didn't use the whole ball in the end but why not check out my crochet scrunchie tutorial to use up the rest.
You'll also need a 3mm crochet hook, scissors and measuring tape. My gauge for this pattern is 12st over 5cm 17rows over 5cm
Front
Chain 78.
Single crochet into 2 stitch from hook. Single crochet to end of chain.
Next 19 rows, plain single crochet.
Row 21: Single crochet twice into first stitch, single crochet to 1 stitch from end, single crochet twice into last stitch.
Next 7 rows, plain single crochet.
Row 29: Single crochet twice into first stitch, single crochet to 1 stitch from end, single crochet twice into last stitch.
Work 1 row plain single crochet
Begin Side Bust (left side)
Row 31: Single crochet 16, turn work.
Row 32: Single crochet to end.
Row 33: Single crochet 12, single crochet 13th and 14th stitch together, single crochet 15th and 16th stitch together. Turn work.
Row 34: Single crochet to end.
Row 35: Single crochet 10, single crochet 11th and 12th stitch together, single crochet 13th and 14th stitch together. Turn work.
Row 36: Single crochet to end.
Row 37: Single crochet to 2nd stitch from end. Single crochet last 2 stitches together. Turn work.
Row 38: Single crochet to end.
Repeat rows 37 & 38 until 6 stitches remain.
Row 51: As row 37.
Tie off end.
Side Bust (right side)
Work as for left side starting row 1 on wrong side of work.
Front Bust
Row 1: Single crochet 25 stitches evenly across top of left side bust, single crochet as normal until left side bust. Single crochet 25 stitches evenly across top of right side bust.
Next 17 rows plain single crochet
Row 19: Single crochet 24 stitches, single crochet stitches 25 and 26 together, continue until 26 stitches from end. Single crochet stitches 26 and 25 from end together, single crochet to end.
Repeat row 19 for 15 rows, increasing 1 stitch at each end of every 4 rows.
Row 34: Plain single crochet
Next 3 rows plain single crochet, tie off end.
Straps (left side)
Row 1: Single crochet evenly along left side bust top edge, chain 70.
Row 2: Plain single crochet
Row 3: Plain single crochet to 4 stitches from end. Chain 2, skip 2, single crochet.
Row 4: Plain single crochet, tie off end.
Straps (right side)
Work as for left side starting row 1 on wrong side of work.
Side eyelets (left side)
Row 1: Single crochet 49 stitches evenly along front left side.
Row 2: Plain single crochet.
Row 3: Single crochet 1 stitch, *chain 2, skip 2 stitches, single crochet 7 stitches. Repeat from * until 3 st from end. Chain 2, skip 2 stitches, single crochet 1.
Row 4: Plain single crochet.
Side eyelets (right side)
As for left side starting row 1 on wrong side of work.
Back
Work as for front until row 30.
Continue plain single crochet for 16 rows.
Row 18 (create strap eyelets): Single crochet 15 stitches, chain 2, skip 2 stitches, single crochet until 17 stitches from end. Chain 2, skip 2, single crochet until end.
Row 19 & 20: Plain single crochet.
Tie off end.
Side eyelets (left and right)
Work as for front.
Side lace up chains
Make 2x1m chains. Sew in ends.
Back strap chains
Make 2x50cm chains. Sew in ends.
