Bought 2 vinyl and a sweater a month ago. There were tons of stock when I bought everything. Hey Tosin. Your unrivaled vertical approach to the guitar, in terms of sweeps or tapping, really inspired me. I grew up on bands like the Deftones and Radiohead then eventually made my way over to bands like Veil of Maya or Horse the Band. I met you in Oakland and shook your hand. You played with just a drummer because Javier wasn't in the band yet. I told you you were the best guitarist in human history and your sweeps were like keyboards from the 80s playing arpeggios with a single key. I used this old 2D hand drawn animated Transformer movie to explain myself. Anyway I went crazy horizontal with my guitar. I made some crazy chord slides and my first thoughts were "this is impossible because you'll slice and the accuracy is insane". I asked myself do you wanna be one of the best? So I wrote an album plus of this horizontal slide technique style music. It knocked me off the instrument a few times because i use such wide fret reach on my chords while sliding. I was also getting anti metal noise pollution as you'd imagine. A lot of the chords slide with open strings and crazy fret reach at the same time requiring arched fretting. The amount of material i made using this approach is how i defeated the challenge itself. It all sorta came together. Another huge factor is one guitar line at a time. Now my favorite band is mogwai but I'm still more fascinated by one guitar alone. I don't mind dual tracking or two of the same though no guitarist should EVER PLAY MY SONGS OR YOU WILL INJURE YOURSELF. Anyway these two factors rewarded me greatly. The horizontal approach makes the finest note dynamic for breakdowns. The one guitar thing is just pure bliss to me. Its like i just kick everyone's ass but importantly I'm beating machines. Everyone has like 12 layers but me. Its like the last jedi beating machines or something darkly poetic. Anyway so i got two famous follows from BOO on Instagram before the epidemic. People harassed me into complete collapse. Heres the cd i made homeless in an electrical room living in cars cause no one cared.
