Opals & Clovers is a channel for creatives, dreamers, and those seeking to relax and be inspired. My name is Dedra. I'm a beadwork artist, multimedia artist, poet, plant lover, mother and wife, herbal information specialist, and compounding pharmacist. My life is soooo busy, but I intentionally slow it down by committing time to my artwork and interests.
I started this channel to help me slow down and infuse my passions regularly into my life and to follow my bliss. I share with you visual stories of my art, poetry, and beadwork, love of vintage fashion, and natural beauty. Come journey with me.

TX Hill Country Living | Will the work ever end?
The Texas Hill Country is a majestic place; a place where rolling hills meet clear blue skies. The land speaks to your soul here. However, with all the beauty here, nature is a force to be reckoned with.
In this video, I have no time for daydreaming. It is another day of cleaning up the land of brush, fallen cedar, and broken tree limbs from winter. Each season, we seem to have at least one central Texas ice storm that wreaks havoc on the region, leaving us cleaning up for months after both spring and summer have passed by.
Come along with me and see what it’s like taking care of a central Texas property in the hill country. The work and the play is all part of the country lifestyle. Even when working hard outdoors, I try to live in the moment and embrace a slow living lifestyle and mindset.

Ice blanketed our hill country home, as freezing rain fell from the sky and transformed trees into sculptures of ice. It was a frightful Arctic storm, but it was also one of beauty. Feeling the bitter cold on my face, I explored outside as the ice crunched beneath my boots. Walk with me on this beautiful journey. Sheltered inside from the frost, I used my time to plant an indoor garden and create a woven beaded project as the storm quietly coated the world outside in ice. Thank you for watching.
