Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo! Meets Courage The Cowardly Dog -Movie Review
I don't know why, but I like this movie. I could watch this move a few times a year.
Based partly on this review, I am going to pay to rent it.
I dislike the fact this movie gets a lot of hate because Michael M. isn't in the movie. Carpenter original wanted to create an Analogy movies. (Like Twilight Zone.)
In the original Silent Night, Ricky was just a baby when his parents were killed by Santa, so he should not mention what happened to the psychiatrist.
In 1985, I watched part 5 in the theater with my parents, little sister, and my father's cousin. Part 5 was the first Friday the 13th movie I saw in the theater. I ran out of the theater twice because I became scared. at the time, I watched horror movies with a fast forward button so I won't have to watch the kills.
I think New Line Cinema ruined Jason Voorhees when they copied Jason Goes To Hell from other movies.
Dude, I love this movie too! It’s a really good flick. I wish it would’ve gotten a sequel though…
@@ERB88 it’s such a shame that stupid audiences and critics trashed this movie. It’s better than the majority of movies coming out, nowadays, and people don’t even remember it. Such a proof of what kind of time we used to live in, just ten years ago.
Are you going to review terrifier 3
@@abhninjas9796 for sure, man! My original plan was to go last weekend, but I got sick last Tuesday and still haven’t gotten better. I don’t know how long it’ll take for me to get around to it, because I want to see it with my mom, since she’s a diehard fan, too. Might have to wait for streaming, since movies leave the theaters so quickly, but we’ll see what happens.
@@strangemichaelhorror just an FYI there is a little bit of religious mockery at the end if you take offense to that or not
@@abhninjas9796 So I only take offense depending on how that kind of thing is handled hahah. I think there’s a way Leone could do it to genuinely be funny, and I’m cool with that, but I think when someone like Marvel comics does it, it’s more absolute slander and you know what those writers actually believe about Christians-does that make any sense? Oh, well hahah.
Hey I was just searching your channel for reviews. I know youre a big fan of the Night of the Living Dummy books, so I have to ask..have you ever seen Magic (1978)? Stars Anthony Hopkins and one of my fav horror movies. Im pretty sure it started the whole doll horror trope. Either way would be interested to hear your thoughts on it at some point
@@paradigmshift7907 Man, I absolutely LOVE Magic! Scares the hell out of me! I wish more people knew about it. I want to review it sometime, for sure. One of the best dummy stories ever. I even own the novel it was based on.
@@strangemichaelhorror Nice! Yea it seems relatively unknown or forgotten about these days. I figured you’d probably heard of it. Look forward to the review!
I just checked this film out yesterday! It was great! The early twist was crazy! My first Tubi original, and it was an absolute banger! Surprised that reaction channels aren’t reacting to this absolute bomb of a movie! Great surprise!
@@horrorlandhorror16 From what I hear (and have seen), this is the only good Tubi movie hahah. Which is sad, because I thought it was such a freaking blast. And I agree! The reactors only cover well-known stuff, and this is a great flick that surprised the crap out of me. Reminds me of growing-up on things like Dark Ride and Dolly Dearest; the kinds of gems that would show-up on TV super late in October.
When I woke up today, I didn't know i was going to hear Jeremy Piven's ranking of the Friday movies! Good list man
In III he's the creepiest version of Jason.
The wraparound seemed totally pointless; the conclusion was a let-down and the build-up was kind of annoying. The other segments were fine but none of them had any magic. Might be time for the franchise to end. Everything gets dragged out beyond death these days.
@@itwasnotthat I don’t think it needs to end, because I love it so much, but I think there needs to be a higher quality control on these movies. Too many of these have shorts that are such massive letdowns, even for something like this movie, where you have a theme set in the idea. I just don’t get what happened lol.
Here's my seasons ranked of Channel Zero. 4. Season 1 (Candle Cove) 2016 3. Season 3 (Butcher's Block) 2018 2. Season 4 (The Dream Door) 2018 1. Season 2 (No End House) 2017
The best place to find horror movies for really cheap are thrift stores like goodwill
Agree with you a lot on these! And I did think the movie mostly sucked too. Only watched it once. My big issue with it was a lot of the could have been better segments didn’t really conclude. My favorite bit was the final one with the blond girl in the space ship. I didn’t understand it either completely but i think if they would have taken this one further along with the one where people fell out of the plane, it may have been better. A lot of loose ends and not seeing what happens a little further which I would have enjoyed better.
@@TheTerminator412 Hey, dude, thanks for watching. I’m still bummed about this movie, and I think your idea of the blond being in the ship and encountering the skydivers could’ve been so great! I didn’t even think of that! That’s the kind of thing I think 1,2,94, and 99 would’ve done right, but not Viral, 85, or this. Oh, well, hopefully next year’s will be better. Supposedly we’re getting another (which I’m still thrilled about lol)
@@strangemichaelhorror no doubt man! Ya there were lots of “what was that for?” moments in the movie that didn’t tie together at the end lol. I’m excited to hear there will be another one! I was curious about that and appreciate you letting me know. Wonder what angle or theme they’re gonna take
Oof, not good to hear lol considering you and I have similar tastes for the VHS films. Seems like the franchise peaked at 1, 2, and Shudder’s 99. Hope they can bring up but I’ll have to watch it and see how I feel 😅
@@thehorrorlander man, you were the first person I thought about when this ended, this morning, because there are so many dumb decisions that I can’t wait to see you talk about, if you review this one lmao. I’m so bummed about it. It could’ve been worse (like Viral), but it still shows they didn’t take any lesson away from the feedback people gave them over 85.
I just watched V/H/S/Beyond. I was extremely disappointed that a couple of the segments don't seem to involve aliens at all.
@@dantheman5582 Yeah, it was a big letdown, man. Can’t believe I’m seeing so many reviews where people are praising the movie so much. Pretty wild how shills work lol.
Good review

First review on TH-cam
I actually saw a bunch of them, after uploading this, but I'm actually shocked by how many people are positively rating this movie hahah. Thanks for watching, pal!
It was ok not great but not to bad either
@@riddlemaster668 I’m glad you liked it more than I did lol
Looking forward to Apartment 7A to give a chance for my Oct horror movies and counting out Rosemary's Baby haha
@@blue525252 I hope it’s better hahah
I agree it’s pretty slow and not very scary. If Mia wasn’t in this movie I don’t think anyone would be talking about it all these years later.
@@Rachel-im6yj I agree-that and the themes are the only reason weirdos have always tried to call this a classic lol. It’s well-made, but not THAT well-made, even, so it shouldn’t be regarded as this astounding thing that I don’t think it’s ever been.
Mia Farrow is fantastic as Rosemary Woodhouse. 😀👍
@@jamesmoss3424 Wish they gave her a better movie to perform in, because she was pretty good for what she had to work with hahah
Yes, Dracula untold is one of my favorites and I stop and watch it every time it comes on. I always wondered why we didn't get more. But on another note, I had to subscribe after dying laughing at your complete disdain for fan interference in the production an encore to this movie. I 100% agree with you this film was a 5 out of 5.
@@dariusgaston9389 Dude, I’m glad to see ya here! lol. I absolutely hate how normies treated movies like this and Van Helsing-both had great potential to be absolutely amazing, and these losers ruined it for all of us lmao.
Hey great review Michael! Personally I have an experience very similar to yours about Dracula Untold and Left Behind so my story is that I wanted to go see Bob Marley One Love because I thought it looked like a pretty good movie. But the rest of my family instead wanted to go see Madame Web and sadly I had sit through two hours of garbage and in my opinion I will say it is as bad as everyone says it is. And yes like two weeks later I saw Bob Marley One Love. But yeah I enjoyed Dracula Untold I think it is so underrated and needs more attention and love. Anyway thanks for reading and have a great rest of your day!
@@RossonAaronTogether Hahaha that’s great! Dude, I never thought that Left Behind movie would end, and when the midget showed-up with the best, funniest lines in the movie, I was cackling in the theaters lol. It was such an uncomfortable movie to watch with an audience-it felt like people were trying their hardest not to laugh at the guy, and he was the best thing about that terrible movie! Wish I had seen Dracula Untold instead, that day lol. My family still won’t admit they had a better time with DU than LB lol
Sounds cool. Very different. I remember the previews made it look like a war movie with Dracula folklore tossed in haha Also, another vampire creature feature on a boat just released called The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Enjoyable for the dark atmosphere and interesting take of "Dracula creature" on a boat.

Nothing much to add from my comment on the Van Helsing review tbh haha. I really enjoyed this movie for what it was and I feel like it's over hated. It's not perfect, but it really works for me. And I just need to mention Charles Dance as the Master Vampire in the cave scene. What a phenomenal, unsettling performance for as small a role he had in the film.
@@XenoTheProducer Dude, agreed! He’s so amazing in those cave scenes. Really gives me the chills-especially when he opens his mouth really wide lol
I grew up with this one, my wife and I love watching this! Glad you like it bro!
@@kevinfk915 It’s good to hear another couple of people talking about how much fun this one is!
Such a pleasant surprise to see you covering this one, mate! I know this film gets a lot of hate...but I have an absolute blast with it! The action is a lot of fun, the interpretations of the classic monsters, for the most part are really cool and of course the score is phenomenal And I also agree about Dracula Untold! 🔥
@@XenoTheProducer Thank you! lol! This movie and Dracula Untold are so unfairly hated, and it’s wild to me that people could sit around and say things like The Mummy with Tom Cruise is better than those two! It’s such a shame. I think I even have the Xbox or PS2 version of the Van Helsing game, and I’m hoping to try that out, sometime, to see if it’s as good as other fans of the movie say. Thanks for watching, man!
@@strangemichaelhorror Ah yeah, I never got the chance to try the game when I was younger, but Ive heard some mixed things to say the least haha. But, I'd still want to try it for myself at somepoint. I've heard its somewhat similar to the devil may cry games, which Im a big fan of.

@@blue525252 Dude, it’s such a good watch, even with my nitpicks. If you check it out, please let me know what you think!
Night of the Scarecrow, The Burning, and See No Evil 1/2 have always been my underground favorite slasher movies. I even liked The Hills Run Red which I know you didn’t like that much but still. For a film that: a) has never gotten a physical release besides an OOP bluray since it was released straight to vhs in 1995 b) was at one point going to be made by Amblin and Steven Spielberg to then fallout and still had to figure out how to be made c) brought the goods for straight to video movie (TNA/gore) d) is a supernatural scarecrow slasher - I do in fact love this film to pieces. It kinda reminds me of that 90’s grunge that Hellraiser III and Halloween 6 has so it stays in my mind for that, but there’s moments in this movie that are not only funny and batshit ridiculous if you didn’t know context or backstory (like the flashback scene) that it just makes me love it. It represents in my eyes what slashers should be: non-self deprecation and not something to take seriously as much as to have fun and enjoy the ride. The acting may be Friday Part V level but that’s oddly the charm for me too here. If I had any gripes with it is that the budget (albeit music and/or limitations to what they could do) got in the way here or there. But yeah this is a movie I watch every year around Halloween time. Great review I’m glad you liked it. The VHS runs like $20ish online so don’t overpay for it if you decide to add it to your collection lol! If you want the Bluray - $100+ lol.
@@HorrorFFA Bro, it’s so weird you mentioned See No Evil; I just rewatched the first one, the week before our trip, and watched the second one for the first time ever, a few days ago. Still love the original, but absolutely hated part two 😂
@@strangemichaelhorror the OG holds a ton of nostalgia but I had fun with the sequel it’s more of a guilty pleasure thing though I understand 🤣
@@HorrorFFA Bro, I don’t mean to change the subject, but you’ve GOT to watch Oddity lol. I’m dying to hear your thoughts on that flick.

@@XenoTheProducer hey, dude, that means a ton! Really appreciate that-you have no idea.
Wildly refreshing to hear someone say part 3 is dogshit lmao
@@daletheDon1 My friend Horror FFA is a great reviewer that says the same thing! lol. I hate Part 3-it’s so boring, and Shelly drives me nuts lol
Actually Jenifer Lopez isn't trained realistically. She does train Krav Maga, but the training isn't actually what you would want for Self Defense. So the training is realistic in the sense that it's what you would find at most Krav Maga schools, but it's not a good or realistic way of training for Self Defense. I do really like this movie and the fact that Jenifer Lopez does Bad Krav Maga in the film is honestly more funny then anything.
@@AldenDay-n9b I didn’t mean realistic based on her fighting styles lol. I meant more like they let her get the shit kicked out of her, again and again, and she barely wins lol
@@strangemichaelhorror Oh, thanks for bringing light to this movie though.
Lol This movie was missing the ferris wheel from the cover. What the hell Haha gotta check this one out 👍
This was one that I found decently good, didnt love it as much as 99 or 94. The segment at the end with the predicting future kills was the best one to me The 2 lake segments which came together seemed longer than needed, that Earthquake story was meh, and that Code Lyokko level graphic one was hilariously goofy to me😂 Great review brotha and god bless!
@@thehorrorlander hahahah! Code Lyoko! That’s exactly what that performance art crapfest was like! Glad to hear you found some things to like in this one, too, dude! I definitely liked it a tad bit more this time, but it’s still kind of rough. Thanks for watching, and God bless!

I can't believe I've only JUST watched this version of Dracula for the first time, about a week ago...and I have to say that despite a few issues I have with it, I really enjoyed this interpretation. It's very different to the Lugosi or the Oldman performance, but still has it's place imo. The highlight of the movie for me was absolutely the moment were Vampire Mina attacks her father.
