@@jimbusher5895 its in my mind but not dure yet how to do that. There is a lot lf changes here and there. Sometimes 2 word sometimes a whole paragraph. Also I'm reworking tons of cards. More than half has been modified already. All classes has been tweaked, new ones created...

That is a gorgeous board. You definitely need to up the rules for the likes of the Dshk. Heavy machine guns would pin or cause targets (and anyone close) to go to ground. Also only the most durable cover would have any real effect. Damage too would need to be considered, any direct hit would kill. Even a hit on an extremity would result in the loss of the limb. For jams and ammo related issues, you could take the Necromunda route and roll an additional die. This would also allow you to add flavour eg. poorly maintained weapons or limited ammunition having a greater chance. They still get the shot off, they just have to deal with a jam or reload due to being a bit heavy on the trigger. Maybe for criticals, snipers or those equipped with high end/specialist gear would have a greater chance. Nothing wild, maybe 19-20 with a max of say 18-20.
@@fomasfaith thanks for all the ideas! I do really like the heavy MG that inflict mire suppression! Will definitely have some more thoughts on that. For sniper I dont want to have critical indicated on all the soldiers cards that why I orefer to keep it as a single value for everyone.
For the civilian casualties you can use your scatter die, on missed shot roll the scatter and d6 dice to see where the bullets hit from the target. Any civilian in the path from model firing to where the bullets hit are killed no need to roll if no civilians within 6

How did you get your terrain to have that textured finish? It just takes the terrain to the next level. Brilliant table and fantastic game 👍
@@5p3cu10 thanks a lot! I've just use some plaster but its not perfect. It chip off everywhere. If I had to redo it I would use some wall fillet.
@@TheSoloWargamer Adding cement colourant to plaster helps conceal any chips. Also a handly way of applying a base colour. There is a wide range available and due to the small amount required, it goes a long way.

Just downloaded the PDF and Cards - can I ask why there are two sets of seemingly duplicate sets of cards (the 29 page document). Just printed one set on photo card and noticed the second PDF is the same cards.
There are 4 downloadable files. - The core rules - an A4 pdf containing all the nice cards - an A4 pdf containing all the cards but in a printer firendly version in text format - a zip file containing all the cards to be printed on 10x15 photo format (which is the cheaper and best quality i found to print and play those cards)
@ great. All printed and got that round edge tool you suggested. Now to get cutting. Terrain primed and factions arrive this week to be painted

Nice work, well done. I got a lot of inspiration from Matakishi's tea house as well, he has some interesting ideas (hillbillies vs aliens was rather entertaining). I make up sets of toy soldiers to give away so cost is an issue and 1:72 is the best option for age 7 and older with 1:32 for younger folks. That means I can use things like the cheap Dapol model railway building kits for 1:72 but I end up making a lot of things myself. 2mm greyboard makes a very sturdy shell for a building.

I think you missed some suppression at the beginning against some of the enemies. Also you have critical hit but no critical miss. Maybe consider on 1 if rifle/machine gun etc… you can do a weapon jam and need 1 action to clear. For RPG and grenade launchers either double the scatter distance or a +2in on scatter. You could also do the same rule as S-vest to see if it blows up. For hand throw grenade a double scatter or a +2 on scatter would make sense. Keep up the great work!

Yeah I was planning on adding the 1 that jam the weapon for the next edition, still not sure for grenade and launcher as I dont want to have too many special rules for all weapons type so I might just say that no matter the weapon used, it end the turn. Not sure yet.

What if on opposite day you play a game with someone else?
@@Mango-w4m I only have one friend that play with me but he doesnt speak english and usually we dont have time to record a whole battle report like that when we play coop together.

Great game, but I don’t understand why you have unlimited hordes of enemies in every battle against a handfull of good guys. Its unrealistic. Very rarely would these types organise massive operations that these guys pull off every game. Where is the QRF the air support the artillery support all standard stuff for professional military. Its not fun watching the bad guys win every game every week. Surely the game focus is the good guys not the enemy. I understand making it challenging but they lose every game? Or is the games main focus for the bad guys to be the hero’s?
@@granapriego the unlimited horde is done because the enemy is controlled by a basic ai behavior. Its done to add some balance to the game. Its an optional rulz so you are totally free to not use it. In real life, it would represent the fact that those operations happens deep in enemy conteolled territory thats why many enemy are around the board and arrive when hearing gunshots. In all the game battle report I did I think my team has been wiped only once. Here I didnt manage to do the objective of the mission but I still managed to extract the team so its not a complete failure for me.

If you were using d10 instead of d20, the die itself could work as a scattered die. Whichever of the two pointy ends pointing up would be the direction that you go for scattering.

@@TheSoloWargamer hell yeah! when I finish exams, I'm 100% playing this! the rules in the PDF are simple, and well written, perfect for a new player! (I'm really exited to test out Satory, Zenith and Jawbreaker!! just a quick question: does the Jawbreaker team include only the Undercover Agent and Deniable Asset? and are there any CPPO (Close Person Protection) missions, ie: you have to escort the VIP from Point A to Point B? and the NPCs have to try assasinate him? or vis versa!?)
@YT-Sash yes jawbreaker is a 2 man team. The idea is to pick a 6 man team + a 2 man team to have more gameplay options so you couls grab a 2 man cia team like hawbreaker or a sniper team... And yes there is one mission where you need bring an hvt to a board edge but you can totally create your own scenarios too!

Playing with more people, like 8 survivors, did you double the number of infected? I meant, when you roll the dice on threat token do you double the number of infected card?
The game was designed for 4 survivors in quick game mode and up to 6 in the campaign. I never testerd more. First the threat level raise with all the fire arms you take, something to remember. You could indeed also house rule that if you take 8 survivors, you just place 2 times the number of infected, or roll a 2nd time to have more variety
@TheSoloWargamer oh yeah. Its gonna be a family game, I'll play with 4 survivals, but we receive friends at home so I'm thinking to use like 7 or 8 survivors sometimes as you created a bunch of player cards. Thanks....I let you know about my games... thanks

@TheSoloWargamer Very enjoyable narrative - even though it did go pretty easy for you. Were you just lucky or was the balance maybe a bit skewed? I might be inclined to raise the threat level in response to OPFOR casualties perhaps.
@@ctorus I was pretty lucky on this one. The last 2 battle report were not so lucky you will see if you watch them ^^. I'm working on a campaign for the next version of the game and I'm thinking at some rules to raise more quickly the threat level but for the quick and easy game mode, it will stay as is. That said, when seting up your game, you can start at a higher threat level to increase the dificulty of the game.

Something with civilian casualties. Could have if more than one civilian gets killed, some locals take up arms and you automatically bump up to the next threat level and have to roll and they enter randomly on the board. Every round after that you have to roll 1 extra spawn on the threat level as the word spreads of civilians getting killed. If a third civilian is killed the threat level auto bumps up another level and etc.

I prefer your second option for the Opfor reactions. As someone with a higher level of discipline would continue to secure their own location rather than all run to the source of fire. Maybe add a moderation to the roll if they are guarding or close to an objective

I do like the idea of threat tokens reacting differently. What I do find irritating is that civilians should rush toward the action. So either reveal them when the alarm is raised, or use some other method to have civilians flee. Another thing I would rethink is that threat tokens start with full actions when they come into LOS. If you play it like you suggested a threat token can move twice, get revealed and have another two actions. Usually the opfor are not tier 1 or 2 so they shouldn’t be that good. And right now they are always running directly into the action. I would expect them to be more disoriented, ok, the helo directly above the village is a good sign where the action will be but with a night raid I would also expect more silenced weapons etc. Just my two cents 😉
Loving this Battle Rep - when building a collection for Haywire how many enemy miniatures do you think you would need to have to cover a complete game?
Thanks :)! What I recommend if 15 of the basic class and 2 of each of the specialist classes + 1 enemy leader. As you start to kill some, you can reuse them too if needed. I personally play with 20 basic and 3 specialist but it's not really needed, its just that I love collecting minis ^^
