Avalon better me

The only reason the Avalon is hated is because of price and broke rappers couldn’t afford one. While the compressor isn’t great even with the Babyface mod, at least you get a compressor.

Avalon more hi fi, Neve more traditional

1073 will always sound warmer due to its topology. The Avalon is very clear and Hi-Fi due to its class-A tube design. Two completely different animals created almost 30 years apart. I own both and use them for different sources and they both shine at what they do. Trends will trend. 💯

Avalon has more silky curves, while the Neve has very large brass balls in the mids. Both awesome - just dependent on your art form.

The Avalon sounded better here but we all know the 1073 is better 😂

Nice. Been thinking of adding one of these to mastering chain for awhile (to pair up with the Massive Passive). How is recall? Seems like it could be a pain to match L-R. Running in M-S solves that problem, but I'm pretty surprised they didn't include a link button (like they have on the Xfilter).

All this x unit sounds better doesn't fly with me, the frequencies and vibes each unit gives may or may not be suited for your vocal. There's no magic gear here, the producers job is to choose the one that works/sounds best on you.

The Avalon is the most hated... Not anymore. It's the most loved again. The way the top end cuts through the mix so lovely can't be matched (easily).

when i saw the title of this video i thought you gotta be kidding me. but props to this guy for calling out how hated the 737 is.i have one for decoration in my studio and to tell which engineers coming in actually know what theyre doing!

Density and driver all way up .and turn down the input trim then you are ok to go easy right ?

1073 has a slightly dirtier color, but I like that!
