Purtis Creek State Park, in NE Texas. Site 40 is really nice because it has an unobstructed view even when all the campsites are full. People tend to walk along the waterfront sites so this is nice to get the view without the interruptions. Just pulled in and how I unload.

This Wildlife Refuge 1 mi from Caddo Lake State Park in NE Texas was a munitions plant and storage site from WW II and closed in 1997. It is huge... 8500 ac with all the old roads still there and you can ride for miles and miles. I put in 20 on this ride. When you venture off the main roads you can see alot of old buildings and explore. I see something new every time.

1997 Dodge B2500 Van Heater Core Replacement
มุมมอง 10K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Procedure for 94-97 and should be "similar" for 72-03 WITH AC. If Dodge would have allowed an additional ONE INCH of clearance, this would be a 30 min job to remove but instead you have to remove a slew of body panel bolts just to get the core support to flex enough to get the box out. NOTE: If you are only doing the heater core, you don't need to remove ALL the screws at the interior air intak...

    There shouldn't be any SAE fasteners on a 1997 van...everything was supposed to be converted to metric long before that for sale out of North America.

      I'm rewatching the video. I have a bad habbit of skipping around. so, sorry if you explain it in the video and I didnt hear it. But just curious. I've got a 99 im wanting to do the exact same thing to. My problem is I dont have cold air in the front of the van. rear works fine. Im suspecting a dirty evaporator. Clearly Ive never mesed with an ac system on an automobile. Just recharged the freon a time or two, Just wanna know what Im getting into before I start removing ac lines. THANKS for any help you can give!

      Any fix for that?

    • @johnnyhiett
      @johnnyhiett ปีที่แล้ว

      @@infernaldaedra Turns out my heater core wasnt leaking...it was non OEM. hose clamps I replaced with OEM. Best to leave that diverter door stuck closed. It works best on inside air and keeps the dust out of the ducts. A person would have to fabricate a new door and its not needed.

    This is a "Videobob" or "RCM VIDEO" production. I did hundreds of videos that I handed directly to the bands and I never got to see them, MAGAN was a band that I used to record all the time. I do remember recording this band and I remember this era of camera I had. I had this one old tube camera with a negative function, it was intended for transferring film negative slides with an adapter but we used to do this freaky thing with it. My other camera had a "strobe" effect that I used to like. I used to charge a measly $50 or so to do these videos!! - lol

    Spectacular van. I'm sure you sold it. Really has alot going for it. Some time, sorting, and restoration and that thing is quite a nice compromise on the interior. Add back the missing seat and this could be a people hauler. Or leave that seat out and as you say, camper van potential. Wish it would have been on my radar a few years back before I bought a '76 Sportsman Royal SE 440 van. Mine is rare, but still not as appealing colors, and is a window passenger van. Plus in '76/'77 to me they really hadn't fine tuned the engineering to the best yet. '78 gets the cool body and front end, but better window sizing even if still talking a Sportsman. Then the '78 got the much improved more modern appealing looking dash, better steering column, etc. Love that mine has the big 440 and is rare package wise and all, but your old van here is really appealing in many ways and with that huge dual role potential. Pull the bed out and you could still haul stuff in back too. Great van! I know you said 245 and 275 60's on tires. I'm not sure on the wheels though, if I'm seeing the 15x9's out back or just 8" wides, and likewise up front are those 8" or 7" wides? Really good tire to wheel and wheel size/backspacing for this van.

    • @2bitProjects
      @2bitProjects 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind words yup it sold from that auction. Hated to sell but I had just lost my job after 10 years. The wheels were from US wheel and I believe were 15x9 on the rear and 15x8 on the front. they may have been 10" on the back but I believe they were 9". I have my perfect van now, I don't have any people to haul, just want to go camping and look cool, so I have a hi top which isn't "Uncle Rico" so it doesn't stuck out like a sore thumb and I love the color. Factory chrome wheels and it is a '97 model which is the last year of the same exact dash from '78 and the last year of the tucked bumper since '71. Only 109k original miles on the odometer so she will be ready for some camping once I build the interior in basically the same floor plan as my old van. Thanks again for the comment

    • @2bitProjects
      @2bitProjects 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NicholasMaietta It is all based on condition, there is no flat answer. I sold mine for $4800 and I thought it was a little low and would have sold it for $6000 if I had time to wait for the right buyer but I needed the cash right away. If it was on the West coast, it could have gone for $8000 because the scene and popularity is much stronger there
