Private Pilot Check Ride Prep With My Instructor! Local Flight Around KPTK Airport.
Footage from a flight a few weeks back, with my new instructor Jacob as we were working on check ride prep. I have since passed my PPL checkride, and have now officially become a Private Pilot! Was a long and interesting journey on the road to getting the ppl, but I wouldn't trade it for anything! Proves you can really do anything you set your mind to!

Just going for a peaceful early morning paramotor flight, when my gopro decides to fall off my helmet on launch, and slip through the cage, and somehow not get hit by the propeller. Luckily found the gopro, picked it back up, and relaunched to resume the sunrise flight. Rest of the flight went beautifully.

Prism Synapse 200MM Sport Kite Flying! Beautiful 70 Degree Michigan Day.
มุมมอง 2.9K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
At my local RC flying field, was an extremely nice, but windy day, probably about 20mph winds, gusting 30mph or so. Too windy to fly RC airplanes, or Paramotor, so i figured i would break out the kite! gotta have something for every wind condition!!

A little late but congratulations! Are you using any custom lenses with your camera or is it stock?
@@AeroAdventuresYT the camera is all stock besides a media mod case that allows me to plug a mic into it for the audio. And thank you!!
"unless there's a ghost in here 😎 " *moments later* *Nervous laugh* "aha...ha 😧" 😂
If you fold the sectional in a rectangle with your true course center alone the longer part, you can then put it on your knee destination up. Now everything out the right side of the airplane (read from ground up to map) should be right of the line, left side left. If you have a wind correction heading fine, but without significant crosswind put the first checkpoint between your legs. Use rudder only to keep the target, the checkpoint, between your legs (hands are now free.) Now notice any drift away from the true course as you see it on the ground. If the wind correction angle is more than ten degrees, set that heading and use rudder yaw only ( hands are now free) to direct your butt to the first checkpoint. Either way, notice that rudder is a finer wing leveller than aileron with it's adverse yaw problems. Notice how the true course line on the map cuts across N-S section lines and across E-W section lines. Keep that angle regardless of how wind changes. You will find that keeping the wing level by nailing the target with rudder yaw also gets ahead of gust disruption as well. This is because you are moving your feet to stay ahead of the airplane. Wind 310 at 9 gusting to 14. So you have the nose left of the target a bit. If you crab until you need to align on runway 35, keep driving your butt to target (centerline) with rudder only. Nice job with the crab. Good job with the landing. Listen to the old crop duster and use your feet only to nail the centerline and the wing and gusts will be already taken care of. Stay off that steering wheel because it, not the gusts, is causing the wing wagging. Good job all around. You have a good instructor.
Good job on the XC just did my solo a couple days ago and you got me excited for XC ! What are you using to record your flight ?
@@ChrisBarnikow nice man, you got this! Just stay consistent! The camera is a GoPro Hero 12 Black.
I cant wait to start learning. Thanks for this encouraging video!
@@zappatx You're welcome!! Good luck on your journey, you got this!
Nice work man!!
Congratulations on passing your written. 95% 👍
Beautiful flight brother proud of you keep going !

@@DlyaProsmotraEv Thanks! Its a Gopro hero 12 black.
Beautiful flight, reminded me of my solo days. Keep up the good work!
Good video , it made me feel like I was there.
Haha perfect! That was the goal.
Not sure I could do it but it does look relaxing😃
It is very relaxing! You could do it too!!
Hey! Nice work. I Fly out of Mason KTEW. I’m doing my check ride prep right now. I totally know what you mean about facing your fears. I was a wannabe pilot for 30 years but because of fear and money, I kept putting it off and now at age 40 I’m finally getting my PPL. No better feeling than facing your fears and conquering them. Still can’t shake the fear of engine failure right after takeoff, but I still go up as often as I can lol. I have a video on my channel about my first solo and I talk a lot about facing your fear. Good luck in your aviation journey and fly safe! Maybe we will cross paths sometime since we share the same sky.
Nice work man! I can tell you really prepared. Just starting my training and have a major fear of being in that PA28 solo in the busy airspace here in FL!
good job bro! I just finished my first xc solo this morning. I gotta be real I was nervous! It went t well though. My 2nd xc is Tuesday, then maybe my long xc next weekend. looking forward to it. Keep killing it in your training!!!
Not a fan of straight in landings, especially as a student. To be fair, i didnt depart the area properly on my 1st solo XC. Happy Flying!
Noticed you said you were going slow compared to plan a couple times. My guess is because it looks like you're running about 2100-2200 RPM and I imagine you planned TAS for more than that, maybe around 2300-2400. That's a good looking panel too! Also, do that brake check BEFORE taxing. Good job at keeping altitude, had that pretty much pegged at 3,500.
Thank you for that advice! I think you may be correct about the RPM setting that was throwing my calculations off, maybe that and a tad bit stronger headwind than accounted for. At any rate thank you for that advice, and the view!
its impressive i have few questions i am interested in flying and getting ppl I have cleared the theory exams and medical. I am just worried that I am literally a newbie would it be even possible for me to even fly somewhat impressive like you
I'm obviously not the one who posted the video, but I do have a PPL. First things first, just find a local flight school. I recommend going through Part 61 schools and paying as you go. Don't take out a big loan if you can help it. They will be able to train you and get you going. It's good to watch flying videos and stuff, but really there is no substitute for an in-person instructor. So just google the nearest flight school to you and go check it out.
just as @martyadams5551 said, the best way to get into flight training is to first save up some money, and I would then recommend to go to your local airport that has a flight school, and to schedule something called a discovery flight! Sometimes you just have to take that first leap of faith, and go for your dreams! Keep a positive mindset you can do anything that you set your mind to! I was unsure and in your same position at one point, and I know if I can do it, then you can to!
Your DPE for your checkride will appreciate that you talk to yourself
My first cross country landing looked exactly like that. Then the others kept getting better and better as you develop your own way of doing it and implementing the instructor teachings. Good job buddy! I'm almost 40 and I'm chasing my dream to become a pilot so keep it up!
This is so awesome to see you flying planes! Congrats Kyle!!!!🎉
Good job
Cost me $17/hr, gas included, 1985. Brutal today, I betcha.
Nice video, good job… subbed 🤙
Good job! Resist the urge to use both hands on the yoke. You can fly enroute (all phases if you trim well) with your thumb and index finger on the yoke. Helps you to not over control.
Nice video bro, what camera do you use?
Thank you! GoPro Hero 12, 4k 30fps settings.
@@Liveyourlifez Thanks bud
Nice job man. I got my PPL in 2019 just for fun since I live at the end of a small airports runway. the solo XC was the best.. when you really feel like a pilot that can go adventure places. I have about 120hrs now and sometimes I have to remind my self to ENJOY the flight and look around and relax a bit.. but at the same time.. monitor all the gauges LOL.
Old school? Love it ❤ The day I see an ipad with you, would be the day when Aviation would die.
A lot of people are taught to use a iPad. Most people just don’t want to go the old school route.
Memorable Experience. Happy Landings!
Awesome stuff! I just earned my Private last spring. I fly out of Lansing and flew to KPTK for my required XC night flight. Your airport can be insanely busy!
I loved flying the PA-28. It was my first low wing aircraft. Great job!
Keep up the great work! I look forward to seeing more of your content #PiperWarrior fam. I recently received my Complex Endorsement and I feel like a student in the new Piper Arrow with retractable landing gear and constant speed prop. I'm keeping my certificate current by flying weekly, renting and planning on becoming an owner next year. +1 sub Fam!
great video and love your thought process! we can do anything we want with our lives we choose how to live them so chase your dreams!
Awesome job my friend. Love your vids. I train in a warrior also. 👍🏽
Nice job brother. I also train in a Warrior and next week I'm supposed to be getting a pre-solo review. Your video is good motivation. Keep the vids coming!
