I will never get over the final four loss to Wisconsin. I believe the score was frozen at 60-56 UK for seemingly forever. They were almost home to simply win the game on defense when somehow the biggest blown call, or non-call, on an obvious shot clock violation affected the final minute and a half or so. At the time there was no replay allowed that would have rectified the situation. Is it definite UK would have won? No, we will never know and they certainly are to blame for going into a deep freeze on offense at the wrong time. Cal could have written his ticket for life with a 40-0 team. In the end it was an underachieving tenure to win only 1 title with the talent he had.

And they went down to the mighty Badgers...

This team reminded me so much of one of pitino's teams. They were physical, they were dominant on both ends of the floor, they just had it all. I remember when we lost that final four game, and just how heart broken I was, but at the same time, so proud of those young men, and what they were able to accomplish that year. I think this is the year where calipari's fire at kentucky had gone out. After this team, we didn't do much after that, especially these last 5 years.

With a team this absurdly talented it's easy to ask what went wrong. The reliance on inexperienced nba prospects, shortcomings of a coach that depends heavily on the talent of his players to succeed, lack of in-game adjustments, and overconfidence, it was just enough for wisconsin to shut them down and stop what would have certainly and rightfully been considered the greatest team in college basketball history of which the likes would never be seen again. And they really won't. You'll never see another team that is on paper even remotely comparable to this one. There never has been and never will again.

This shows how crappy of a coach Calipari really is... there's no doubting he's a great recruiter, but in terms of coaching/ getting the most out of players, this outta prove it... give any decent coach this roster and there winning a championship 100%.. this team was literally stacked 10 deep, and a below average coach .could've won a championship with this team

This is a completely unbiased opinion I just watch ball for fun but this is easily the greatest college basketball team ever they were so dominant it was ridiculous nobody was stopping them I still believe that Wisconsin game was rigged for money by Vegas and that if Uk had actually wanted to win they would have destroyed the badgers and destroyed duke in the title easily

As a UK fan since 1972 in football and basketball for over 6 years uk has nothing noteworthy. Caligari only 1 championship that is all in all the decades he has coached. He is no Rick pitino nor Jordan b. Hall! 8 future pro players on a team can not win a championship! At this time uks baseball team is 3rd in sec....interesting.

Duke did not win the championship as much as Louisville did in 2013. 1) UK and WISC were by far the two best teams and were put on the same side of the bracket. Committee had WISC as the 4th overall 1 seed. 2) The winner of that Final Four game was going to be drained after that. Duke walked through Michigan State. 3) Grayson Allen drew a bunch of phantom fouls ala Tyler Hansbrough. When are fans going to start demanding a better tournament format. This is 100X worse than the Bowl Division in football.

It’s insane how many times I’ve watched this, not only inspirational; but reminds me why I want to be a cat

Wisconsin committed over 100 fouls in the last five minutes. I've seen it three times. Holds or pushoffs on every cut. Pushes on rebounds. An intentional foul where Josh gasser jumped on trey lyles back to keep him from catching an oop that wasn't called and ended up a turnover. Even with all that, you take away the shot well after the shot clock expired, and the shot made by a player who caught the pass before reestablishing himself inbounds and it's our ball, tie game, shot clock off. Instead of down 4. A ref in that game went on to openly and blatantly call the game unfairly in multiple kentucky games over the next two years, culminating in an elite 8 loss to the eventual national champion. He cost us 2 national championships in a 3 season span. Fuck John Higgins. You can watch it yourself. There are multiple compilations of his work. It's disturbing.
