If you’re doing any kind of precision grinding you never turn that wheel off until you’re done. If you do you have to redress the wheel every time. Nice work though.
เขาไช้เหล็กหรือว่าอะไรทำ
Nice and concise but thorough, My shooting hand has certain areas covered in carbon, guess it blows out any opening. I certainly like the follower that is polymer, concave and anti-dip, I have some with flat metal with a bump right in the middle-makes it hard to unload them! also they have extra lip that 's supposed to make it anti-dip but doesn't.
Very Nice! Great Workmanship! Thanks for showing this.
Great Job! Question: Did you blend the thumb safety in the "On" position. My MPA DS9 LOC firearm is killing me when I draw it from the holster having the Thimb safety in the safe position. Is the RO req on Stelel Challenge.
Yes this can be a issue on a 70 series 1911. If it's a 80 series they have a firing pin block.
I love mine. 😎🇺🇸🇮🇱👍
Great guy !
Easily got my thumbs up. Was no stupid music, got to hear the actual sounds of the content, person learned to talk to provide details, and the content was interesting to follow along. Thanks for sharing
Have you ever made a mirror 1911 and make a total left-handed 1911 like Randall firearms did in the 1980's?
your 1911 is awesome what is the brand?
So Good, Quality, congratulation 🎓
Can you make a ideo of the must have tools needed to build a 19/2011?
acc u rail.
Where's part 3?
It boils down to why do it if you don't have to! Anytime you slam hard metal to hard metal it will take its toll in the long run. I respect my machinery whether it's my car, lawn mower, or gun.
What bluing method?
Theres literally no physical evidence of this anywhere. 😂
Very cool
I used to do this type of work, except on turbine fan blades. Now I'm disabled and can't do this type of work anymore and I just received a Springfield Loaded Operator Marine Corps. 45 that looks the way your gun looked at the beginning and it's making me insane because I can't afford to have someone else do it. Of all the guns they sell, why would they put out a Marine Corps-branded firearm that has such a horrible fit and finish. It's an insult to the Marine Corps, in my opinion. Damn, you really did a fantastic job on that gun though. I very much enjoyed this video.
I milled a bushing for my Coonan 357 by hand. The pistol is now much more accurate🎉
Oops, hate when that happens!
My ww2 a1 got way sloppier than that and it still shoots like a laser beam with 50yds
Even a drop in barrel needs bushing fitting.
Taking a caliper to the hood and slide could give you the measurements needed to fit just before final removal of material.
massad ayoob talk's about not 🚫 dropping your slide on your 1911 , he says it's literally like a kitten 🐈 dieing LoL 🤣😆🤧 and he makes a meow noise .
Thanks for informing us what goes into building your 1911
where is part 3
would much rather hear you than the speeded-up footage, when competent speaking is being done do not strive for short videos
Don’t know where you learned to fit barrels but it’s pretty much all wrong
Nothing you said makes a true
I am ex military and own several 1911's with worn barrels two of which I am fitting barrels to (an RIA I am fitting an Ed Brown barrel to and a Les Baer I am fitting a Wilson Combat barrel to): *_ Both these weapons will fire for hours without a misfire or fail to feed with reasonable accuracy_*, but they have the same problem; firing pin strikes visibly low on the primer on all spent cases ( I mark the cases with magic marker on the top as I load the magazines). I have all the necessary files from Brownells to fit barrels, but I am out of my element. I am past the points in your barrel fitting 1 & 2 videos. Wish I had found this sooner. I will pay for your time to give me a few pointers. I want to do at least a few barrels by myself now that I am retired.
Well, im disapointed. No part 3. You had a perfect oart 1 &2, but nothing on barrel link size, foot width, vis ect, ect. 😢 I was looking forword to that. There is only one video on the subject, that goes in depth anyway, on the internet.
Would to see a follow up video on how you prep for blueing and the blueing process you use. Thanks!
What machine is that? The color could be Mats... BT holder..... I ran some of those old Mats years ago... they were bullet proof.
You should also just never fire your gun. My bad. Future fudd
Do your 9mm commanders use ramped barrels?
Man I need to save up my money for one of those 👍
Cool video 👍
The hood fit should not touch the barrel lugs align the the barrel gunsmith’s that build target pistol’s believes that binds the barrel
Also, note the useful tips in Kuhnhausen Book 1, p.45 on springing and fine tuning barrel tilt with a broach cutter.
Just like I do it. Good video. Now, do the edge beveling on the slide for carry
Very interesting video. Thanks for sharing this useful information with us. What tool would you use to make the radius all around the handle ?
You need a Godfrey Stuck Bushing Driver for when the bushing is too tight and won’t come out of the slide.
You talk a lot of shit !! instead of building ....
One thing you didn't address in this video, but if you are going to cerakote the gun, do you need to make this tolerance a bit looser? Or do you mask it before coating?
Crickets
god that looks beautiful
Just an observation several other gun builders choose to start off by using file work initially then switching to the dremel. Is this just personal preference? Or do you find using the dremel makes it easier?
I built my 1st 1911 GI a few yrs ago, I always wandered why the hell they cost so much!! Yeah well I realized “Why”! Every single part in that gun had to be hand filed, polished and fit to perfection!!! Thankfully, I’m good at it because now I have one hell of an accurate gun! I’ve always been fascinated with the 1911 because of WWII ! But I love it even more after building one..
