Hello, I'm thinking about building a Mystic 84 aswell, but I don't know which strut fits. Which one have you installed now? Thank you very much!
Hi Original from MHZ
👍👍👍😀👋
Nice and stable run, and good speed as well. Its no record, but a good run with no damage is a success as well for me 😎
I ran up to 47x1.4 on previous setup 2000kv/4082/6s... From my understanding a brushless motor will try to pull whatever you throw at it (till i breaks, shortens out, overheats, etc). Could be wrong about that, but the best way is to test it, and you did...
@@peteroosterhoff8850 what we can do more when we reach the limit of the boat,we try different things
@@daiciuapostol79 don't exactly understand what your meaning. You mean how the hull runs, or limit on electronics or something else...?
@@peteroosterhoff8850 I wanted more and I tried 7s, but the boat cannot be controlled, this for me means that it has reached its limit, it cannot support more power, so I went out to try theoretically bearable settings for the boat
@@daiciuapostol79 ok, now i get it. I think it isn't like you have a bad running or slow boat by any means, but you could consider to try something like a ride pad. Think its do-able and repairable if it doesn't work. Or maybe build a bit larger hull...? Dont know how big it is, but personally think most mono's are quite wide, for speed i would guess a bit longer (and low profile) would make it faster... But generally i think your home build boats all (also Cozy) run very, very good.
I just wanted to see if the old engine could turn such a big propeller
My experience so far is low rake (like x647) run more stable than hi-rake (like abc). So i run preferably x style, if i want fastest speeds i run hi-rake. Also noticed with hi-rake i need to be more subtle with accelerating so i don't "upset" the hull...
@@peteroosterhoff8850 thanks Peter I think that because of the position of the batteries I can't find the optimal setting because my boat is very stable with ABC propellers, all my records were made with ABC and a Titanium propeller also high rake as I think you know this, so I think that due to the fact that I use 3+2+2s for 7s and the position of the two 2s is not in the center of the boat but somehow on the side, the boat becomes unstable above 115 kmh
@@daiciuapostol79 Just thinking i remembered what i noticed (before i worked the hull!) was that the hi-rake first with 2000kv was just fine in its handling, with 2310kv boat almost was un controleabel (shime walk) Don't know the effect was from hull or prop. Weight off centre personally don't think it affects its extremely unless its a lot off course or high up in the hull... Btw i had laying around a motor which i thought was old 1800kv (also needed to replace bearings so also could be something wrong with it), but gave same speeds, so ordered the newer version. It was on backorder so i most likely won't be doing a all out 8s run this year...
2:45 very nice pass! Except for the prop accident it was a good day!
@@kaprc631 thanks, I whill try again tomorow
@@peteroosterhoff8850 nice new motor, let's see I will try again tomorow morning
So 3mm from the side 3mm from the bottom not more otherwise it will cause drag, make them parallel to your sponson so they will be straight, reguards the positioning contact mhz to fix your issue
@@nicholasrc234 ok
Too bad it was so windy, and the setup power cuts. You would think this motor pulls less amps than your higher kV TP's 🤔
Yes no more glass water 😢 The motor pull to much A on this heavy 7s boat on start, hey but I need only one good pass😅
Perfect 👌
Yes very rare this passes
Perfect water the boat looked fast and flat planted very good job sounds awesome
@@KevinTodd a pass like this happens I think once in a lifetime, but we run for one like that (SAW addicted)😁
It sure is, and it looked very fast too!
@@CozyRC how not to love this 😊 yes my PB pass 129km/h
Nice runs! And good speed, especially on 4S 👌. Wow, the lake looks like it contains green paint! I know it's a natural phenomenon;)
the water is still very warm, that's why there is algae on the surface, the engine is quite warm on the 6s, something didn't work as it should (non-compliant batteries?), maybe I have to destroy them so as not to regret it later
after some time I brought the old Leopard engine back to life, a few passes on water full of algae after a hot summer, on 4s it was stable and a predictable speed for the rusty old motor, on 6s after a strange power cut on the first pass, (the first one with ztw)maybe the engine woke up suddenly and asked for power, but the two 3s packs already have a swollen cell each and couldn't keep up with the engine's demand, the jumps are due to the piloting she don't like tight turns at speed
Nice, I almost forgot you had this hull as well. It's a DIY build, right? What was the setup?
Yes it was DIY😊 Setup,Seacking 180A v3 motor Dynamite 3831(36/56mm) 2000kv 6 pole ,4s sls speed edition battery and tfl 443 prop

I have been calculating from that tip you gave. It should get it around the 100mph with my current prop (which is not super stable) and if it stays on the water. Don't know if im willing to risk that. But its an interesting and tempting idea that it might be possible! Even with a budget motor...
@@peteroosterhoff8850 there are many things to take into account, even the driving style, I always start with fewer cells and then go to the maximum setting
Great passes, so smooth and effortless 👌. I need a twin cat in the future, too 😎

Congratulations, 70 knots and no smoke!
Nice... My goal is bigb his record. Then i'll stop most probably. I crashed previous (second) run and got some damage. Its a huge risk every time i take it out for a speedrun and not planning to run it every time on the limit.
@@peteroosterhoff8850 I know the risk 😔
So I dig a little bit about " bigb" record 91 with a flip 🤔 Check this guy record same boat like you th-cam.com/video/wvbPr96RpUE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TbEQnonh93fDq98w Much better setting the boat👌
@@daiciuapostol79Yes your definitely right! Thats how it "normally" should run... Found some specs earlier video. Also sss but 1800 (not 8s rated) motor on 8s and looks abc 2 blade. Even have that same motor in other boat... My boat ran way more stable with x647, but cant get these speeds. It is interesting, but not sure if want to go even faster... Every crash is still a huge risk. Would feel more comfortable doing it with completely new hull which i can reinforce to my likings. My old v1 isnt as strong as newer one....

@@czkarting yes no limit cell lipo 😎
Ran today new pb. 84mph and not end of it. My cnhl are defective so had to run lesser battery. Also without shortened rudder...! Both measures apart 6mph difference (but not together) so there is some left, just dont know how much...
@@peteroosterhoff8850 WOW that is high speed,8s? And better don't use that battery 🫣
@@daiciuapostol79 yes 8s, 1650kv motor... Next time i will take somebody with me to film. Hopefully i get this week a replacement lipo. Then i will first run it stock rudder, and then probably shortened one so i know the difference. Bigger pond helpt a lot. So can go easier on the throttle. Didn't crash one time
@@peteroosterhoff8850 you have setup for 100 if you find the right prop
@@daiciuapostol79 think i call it quits after these runs. Ironvlad told me his record was 91, that would be nice. Also considering i have cheap motor, not as good lipo's, 200A less esc i would consider that as an achievement for myself. But technically speaking there might be more room. I ran almost 4min without overheating, so a single saw run with bigger prop might be possible...
@@daiciuapostol79 yes, was very, very lucky i guess. Lipo had a punctured cell! Looks like it reacted itself closed again. There was some black molten sandlike spot were it was punctured... I closed it and it lays outside now. Later i will remove the cell, in this case easy because its one on the outside...
Ive read reducing diameter (blade tips) makes them better (buy 1 size bigger than you need). Can't tell its true. But did it with my 3 blade, but also changed bottom hull... Picked already up more than 10kph and was not trying to beat my pb since it wasn't my fastest prop and it was my first run after changing things, so i was very surprised! Think both contribute to better speed, but keeping in mind prop is reduced in size that normally would cost speed. Something you maybe could try with a prop (not your best off course).. Take baseline and then reduce tips...
@@peteroosterhoff8850 thank you, I know about these little tricks, but I just clean the hub and the blades well of the casting marks without changing the shape in any way, then I sharpen and balance as best I can
@@daiciuapostol79 well, thought i'll let you know since you try to set speed records for yourself. I was totally surprised. Didn't even run my shortened rudder blade which made with other prop about 6kph... Considering i wasn't trying, i think it it save to say both changes would make about 15+kph. But bit scared now to try now. This abc (1817/23) makes boat definitely less stable than the x647. Have to be more subtle with throttle and therefore need more room to run it... Went yesterday to look for new spot.

That's fast! 👌 Is it running cooler with the pump?
@@czkarting yes fast but a bad finish, I use the pomp because here we have very hot temps +37°C and water have +28°C
77 is fast for a little boat like that that's set up right there you better remember everything you did and check it twice I understand the water was pretty and clear and race water you wouldn't be going that fast it'd be a lot choppier but yeah you write that one down good job
a different propeller from ABC but still I ran with the same settings on stinger and trimtabs, curiously stable and free
Nice setup! The boat runs very loose, and fast 👍. Nice prop sound too 😎
@@CozyRC Yes but not fast enough 🤭,I don't know what else to try to beat my PB🤔I'm already on a knife edge with setting up the boat🫣 Thank you for your support every time🙏
@daiciuapostol79 You could try a shorter rudder blade, for less resistance
@@CozyRC I don't whant to cut this one🥺
@daiciuapostol79 make a new one!
again I ran a hydro propeller on 4s, the battery 1 cm further forward to compensate for the lift of the boat and trimtabs 1 mm above the boat line, the rudder blade straight, the water pump because it is very warm +28°C water temperature, risky setting but everything ended well I think, the boat constantly runs +100 on 4s,goal 110 kmh maybe with new 4s battery
In my opinion, not a good prop for this boat. You can hear the load on the motor. Too much pitch, and therefore, cavitating as well. 🤔
for me it's hard to tell the difference just from the sound of the engine, yes a propeller for hydro I think than for a vhull, it cavitates a lot when starting but when it gets up everything is ok except for the jumps that were due to the small waves created from the previous passage it seems that with this propeller it is very sensitive to these waves, but it seems promising at least on 4s with 6s to much lift maybe different setup on stinger
@@daiciuapostol79 The rpm seems to drop a lot from cavitating to 'grip'. In combination with your comment that it already destroyed esc's and a motor, I wouldn't use that prop on a V-hull. Only very light running hulls, who can take the prop load. What was the speed on 4S?
@@CozyRC 98 km/h with 6 mm less prop, I have +3mm stinger setup

@@peteroosterhoff8850 yes it's fast and stable with this big prop but to hot esc and motor maybe a lower kv whit high voltage will help
@@daiciuapostol79 48 hi rake i never tried, but know they need more amps from my smaller props.
