It's not the best film ever made nor is it even a great one and here is why: SPOILERS When at the end it was revealed that Dr. Will Guber was his son and he didn't recognize him, because he used to have a beard isn't believable. Surely you'd remeber the facial features of your father and the voice. And lets for a second pretend that he is way too young to remeber those, there would still be photos. If not in a family album then at the school year book he worked for. The only way this movie could of been good or okayish was if it was never revealed that he was actually 14000 years old leaving the audience make the decision based on what they had heard just like the other characters trough the movie are doing.

I’m a 34 year old dad and the sport was introduced to me by my 5 year old boy about five months ago. It’s a great way to cross-train (I’m a mountain biker) and it’s an effective healer since I destress by skating with my son. This video was spot on.

One word, brother - neuroplasticity. When you experience a brain injury as severe as yours, all the newly killed neurons cause the synaptic connections in your brain to crash or wither, which causes your whole synaptic highway to crash or wither. In the months or years following during the healing process, you re-map your synapses with your remaining neurons and get the opportunity to change yourself in the resulting neuroplasticity, a level of neuroplasticity that few adults ever get to experience. I experienced a similar (albeit much less severe) TBI two years ago. No loss of consciousness, no major structural damage save for an outward hematoma and a chipped brow ridge/orbital bone. I thought I was fine, but ended up being clearly concussed, and then suffered through debilitating post-concussive syndrome for most of the last two years. At the height of it, I was experiencing some really gnarly narcolepsy, which almost ruined my life a number of times, among a number of other scary symptoms. I wondered if I'd ever skate like I did before, or if I'd ever finish school. Now, 2 years later, I still struggle with some of that stuff, but thanks to a ton of hard work I find myself to be a better skater, and a smarter person in many ways. Much of this I attribute to the people I have around me being good influences - I switched to figure skating from skateboarding after the concussion (though I still commuted to school via board, and never stopped street skating entirely), and to a shit-load of hard work put into the healing process & re-assessing my approach to skating, school, and life as a whole. I've become vastly more technical and careful than ever before. I kinda count myself lucky because if I had the same injury at a different point in life, without the aforementioned wonderful people around me, I might've never re-assessed my approach with skating, and probably would've been infinitely more likely to lose my intellect or develop life-ending CTE at a young age. Granted, I never lost any of my skating ability in actuality - I skated away from the concussion, and skating was pretty much the only thing I could still do competently while acutely concussed/for the first year of my PCS. But, the loss of feeling immortal/invincible, the loss of my conscious thought process and the fear I might never be the same intellectually/mentally, that scared the shit out of me, and it definitely affected my skating for a bit once I stopped skating like a suicidal maniac following the first few weeks of acute concussion. Keep it up with the skating man, you're killing it <3
