I get the head back from the machine shop where they cleaned it. looks like it's brand new! one minor problem have to order 2 exhaust valves.

starting a gym journey to be heathier and feel better about myself. this was the first and most I've peg pressed since I was in school and it felt GREAT!! won't post a lot but some here and there

They want no less than $4,000 from one place that I've called so far to rebuild it. But I have to bring them the engine so that means that I have to buy an engine lift and maybe even an engine stand so that's like $400 if I get them from Harbor Freight plus who knows if or what's going to break or going to have to be replaced when I go to finish taking it apart so that it can be removed and taken out so I think that I'm just going to see if I can get a whole nother truck and maybe just use this one for parts because it's got the AstroBody fiberglass box on the back that I can turn into a camper or travel trailer.
Can you do a video on checking the valve clearance on this bike?
Once I have it all torn apart I could. I may or may not have blew it up at the end of this video. Will be posting again in a few days with a tear down

the purple box was a master series. the new storm gray box is a EPIQ series.

@@mrDelaney Thanks. I just started taking mine apart because it's getting antifreeze in the engine so I'm guessing that either the head gasket is blown or the heads blown.
@@mrDelaney Is there going to be a part 3 and 4 and so on? Or is it done? What's the status?
@@luigiprovencher8888 oh this will be a "series" just got the right spring compressor tool today so when I get off in the morning I'm filming taking the intake valves out. Should be a short video hope to have it up either tomorrow night or maybe Friday

I need to replace the head on mine. The exhaust manifold surface is not true and I am just going to replace the whole damn thing. My question is - Can the head be pulled with the motor still in the truck? I'm not paying a shop $3k to replace the head if I can do it in my driveway
You ram it out of oil and the motors is cooked, what a surprise lol
Ouch. Heard those head studs were a nightmare. Torqued to yield. One time use.
Yup this was the only time I messed with it. I don’t know if they have been messed with. Luckily the snapped pieces came right out with no issues
Thats with nearly all engines though. Factory bolts are torque to yield and are one time use unless you put in arp bolts or studs

How many miles did it have? My valve cover gasket went bad at 130k replaced everything and haven't had an issue other than the valves rattle on start up. Also what did you use to snap those studs? That sucks!

Was only 5 miles over. Oil pressure sensor went bad and was burning it all

My problem is the old bolts that hold down the ignition coils are broken inside the holes
Any idea where to get forged rods for this engine?
Molnar technologies offers floating and press fit for the 6 cylinder 4.2 so I guess you'd purchase those rods and just have an extra
Why was it run out of oil?
Alexis DeVille bad valve seals from what I could tell. The oil pressure sensor went bad so I didn’t know till it was to late. My fault for not checking regularly
How many miles were on that engine??
226xxx but it was a bad oil pressure sensor and leaking valve seals that did it in. burned up all the oil and never got a warning light
