    That was a good ride and showed trails, roads, sidewalks, a horse, plenty of cars and intersections and a power pole. Plus people.

    Like your video. I ride a gekko 26 and I'm flying up to SFO from LA in late May for this years aids ride. First time flying with my trike and gear bag. I need to get from SFO to my hotel...thinking of using bart. Will need to reassemble my trike at airport then wheel it onto bart with my bag to get to hotel near cow palace. Any suggestions?

      Sorry for the delay of this reply, I've had to deal with health issues. At the time of making this video I was able to commute on BART during commuting hours on one of the last two trains. I have since retired and am no longer using BART to commute. I believe that you will be able to use BART by folding your Trike and wheeling it onto BART as luggage even during commuting hours. Just be mindful of the other commuters. I remember some frowns during the filming of this video from some people around me. I got the sense that they did not like me taking up the space of my fully loaded and assembled trike. Please tell me if this helps at all or not and share your experience. I still believe we as trike riders should be able to take advantage of BART like everyone else. Good Luck.

      @@darkskys163 thanks for the reply....I'm also retired and sold off my truck back in July as I wasn't using it much living in west hollywood where everything is in walking distance. I do use my trike and trailer for large grocery runs. I'm looking at ways to get to SF from LA in May...was planning on riding up the pacific coast route until we got all the storms hitting it causing damage to US 1 and the state parks. Now looking at riding up the ALC route and camp or warm showers on the route....or disassemble the trike, box it up and fly to SFO...then reassemble the trike at airport, bungee my gear bag to the seat then wheel it onto BART and take it as close to the cow palace and then wheel it to my hotel till the ride starts. Or find an UberXL or LyftXL that I could fit my XL bike box and gear bag into to get to my hotel.

    At about the 31 minute mark you come to a power pole in the middle of the side walk. I feel your pain there and then some. Happenes to me all the time in my power wheelchair and there is no getting up and lifting the powerchair around the pole. Cities need to learn this is a bad design no matter where they do it.

    I take an air pump and air pressure gauge with me on my Fat, so in terrain I can lower the tire pressure and on the air inflate back to 1.5 bar/ 21 psi.

    You can install a Schlumpf Mountain Drive with a Rohloff, BUT....that jeopardizes your Rohloff warrenty. I lowered my gear range by installing the smallest sprocket up front. Today I took my Fat Trike to a pedestrian square and in 3rd gear I could keep up with the peds.

    • @darkskys163
      @darkskys163 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really?!..I was given the option when I ordered my ICE Full Fat.

    • @mardiffv.8775
      @mardiffv.8775 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@darkskys163 Allright, well, I give you the advise to contact Rohloff, if you want to install the Schlumpf. Just to be on the safe side. The Schlumpf will work fine. I had a Schlumpf installed in my velomobile, to get going after an emergy stop and going uphill (up a bridge).

    • @mardiffv.8775
      @mardiffv.8775 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@darkskys163 If you want to change the front sprocket for a smaller front sprocket. Check out your Rohloff manual, because if the gears become too small, the forces applied on the Rohloff huff may get too high. Damaging the hub, so no more warrenty. In the manual there is a chart telling what front and back sprocket combinations are possible and which are not.
