How to Make a Caramel Macchiato Using a Moka Pot
มุมมอง 59K7 ปีที่แล้ว
A Moka Pot is a stove top coffee maker that produces coffee similar to espresso, but a little bit sweeter and a lot less acidic. Moka pots have three parts, a lower chamber, which is filled with water, a middle basket, which contains the coffee grounds, and an upper chamber, where the coffee is poured from. The moka pot uses high pressure and temperature to push the water from the bottom chambe...

    You want to brew it much slower at a lower temp with the lid open so you can make sure you have an even flow. Preheating the water is good too if you have the time.

    Your safety valve seems to be blown. That would explain the leakage at the end.

    I thought macchiatos were just a dash of steamed milk “to mark the espresso”, lol coffee names are so weird n are different for everyone

      I think this is her take on a Starbuck’s macchiato, which suits some people just fine. It’s a lot more like a layered latte instead of a traditional macchiato, which is what you described. 😄

    I’m so confused by so many elements of this video. the only ingredients listed are ground coffee and water, there is not a single mention of the macchiato part of it, you’re pouring the coffee into what, exactly? and then only at the very end you mention caramel drizzle? the video is just displaying a poor moka pot tutorial with little to no mention of the actual macchiato part

    You need to heat your water first so it doesn't turn bitter

  • @roamlikekane

    why doesn't anybody give weight measurements like ever??

    • @JamieBainbridge
      @JamieBainbridge 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The weight of the coffee grounds is not constant. If you like strong coffee, use more grounds. If you like milder coffee, use less grounds. You can see the water to the bottom of the valve so a measurement is not needed, just look. One espresso shot is 30mL (1oz is fine too) and you can use a small shot glass for that.

      Again, elusive yet, patronizing in tone. There is no line in mine! After some Googling, I found the numeric 2 or TWO Rule: Coffee Grinds will always be 2 digits numerically less than the water weight (not in weight but visually). My Mokaa is 8 ounces water therefore, you grind .06 ounces of coffee bean. My french press is at 11.8 ozs water, then you grind .09 ounces of beans. God, all you dense fuckers, so-called coffee Boobtubers out there. Full of yourselves, just worthless.

    • @JamieBainbridge
      @JamieBainbridge 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't intend to be patronising, I was trying to be helpful :) I have not heard of this rule but if that works for you then cool! Hope your Moka is going well and making coffee how you like it.

    If you want the best possible experience please for the love of all things caffeinated, support your local coffee roasters and buy freshly roasted WHOLE BEAN coffee and grind it yourself. Hand grinders aren't expensive and you'll vastly improve your coffee experience. If you don't want to shell out the cash on a grinder, please still buy from a local roaster, they will grind it for you if you ask them to. Pre-ground coffee from supermarket shelves is most likely WELL past it's ability to give it's best possible flavour. Also, digital weighing scales. Weigh your coffee. It'll make a hell of a difference. They're cheap and you probably already have one. As long as it measures per gram and has a Tare option it's perfect.

      Not Just Tube better yet roast your own.

    • @ramblr8161
      @ramblr8161 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ideally, one really should roast their own, but some people don't really have the time or patience to learn. Plus, many home roasting methods, like the popcorn popper method, are far too inconsistent to produce a usable result without things like voltage modding. Unless you have the cash to splash on a genuinely good home roaster (Like the Gene Cafe one), as well as the time and patience to learn how to use it, learn different flavour profiles etc etc, you're much better off buying directly from a local roaster. It's cheaper, much less time consuming and you'll get a much better result.

      Not Just Tube I have The Behmor Plus coffee bean roaster and West Ben popcorn popper. I actually get great results from both the Behmor and the popcorn popper. I have been roasting beans for Three years and enjoy the outcome.

      Bad video - You can not align the top line with the bottom. You have to close it tightly and whatever relative positions they assume,. That's how it has to be. The internal elements are oblivious to the way they line up.
