One of the biggest things with meditation people are doing it wrong, you really have make it clear, is you have to do it through your "imagination". Laying there looking at the darkness will do nothing even if totally relaxed it won't work. I still remember my first lucid dream vividly. I was probably 7 years old (I'm 44 now). I woke up in the middle of the night and took my blanket into the living room to lay in front of the heating vent. Laying there in the warmth, I fell asleep again. In my dream I realized that I remembered getting up and moving to another room. So I was like, I'M DREAMING!!
