Have seen it twice in 2003..same cast...burnt in my soul...overwelming...and have seen JOJ as Phantom even 2011 again! (not known he was!) ..and...ever the best: small audience in Geneva ...unplugged....not any word can discribe this experience!!!

Cool, this was the first time i saw Ramin as Raoul and i'm very interested in seeing more of this...because there's no doubt that the Phantom in POTO was his best performance up to now, but in my opinion you can tell a great actor only when he proves good at playing both "The white swan" and "The black swan", to say it with one of my all-times fav movies.So his black swan won me already, let's go back to the white one now XD

I live in America, so I never saw him as Raoul and therefore can't make assumptions on if he was a better Raoul or Phantom, but I have the 25th anniversary on DVD and his Phantom is AMAZING! And I did know he played Christine's dead father in the movie, kind of interesting. Anyway I've never seen him perform live, but I agree his Phantom portrayal in the 25th anniversary should have gotten an award.

I liked Ramin better as the Phantom his performance was so menacingly scary he deserved an Olivier Award for his performance in the 25th Anniversary Concert. But what really got me pegged was that he played young Christine Daae's dying father in the 2004 movie musical version! Believe me, his name is in the end credits when it reaches the cast of characters. I was shocked!

So, Ramin Karimloo is playing Raoul and they don't even show a clip from All I Ask of You?!

They should release this on DVD! The 25th anniversary concert is great, but I don't think it does much justice to the original production.

According to Wikipedia: in 2003, Karimloo took one of the lead roles, Raoul (Vicomte de Chagny), in The Phantom of the Opera. His final matinee performance was filmed for use on a behind-the-scenes feature on the DVD of Joel Schumacher's The Phantom of the Opera, a film in which he also appeared, in a cameo role as Gustave Daaé, Christine's violinist father whom Christine believes has sent her an Angel of Music from the heavens after his death.

That was probably the most beautiful graveyard trio I have heard! Ramin is wonderful as Raoul in that scene!

I if I had been in Katie's position, I would have had a hard time choosing between the phantom or raoul. After all, it's my two favorite actors. Normally I would say the phantom no matter what, but since Ramin was playing Raoul, I might would have made an exception for him. Though, I don't know why they would have a 13/14 year old playing the role of Christine (that's how old I was back then).

@pinkf3 Actually, he played Raoul back in 2003-2004. This was part of the bonus features for the 2004 movie. He was playing the Phantom in 2007-2009 and then he went to Love Never Dies.
