Hello Derrick I'm trying to hook thus same unit that you are showing in your video. So first of all im using a Carver preamplifier, Carver amplifier, and a bsr equalizer and trying to get this unit hookup to my setup. So I've tried it on a integrated amplifier along with a equalizer and it works fine ,but it seems a little tricky to me when I'm trying to use it with a power amplifier can you help thank you .

Pure junk the only useful thing about it, is the AC outlets in the back of the unit, just a light show. It can't show true RMS and no slow decay or hold, The levels bounces like a cheap whore in heat. Set a reference at zero Db .775 VOLTS to show 100%, and with music, the LED's flashes up the whole board to the end. WHAT PIECE JUNK !. No accuracy at all. If you need it for studio or broadcasting, then you'll need to spend over $250 for a good used unit, like a WOHLER or Sescom, ESE, Sonifex, i-nstruments and Dorrough don't patronize crap made in China.

I purchased one of these simply to evaluate it. This is not something which is designed for your expensive equipment. On Amazon this was advertised as having an RFI/EMI filter, and it goes on to describe how this is a must have for your expensive equipment. This is true, but when I disassembled this for inspection, there was no such filtering. The USB charge port does talk to your phone and sets it to fast charge, however, when it did this, the internal charger created much more RF noise than the Samsung charger which came with my phone. This was evident when I watched my HF ham radio while on the 160-meter band. The power cord was soldered directly to the board and to the fuse holder. All of these power cord connections were grey, indication cold solder joints. The ground wire throughout this switch-box is very thin. The power cord is undersized. The box and paperwork which came with the unit didn't say anything about filtering, that was only in the advertisement. So buyer beware.

You know the brake settings? Set the brake between 90 and max 120 degrees if you press on stop. That is said in the servicemanual. Grz E

Ok, I just purchased the SL1200 MKII from my local record shop, SUPER clean, near mint! He knows the original owner and the deck has only been used to beat match EDM. The record shop owner also is a service technician so if i should need any repairs or re-calibration he can do it! Now for the best part, I paid, wait for it, $325!! no kidding! Gimbal is solid, no play in the bearings, pitch slider is clean, VTA and anti skate all perfect, no movement in the switch housings, tone arm is perfectly balanced, strobes, pop up all working fine, no issues with the motor, dots stay as they should at zero and there is no wobble or flutter when bringing pitch up or down, stays locked in as it should. This particular 1200 was born April 1998.

Thanks for the video, I'm going to be purchasing a Sl1200 MKII from my local record shop owner and this helped me out to know how to clean it and get it looking pretty again. Also @16:37 I'm certain that main board had been removed and or serviced at some point, it's missing the white zip ties that hold the wires in place. I'll be checking out more of your videos.

The spin back after brake might be done on purpose. We often adjusted it spin back for that reverse effect during mixes.

You can adjust the brake without removing the platter, these two holes on it are made just for this purpose.

Is there a reason you don't take the entire thing apart to really clean everything under the main PCB and power supply etc? too much work or is there something that could go wrong?

You haven’t seen dirty. I bought a pair of a guy the other side of the country. He said he would deliver them for 70£. Drive 3 hours. I was like ok. Long story short. Both pitch controls shot. Oil and dirt and gunk on both. Smashed feet. Dust covers cracked. Platters covered in glue or something. Fault on one deck. Just awful. Took a week stripping down and new genuine parts fitted. They look like new now. Can’t believe the price these go for and are treated like shit
