In this one I’m spending the night in a hammock for the first time , finally doing a woodland adventure and sleeping in the nightcat hammock, also show you how I made my own custom bushcraft knife handle using epoxy resin and it even glows in the dark . done a total of 2 nights in a hammock, first try was amazing slept like a baby, second try same hammock set up woke up with a hyper extended knee never been back in it
Rob, absolutely love your content and the sound quality seems to of improved, maybe it’s just cos you’re not high up in the dales when it’s blowing a hoolie lol.

Fun to watch. Never seen a custom tent rain window before. Spacious 1p tent indeed, can't imagine not being able to stretch your back and neck like in an Akto. While I like to try out new beers, I'll only bring favourites on a hike. It's such misery to find out that over a kilo of beer turns out to be meh<->awful after hauling it for a day.
@@tubulzr cheers bud ,I used to love tents with plastic windows when I was a kid but you never see them on 1p tents . Yeah the akto was great for been strong and lightweight but wasn’t the most comfortable for long periods,huge vestibule in it tho Yeah I went through a stage of buying right expensive craft ales but only ever had one or 2 that I liked lol Thanks for watching mate

Sound I’m planning on doing a lot in Scotland and lakes this winter so plenty of snowy camps. My best mate @englishwoodsman is the guy that got me back into a childhood camping addiction. You should come on a camp with us
@@HikingTheViking nice 👌 yeah you will definitely need a reliable tent for that but I’m sure there’s cheaper ones out there , your mate will definitely be able to advise you on that if not lend you one . That’s cool his TH-cam channel has absolutely rocketed he’s doing really well 👍🏻

Hey Rob, it's great to see you out with the mirage pro again, you inspired me to get one. Like you I love mine, it's a fricking beast! I've had a few along the way, a Helm 2,a northern lite 2 but I prefer the Vango. That it only cost me £80 is insane. My biggest gripe is that Vango don't make a footprint, so I made my own out of Tyvek. The venting isn't great either but that's what lager was invented for! Great video BTW, keep it up 👍👍👍👏👏
@@steviesteve750 yeah I think it’s one of the best budget tents you can get ,if you can get it I don’t think you can now seems to be out of stock everywhere. £80 that’s nuts ! Yeah I used to always use a tarp but I don’t bother anymore….top tip if you don’t use a ground sheet it makes having a wee in the middle of the night a lot easier 😉 definitely done that before, On this very camp infact lol Thanks mate glad you enjoyed it 👊

talk about a brand stobb rob i have just bought two patagonia high loft goose dwn jacket hoodies and every time i look at them im thinking all just to use on a cold night sitting in your tent but yes mate they our a godsend when its cold mate and yes luv your rab but im like you i wanted something that you don,t see much and are well the same coats near anough but i luv them great video mate ones again

I love Patagonia stuff but I don’t have anything yet cos it’s so expensive and my rab alpine jacket is still going strong , I’m dressed better on my own in the middle of nowhere than I am on a night out in town . All my decent stuff is hiking and camping stuff lol well I guess if we get a kick out of owning branded stuff we worked hard for it so why not . Thanks mate

Thanks mate , haha I think it’s the first video in ages where I haven’t mentioned what pad it is , it’s the big Agnes rapid sl wide insulated pad . Iv used it on every camp for the past 6/7 camps and it’s great it really is brilliant. There is a video about it on my channel somewhere , it’s not very good but gives you a close look at it

Interesting video. I personally like to pitch up my 3x3 DD tarp over my tent using a couple of 1.7m carbon fibre telescopic fishing landing net rods I got from AliExpress and some guy lines. I get loads of extra protection from the rain out from the front of my tent.
Yeah that’s a great idea ,guess i could do that with walking poles
@@ROBOLOGY.wildcamping I use my trekking poles for my Lanshan 1 tent and carry a 1.7m carbon fibre telescopic pole so I can have my tarp a lot higher if I need to. Normally I pitch in front of a tree so tie my tarp to the tree at one end and use my carbon fibre pole at the other, but you can also add a trekking pole to one end too or carry two 1.7m carbon fibre telescopic poles. You get the gist.

Yeah that martin I went with is very good at photography so he helped with that , can you believe hilleberg used his photos in there magazine and he’s been on the cover of a load of outdoor magazines
The wind sock on your lav mic did a great job of knocking down most of the wind noise. I also find most of us TH-camrs spend most of our time walking around talking to ourselves. If we didn't have a camera in front of our faces, people would for sure think we're a bit off. For me, the worst part would come during editing, after a while, I got sick of seeing my own face and would try to only be in the frame at the beginning and end of the videos. As a brewer, I definitely liked the idea of the beers to go along with your cigar, but I wouldn't be doing a cigar inside the tent. That would be a recipe for disaster. I'm thinking strip magnets for your plastic window. It might be tough getting them all the way to the bottom, but I'm sure you could get them about 2/3 of the way down.
@@ChuckNute-i4b yeah it’s a great little mic for £30 ,hahaha yeah it’s though especially when most vids take around 5/6 hours for me to edit that’s why sometimes the quality drops towards the end lol plus I’m always torn between loving filming and thinking it’s really vain. Good effort mate, and I'm liking the tidy porch. Horrid music but that's a personal taste issue (mine probably, same as I'm unsure about the Hamas look from 26:00 on). Your tent reminds me of my Terra Nova Voyager, one of the Grand Designs - still have it but can't justify the carried weight. Accurate summary of the standard wildcamp video - I call it the 'Messner Format' although I doubt he invented it. However, there are other possibilities although most of them involve some walking unfortunately - I mean, more than a mile or two from the car and perhaps without that crate of beer on your back. Alternatively, some just wait for a storm warning and do the usual video but hopefully the weather means you/your equipment fails and you bail out and get hundreds of supportive comments. Nothing wrong with your personality son - keep at it!

@@ROBOLOGY.wildcamping I don’t watch much TV. Prefer to watch crazy ideas on YT. I’ve had a few sunroofs that have leaked so waterproof is not essential 😂. Keep making the videos and remember a lot of people don’t just tune in for the walking up and boiling water. They like to listen to your ramblings 👍🏻
