A lot of trucks that pull oversize have a lot of adjustment on the plate. Because of a tag axle, longer wheelbase, and the kingpin on some flatbeds like ours are far forward. Also step decks have their landing gear about a foot farther forward.

I don't see why it would be illegal, just a strap would be fine just a chain would be fine. What's wrong with both?

@@chasedooley6237 Head for the oil patch. Up here in Canuckistan you can get 40-50 bucks/hr for flat decking. If you can run a winch, should get 60, and if you can run bed trucks, about 85, and you're driving someone else's truck!

@@carknowera twist has no effect on the strength of the strap, a knot however will reduce the strength by 1/2.

@carknower @taylorpennington8126 Here are both of your requested replies. If you added a board in the middle, it would need some kind of foam with the board. Why well because it needs to be able to flex. Also, the main reason these concrete places don't let you put anything in the middle is because of the trailer bow because these concrete walls aren't heavy enough a lot to take that bow away. Now, why this isn't a DOT violation is because just like a lot of things in the flatbed side of trucking, there are companies that get exemptions for this kind of freight along with paperwork with the BOL for your travels down the highway. I'll respond. No problem, don't be keyboard warriors.

@@tips4truckers252 isn’t that try as you have it as well? If the trailer flexes such that the rear is higher that would put a bending moment on the concrete slab.

The trailer is bent / has an arc to it. I don’t think you could put something there without over stressing the concrete
