A side-by-side comparison of the similarities and differences between the xylophone and marimba, as demonstrated with a short lecture and two solo works. Included is a xylophone transcription of Allegro (Mvt. 2) from "Sonata in F for Violin, Op. 1, No. 12" by George Frideric Handel and "Song Without Words, Op. 30, No. 3" by Felix Mendelssohn for four-mallet marimba, arranged by Colin Constance.
