Yeah I admit to being surprised. But it's not the end of the world because of it. I was just throwing that information out there so maybe others won't make the same mistake. There are Corys that don't cross breed with each other. Thank you.

I wouldn't mind it myself if I was breeding them on purpose. Plus they are cross breeding so I can't sell them. Lesson learned.

@@guyfawkescorys I would think you could sell them to someone. they're not a "serious" fish and everyone loves 'em.

@@LushSaltyAquariums Yeah you're right or give them away. I just recall a very heated discussion on somebodies channel about hybrid or crossbred fish getting into the fishkeeping hobby and basically destroying everything so I've been hesitant about giving them away. But you are right and maybe I will offer them on Facebook market place for free in the future. i mostly made that video as a precaution to others.

@@guyfawkescorys the debates are usually for other species, esp Rainbowfish and Cichlids. I’m curious what the offspring you get look like.

@@LushSaltyAquariums My female Albino Corys are breeding with my Bronze Corys and the offspring look like Bronze Corys.

Thanks for watching my video. Before i put wood into my tanks I first make certain they are not toxic in any way. It you Google wood that might harm your tank or fish there is a few types of wood to avoid. Then I soak them in water ( I fill the bucket or container with hot water) and add hydrogen peroxide and salt to kill off any bacteria or harmful things in the wood. I change the water once a week for a few weeks to get any dark tannins out of the wood and to make sure that it sinks when it goes into my aquarium. in case for some reason it still doesn't sink I super glue a rock on the bottom. you can glue plants to the wood or use sewing thread or fishing string to attach the plant. i hope that answers your question. I have shrimp in most of my tanks and the Hydra that is in that pond water can kill shrimp and shrimp babies. I put all 10 jars into a 10 gallon tank with a screen top and added an air stone. If it wasn't for all of the thousands of Hydra in that pond water I would have no issues with adding that water to my tanks. But it's full of Hydra and my tanks have shrimp that breed.

Yes but before I put the mosquito dunks in there. They gobble them up like brine shrimp. Always nice to hear from you and I hop your day goes well.

Thanks. I'm just not willing to increase the lights for a few plants after having a black beard algae and hair algae bloom due to having the lights turned all the way up for 24 hours a day. The rest of the tank is doing great.

Thank you. I use a food called First bites for my smallest fish and for guppie fry I'd also use baby brine shrimp. They are over 35% protein and have fat in them that's good for baby fish. Beyond that I use very fine powdered fish flakes. i crush it up between my fingers but you can use a coffee grinder to powder fish foods with. I use fish flakes made from salmon and sea food and no fillers. My white cloud mountain minnows and endlers and hatchet fish love that stuff. Powdered daphnia is great too.

Have the same issue in one of my tanks with the same plant as you. Pulled them up and moved them to another tank as i hate throwing out plants. So far they are doing better. Great looking tank🤙👍👍

I'm not certain about the substrate yet. I watch all of Father fish videos. We subscribe to each other channels but I'm not a paying member so I can't always interact with all of his programing. But yes I will check it out thank you. I know that I will be using some river rock and pea gravel in the pond as well as some sand. And will be researching plants that might survive the winters here in NY. Right now I have a lot of projects going on at the same time like redoing both decks and painting the lower half of the house and painting the shed. It's going to be a couple of weeks before I get paid again and have the funds to finish the pond and get fish in it. The plan is to have it run by solar powered products . I managed to reinjure my lower back yesterday and am glad it's raining today so i can rest lol.

It was up in the attic. Our artist friend must have used it at some point when he was still alive. It's a nice big bowl shaped piece that will look nice in the pond.

I love bringing pollinators into the yard and watching them. I've always planted tons of flowers wherever we lived and have had very large veggie gardens. Now that we own this property it was time to add my touch to it. It's not cheap to do along with painting the house and redoing both decks but by doing it myself I'm saving tons of money. Yeah we will be saving at least that much. I already painted all but one room upstairs and this winter i'll paint the rooms downstairs. I plan to insulate and dry wall the shed to turn it into a hot tub room. And I'd like to put sky lights in the shed too. And yes the title of the video was on purpose lol. Gotta get those clicks or you get lost in the matrix.

Thank you Father Fish. I'm trying to keep up with my youtube channel and completely redo the property we inherited. I looked into how much it would cost to hire people to pressure wash and paint the house as well redo both decks and do some landscaping. So I'm doing it myself with my wifes help and we are saving 10s of thousands of dollars. It's just wearing me out a bit and I'm in more pain than usual but it will be worth the effort. @@FatherFish Well so far I've planted Cornflower Tall Blue, Godetia/Farewell to Spring, Cosmos, Chinese Forget Me Not, Scarlet Flax, Four O'Clock, Catchfly, Sulphur Cosmos, Indian Blanket, Baby Blue Eyes, Rose Mallow, Rocket Larkspur, Wild Annual Sunflower, Plains Coreopsis, Clarkia, Toadflax/Spurred Snapdragon, babys breath, white snapdragon, shade loving wildflower mix, cosmos, zinnias, Tithonia Orange Mexican Sunflower Flowers, herbs, spices , sunflowers, many types of tomatoes, hot peppers, sweet peppers and a few more veggies. I'm saving tons of money by pressure washing the house and painting it as well as redoing both decks by pressure washing, sanding by hand, restaining them and sealing them. I've added bluestone slate steps and am giving our 1898 built home a total facelift . It wears me out but the end results will be good. Thank you and I promise I'll be making more videos soon. Thanks. We are doing well and saving a fortune by me pressure washing the house and decks and painting and resealing the decks myself as well as doing all the landscaping. It cost us 500 dollars just to have a few people haul off some brush and stuff I cut up. They want about 10,000 to paint the house lol so I'm doing it myself for $350 worth of paint. And I'm redoing both decks. I cleared so much sticker bushes and brush from the yard and planted about 100,000 flower seeds and some tomatoes and peppers and egg plants so far. At least I only have to paint the bottom half of the house that is brick. It was painted white decades ago and i picked out a color called Tricorn black that should look amazing on this 1898 home. Plus the only way I'm going to get things done right around here is to do it myself. It cost us almost $500 just to have a few guys spend an hour at most to haul off brush and stuff I cut up with a chainsaw. So yeah I'm better off doing it myself. And the last thing I'm doing is to turn our big shed into a hot tub room that i've wanted for years.

Yes my 20 gallon tall tank has had problems from the start and I need to reset it completely soon. It never grew plants well and it's always dusty from sand getting kicked up by the fish. It's left over sand from my 75 gallon setup and is very fine sand. I can correct it soon.

@@guyfawkescorys That tank, that Ron calls the death tank just claimed another vic, an orange Glow cory cat overnight. He looked so healthy, but I've heard the Glow fish aren't. Anyways, the Betta, Vishnu, is alright but I've discovered something today that might make my life easier: Seachem Neutral Regulator. No more messing around with Ph Up and Down. 😵I'm already a huge fan of their Purigen. This tank always had high ammonia no matter what I did. I had no idea what could possibly be wrong until I found a person with the same problem, and a commenter had said it could only be the fake plastic rocks decorations. After I removed that, begrudgingly, the ammonia finally went down. I mean I'd been struggling for four months with this problem through water changes, filter specialties, (it already has a filter for a tank twice the size), Ammonia Down, Stableizer... You name it. I've not had this problem with either of my other tanks. The problem is that a lot of things, it seems, sold in pet stores for fish tanks are not any good at all. It can be frustrating. Take care.

@@danalee3619 I use Purigen along with polyfil floss in my hang on back filters for clear water in my tanks and swap out the polyfil every week when it gets dirty. The sponge filters house my good bacteria and I squeeze them out about every 2 months. Also i do add fresh live bacteria from a company called Microbe Lift . they have a good line of very specific bacteria for different purposes. It works for me. The only youtuber I recall calling an aquarium a death trap did about 5 videos about the 8 and a half gallon all in one tank from Hygger but he's full of crap. i watched the first video when he opened the box from Hygger after getting it for free. there was a thin piece of plastic with slits in it that was provided to use on the filter intake to prevent small fish from getting sucked into the filter. He tossed that away and didn't follow instructions. He set up the tank without that piece that was included and added small fish to the tank that got sucked into the filter and blamed Hygger for it. he blasted that company in follow up videos as well. And then he made his own filter guard with a piece of plastic and said he fixed the problem. He was the problem not the fixer. He threw away the plastic guard in his first video not reading the instructions and thinking he knows everything and blamed it on Hygger and that was just wrong of him. I went back and rewatched those videos to make certain it was his fault and not a design flaw from Hygger that caused the fish death. I subscribe to his channel but lost any respect I had for him at that point. And those videos he made got tons of views . He never admitted to his original mistake and just acted like he fixed a problem that actually never existed in the first place. I had all of my plants in the 20 gallon die and have plastic plants in it right now but i added the live plants too soon in that sand substrate tank so it was my fault. I will be switching it over to live plants soon .
