A.D. HD (no pun intended...) B-side of Cough Cough Limited Edition 7" Vinyl
Such a good instrumental cut.
Sounds like two door cinema club or foals?
Lyrics provided by Genius.com and E.E. [Verse 1] Born in a mission town, bred with the fist of our father You take the pole-axe out of your spine, push your shoulder blade back in its place But I need a pseudonym, calm as a lunatic ulcer I'll be black rum and hear the bows hum with the breath of my elephant oar And you pushing pencils an army torrential and soaking Oh little hark, be the clock of my heart, the sum of all elements here [Chorus] You slave! (Underneath a banner of wanting) Slave (Underneath the banner of wanting) It always takes me there (Back into the days I was hoping) You slave! (It’s real life happening!) [Verse 2] So I get my papers in line and I get a fake passport With all my decisions made, I've swum the fission lake many a time And you slumped across the grey lawn with your bottle of maybes I pull my own flesh out of my skull, I’m leaving this ever behind [Chorus] You slave! (Underneath a banner of wanting!) Slave (Underneath the banner of wanting!) It always takes me there (Back into the days I was hoping) Slave! It’s real life happening! [Bridge] It’s real life happening, oh It’s real life happening I said I’m coming down I’m coming out [Chorus] Slave, underneath the banner of wanting Slave, underneath the banner of wanting It always takes me there Back into the days I was hoping You slave! (It’s real life happening!) [Outro] Oh and you’ll never get older, you’ll never get older Oh, you’ll never get older, you’ll never get older
😲 😱 😲 😱 😲 😱
I don’t personally understand why people think this b-side is better than most of Arc, I find it interesting, but I don’t think it’s all too great and understand why it was cut from the album. It’s more of an experiment than a song. There are other b-sides that deserved the album treatment more than this one.
Ok this is just Radiohead at this point
I just ❤️ that cover photo
Born in a mission town, bred with the fist of our father You take the pole axe out of your spine, push your shoulder blade back in its place But I need a pseudonym, calm as a lunatic, all set I'm in the back room, and in the foul zone, with the breath of my elephant, oh And you pushing pencils, an army to rent you, that's okay A little heartbeat, the pluck of my heart, the sum of all elements say [Chorus] Slave, underneath the banner of wanting Slave, underneath the banner of wanting It always takes me there Back into the days I was hoping Slave, it’s real life happening [Verse 2] So I get my papers in line and I get a fake passport With all my decisions made, I've swum the fishing lake many a time And you slumped across the grey lawn with your bottle of Maker’s I pull my hot flesh out of my skull, I’m leaving this, never again [Chorus] Slave, underneath the banner of wanting Slave, underneath the banner of wanting It always takes me there Back into the days I was hoping Slave, it’s real life happening
Kinda sounds like "Put me together."
EE x Tim Hecker
not sure what i was thinking here
aphex twin vibes here
NO DISLIKES ❤️❤️❤️
this will forever be extremely underrated
Sounds a bit like 15 step
Yes you’re totally right!
and Kid A
Best Arc b-side
Loving the Antidotes feel to this
I get that Man Alive B-Sides didn't get in because they wouldn't flow well and that all the songs were great, but Arc had some very weak songs like Choice Mountain or House is Dust. They could have easily fit in this great song.
Choice Mountain is a masterpiece.
Sean Jorrey they were great. The only really poor song on arc was probably "Don't try"
i even liked don't try! the only song i wasn't fond of was Arc, and only because it was missing its pseudo first half
That whole album is amazing not a song I don't like. Not surprised this and others weren't released as the main album but perhaps could've been part of the deluxe...or they could just bloody release these EP's . EE being snakes
@@ShadowElectricity What the hell are you talking about. Don't Try is excellent.
Groovy!
Man I fucking love this
does anybody know bands with similar guitar vibes? like, reallt clean math rock-ish guitars? i mean, a listen to a lot of math rock with clean guitars but nothing like that
i know what you mean mate, there arent bands exactly like EE, but you can check those who have alot of simillarities: Two Door Cinema Club - first album Foals - First album Bombay bycicle club Dutch Uncles
Foals and Two Door are GREAT. Will check the other two. Thank you, m8
There aren't any really. atleast not their early stuff, no one is really doing the avant-garde pop + math thing. A lot of it is down to Jonathans voice too
Polyphia and Foals. Maybe Nirvana and Steve Vai too. I’m thinking part-pop, sub-pop, and rock here, but if you don’t like that stuff, there’s Bombay Bicycle Club and Dutch Uncles.
@@J4KETS he said GUITAR vibes, not Everything Everything’s vibes in general. Just similar guitar vibes.
What a jam!
Oh my god, this is amazing
What;s with all the amazing B-sides that didn't make Arc? It's better than half the album!
Why why why why didn't this make Arc?
Insane song.
Honestly I think it has to with tone. This song is too fucking electric I honestly don't think it really fits with the rest of Arc. Arc is this kinda depressive meditation on isolation and what being alone can kinda do to a person and their mind in general. I mean yeah it has high energy moments such as the first three songs on the album, armourland, and even don't try . But those never quite capture the same feeling as this song imo. Idk just my thoughts whatever.
@@Sipter195 with all due respect did we listen to the same album? there are so many electric songs. cough cough, feet for hands, duet one could argue, radiant, kemosabe. so many of them are high energy. in fact in comparison A.D sounds more depressive and isolating than 70% of the album. the cold and out of tune guitars, the lyrics, the chords, the ending, the incredible chorus. this would have been perfect for Arc and would have fit the themes. i could see it sitting snugly between choice mountain and feet for hands.
nice song but very quiet
you are a hero for uploading these b-sides. thank you
I can't find lyrics anywhere!!!
+Erin Slater Bless you, son.
@@archer7118 COUGH COUGH lmfao That was a bad joke
They are available in their book Caps Lock On
My mental health relies on the publication of these lyrics. Seriouslyyyy. Such a fantastic song!
Good news! They did with the release of their book, Caps Lock On
This is probably one of their best songs :D
thank you for uploading!
thank you for uploading!
thank you for uploading these b-sides. it's ridiculous that there weren't released either digitally or on a CD
Amazing
The song sounds exactly like something that would be on a radiohead CD, and I love it.
...wow.
Yeah, it's supposed to have Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime (BBC Live Version), but my copy hasn't arrived yet...
Did Don't Try have a B-side as well?
everybody's got to learn sometime.
Amazing...
cheers for uploading
I've been trying to find this for ages thanks!
