Your 700 is a awesome machine & got some cool tracks. If I had to replace my XR650r the GASGAS ES700 would be the only bike. I only ever change gears on my XR by doing quick shift "no clutch" & never had any issues & more of instance gear change feels better & I'm yet to inspect the clutch & clutch plates. I find the technology your bike has is amazing but could there be a software upgrade to the quick shifter so it would work directly with a gear change input. Have fun on your weapon keep on posting future videos on your 700. Cheers mate
@@kenbotham8222 Hi , I’m not sure about any software updates or anything like that, but It’s a fun bike with plenty of power.
Your finding a few dislikes in the 700 raff, your right About the weight, a few extras and all the fluids they go over the 160kg easy. They are some good tracks up there, keep it up.
@@PaulMckernan-l2n Yes, I expected the 700 to be a little chunky but it is way lighter than my T7 Yamaha which was to heavy to pick up, especially if you were hurt, I think for the putting around riding I do for the channel, the Rally 300 is the best, when I’m racing or having “fun” not youtube friendly, I go Husky 300.
What hearing have you got on the gas gas
@@nealewoodroffe5928 Hi there, I’ve gone one tooth smaller on the front sprocket, still happy to sit on 110kph but it has a usable first /second gear without much clutch.
@@raffs_adv do you know the tooth size?
@ From memory it’s 15 down from 16 tooth
Your sunnies must be polarised, you can’t see led screens with them, you’ll have to get normal lenses
@@EddyOtway stupid sunnies , they all cost to much.
Not sure if the GasGas has the TKC’s like my 701 had. I found there was either grip or no grip. Switched over to Goldentyre GT723 Fatty on the frond and the difference is night and day. For a while I thought I made a mistake getting rid of the 890 for the 701. Love it now.
@@deanjones3019 Hi, yes TKC front, I’ve got a Michelin rally race rear on it now, I have a match for the rear tyre ready to go on soon. 👍
GPS please
@@steve2me414 I don’t have a gpx file of the route because I just follow my nose , it’s all around Dunolly Victoria Australia when looking at Google maps.
Love the rear footage!
How many miles of this bush is there to ride? I love the look of it & it seems to go on -n- on..... for many miles? peace
@@diggy-d8w Hi, there’s a huge area of forests here, and most of the East side of Oz has heaps.
I love the look of it & I know about all the poison critters you deal with..... lol, maybe not the names of all of them but I know several of the snakes/spiders are bad news if you get bitten. I'm in Texas & while we've got bad stuff here as well I guess when you have lived with them long enough you don't give it much thought... Where is "OZ" I'm looking at "Google Maps" but didn't find where "oz" was... or the abbreviation that OZ stands for but I'm kinda obtuse being schooled in America & all = yep, that's my defense. lovely place. peace
@ Oz is Australia 🇦🇺
Boy am I lost here..... lol, From the land downunder to the land of Oz . It works for me & thanks for the lesson. I've always thought of Australia as a home like place to the State of Texas. It's the people of the land that I've come to love. A nitty gritty down to earth people.... Anyhoo, your dog is well behaved. Went right to his pen. peace & GB ALL
great ride guys, man down @ 17;12
Nice move at (5.20) I'm guessing that's not stock suspension. How are you finding the ES 700? I think I'd love a 700 single, but I'm not sure how the comfort level would be on longer trips..
@@TwoWheelerSparky Thanks , no the suspension is not standard, it’s YSS front and rear , great stuff … The Gassa 700 is nice enough for most duties, but if power isn’t your thing or needed, the Rally is the best with suspension upgrades and 550 performance ecu with full exhaust system upgraded $$ but well worth it, in my opinion.
👍👍
I'm still saving me money to get a bike & I have to say that your Rally has the look of a bigger bike? Perhaps dome of this has to do with the upgrades/mods you've added, IDKnow for sure but I do like the profile & overall look about her. If I can manage that amount of money, I will go w/ the 300 Rally version. I like the lighting, fuel tank size, and the small windscreen over the 300L by itself. If you took the 300L & added the windscreen & bigger fuel tank I think it would look worse, take your labor, and cost more than if you got the Rally version to start with...... but what do I know? Not much but I'm watching this for a reason ! peace
@@diggy-d8w I can’t fault my Rally 👍
@@raffs_adv me neither, I digg it
When you came past me on the back wheel at 95kph on Saturday was that to save the front tyre wear :)
Yes, I like to be frugal.
More info on the Tirre and PSI you're using.
@@steve2me414 Hi , the tyre has a very stiff carcass, it’s already totally tested in Dakar , I have a 4mm ubertuff tube and Rim lock, balanced … I’m running 18psi offroad and I can barely pick the difference between 12psi and 28psi because it’s so rock hard, grip is about the same as a Dunlop 603 but much much stronger, I only got it because of a cheap deal from a dealer when a Fink desert race guy cancelled it.. I don’t think it’s going to last long on the 700, but we shall see.
Good chat! I’ve been messing with my bars too after a three day off road trip - mostly dirt double track - but ended with 2-3 hours of fast gravel (100kph+ for hours) and at that point I really wished my bars were higher. I am 6 feet and have a pretty long reach too. First step will be to flip my stem to the forward position and then roll forward the bars until I am set. Risers will be my last resort because I don’t want to lose my high speed highway position like you said (I also run the stock 16 tooth front ring and can pull 170-180kph on the fly, lol).
@@streetsandpeaks3013 It’s just one of those things that curtían people online say , “you’ll need risers “ how would they know what another person that they’ve never met would need, I think they should say risers are always an option for different built people. I’m loving the 15 tooth front for my needs.
Fantastic
@@HUSKYFE501 thanks mate.
Nice bit of video :-) Which mic are you using and where's the overlay come from?
@@krazed0451 Hi it’s all done with Insta360 gps overlay and a purple panda mic.
@@raffs_adv Thanks, haven't seen that one before, certainly adds to the video.
@@krazed0451 It’s difficult for people to see the best 4k unless they watch on a 4k device and tell youtube to show it, the normal default for youtube is 1080p , you can get 1080/60 listed but 4k is an optional setting for capable devices and internet connection.
Whoa! That was hella fast! 🫣🫨
By the way, what Husky is that?
@@agro1942 Hi Agro, It’s a last carburetor model Te300, it’s such a brilliant fun bike to ride… but hey I would ride anything except a Harley , I really rate a late 1990’s Honda Xr400 with some “Ballards offroad” fun parts bolted on, brilliant bikes for everything, old doesn’t mean bad, these bikes kicked butt back then, and will now with a good rider onboard.
Damn Raffs... that's pretty powerful. Riding with a Camera gives you something to watch in the Old people's home. Mate I'm struggling to pull the financial trigger on buying a bike (any bike, even a DRZ) but mortgage, life, kids, so many other priorities its hard to justify even $5k. Feel guilty.
Did you install the quiet db killer in the Wings exhaust or the louder one?
@@Gen-X.Adventures Hi, it’s got the twin hole db killer in it, I couldn’t stand the noise without it.
Agreed, thank you @@raffs_adv
Ct18 is harsh on paint and plastics, RL18 is just as powerfull but has an additive to protect the finishes, all the truckies gave ct18 the flick 30 years ago, chemteck came up with RL18. To get the customers back, I use it on every thing it’s brilliant, give it ago Raff.
@@PaulMckernan-l2n thanks, but I’ve got about 30Ltrs of Ct18 left, I have been using it for many years with zero paint issues, I know ct12 is really bad for Aluminum and paint

Great reveiw mate , you have all the mods i am looking at getting . With the coober ecu, does it fix the snatchy throttle ? I have tried two fuel dongles, and they both did not fix it .
To be honest, it’s way better but, I had a. 2017 701 that run better, I think the G2 throttle was a good upgrade, it’s just way smooth to use.
When i was told about weighting my outside peg, my riding got so much better.
Definitely
Did you change the front sprocket??
Yes, I went down one tooth, much better… If I was doing a long trip like desert I’d just throw the oem back on, but for normal rides it’s great now, it’ll still sit on 110kph easy
@@raffs_adv great info, thank you so much for getting back to me ✌️
Love your adventurous spirit!
Love your channel 👍
I wish I was out there on my rally
Sometimes you just have to make the time.
Just ordered some to try. Do you always just use tap pressure?
Yes, just sud it on fairly strong, wait 10-20min then hose it off.
Hill? Green?
I haven’t watched that video in ages, so I don’t have any context.
There must be endless miles of this type of forests where you're at..... like forever riding w/o having to cover the same spots except for getting in/out of the area? Pretty enticing to someone like me & a fairly flat terrain as well. I like it.
Great place
Looks fun !
what handlebar protection do you have?
Hi, I use Barkbusters, it’s a Australian company.
Been toying with going back to 15T...seems like it will solve my low speed problem.
Definitely, just run std gearing.
Got the drone going
Still got a lot of learning to do, but I’m getting better.
Are those buoys for shell racing or some other water sport? Looks like a ramp for your motorcycle has been misplaced some but I'm looking for croc's -n- stuff. Thanks for the birds eye view, always an interesting perspective. peace
Thanks 👍
Love the drone footage! Great to see a different perspective of the river. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
I’m 5-11”, 190 pounds. Do you recommend that I change the rear suspension straight away?
Hello, to your question yes definitely, the oem suspension is rubbish, If you ride slowly it will get you there, but if you want to increase your skills then you’ll need to get it done for your own safety.
Fantastic forest you have to ride in! Great video once again Raff! 😊
Thanks! 😃
Gotta tell you, watching you cut the dirt roads just allows me to be free for a few minutes here. As much as I want to buy a bike it's gonna take me another 6-8 months to get there but I'll be researching everything inside-out. And if it turns out that all I'll have is $3,000USD , I can grab the little Honda 150L dual sport & make her work out. Even that bike will allow the freedom I'd like & I'd know I have a new/solid bike that's hard to destroy. Thanks for doing these videos, it helps let me know what I'm after. peace & ride safe
Thanks for your kind words.
Lots of people make videos & all do it for their own reasons but only a few really "gel" with who I am as a human & you're one of the few sincere individuals that has whatever it is that's real to me. I feel like you're a from the heart type of person & that's worth a lot more than some kiddo doing a wheelie as he illegally splits cars going 100MPH. Go figure.... but some do that & I can't identify with them but I feel like I want to be riding down the roads as I'm watching & that's what moves me. thanks man, peace
I need to do a video on the bikes with my Mini4 Pro as well. It's pretty amazing right? Just a couple years ago, the Skydio was the only one that could fly like this little beast! That little drone makes us look much better than we should 😆
Yes, it’s a great little drone, I’m not sure it’s tracking is up there with the Maverick 3 pro or the Skydio , but it’s way cheaper to buy, it does have an issue with climbing when tracking, when it’s meant to be staying at the set altitude, hopefully a firmware update will fix that.
Where abouts in Vic are you riding in this vid. I’m a little keen on one of these 700 and was wondering if you can disable abs completely for very steep loose descents?
I’m in Central Victoria, and you can turn off the abs with a button, but it has to be in map 2 for off-road calibration, because the front wheel is still slightly active.
Love the drone follow by flight..... seeing you wheelie & watching the front end drop makes me ask if the bike is heavy in the front? How much fuel you have & the Rally version might handle the front end weight different that the 300L ? Me don't know but the Rally is still high on my list. We shall see? Did you say it wasn't legal to take the wood? I only ask because of some crazy cH!T about the USA. California has become notorious for wildfires & since the 90's have been given billions in money to cut the undergrowth but they took money & did nothing. However, when people went out trying to collect firewood which would've helped w/ the fire problems, they were ticketed ! That's how bATcH!T krazy things have become. Kalifornia is burning down but poor needy folks can't take some wood that's just gonna rot or burn? Go Figure? Nice Video work
Full tank of fuel, and yes Australians have lots of restrictions when using the Forest.
Ahh, "restrictions".... we'll skip all of that, for now. peace & be safe out there.
