uhm is it just me or is the gallop kinda asmr?
Hi 👋 there just saw your message, I’m just wondering what asmr is. Thanks
@@hockeycoach1on1 Copied from google - An autonomous sensory meridian response is a tingling sensation that usually begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. A pleasant form of paresthesia, it has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson. In simpler terms, it means a relaxing or calming sound
dam you have a crazy good seat
Thank you 🙏 very much for the kind words
I Need help with the carpal joints.
Hi 👋 there, So how can I help you?
@@hockeycoach1on1 I have a horse with a really swollen knee. Would like for you to share what actions I should take to help him recover and get back to working.
You can use a medicated poultice on the knee with ice 🧊cold water/iodine mix. Use a cotton wrap over the top of the poultice just like the lower leg treatment in the video. Cover the poultice/wrap with a pressure bandage so it helps move the fluid out of the knee joint. Will probably have to secure with tape at the base so it doesn’t slip down. No more than 12 hours maximum then remove and look and feel for heat.
Be careful not to over tighten the pressure wrap on the joint. You should still be able to get a finger behind the wrap and the no bow cotton pads. Use a 16”-18” hind leg no bow so your above & below the joint. Horse should not be allowed to run around, stall confinement is the best. So day/night at first until swelling goes down then, overnight with limited outside movement. Hand walk at first then undersaddle at the walk for no more than 15 minutes initially. When turning don’t make sharp turns , you don’t want lateral stress on the joint. Walk the horse so the stride goes foams not to the side. Depending on what’s really going on you’ll know in a few days if a vet needs to look at it. Always check for heat and monitor the swelling. Hopefully there’s not to much or any lameness in movement. You can also use 100x Osteo-Max product, I’ve had good success using it.
I love you channel! You clearly take great care of your horses, I hope one day my horses can be as well trained as yours!
Thank you 🙏 very much for your kind words, it’s really appreciated, thank you 🙏 once again
I feel sorry for those horses 🐎 in the hands of those abusers perverted depraved people...
Definitely abuse. Humans don’t know what the horses do to entertain themselves, Big licking I think is worse. What is the positions were reversed, do you think these so called sports competitions will still be around ??? NO WAY JOSE, not after the humans becomes horses n suffers the way real horses do. HUMANS ARE ROOTS OF ANIMAL ABUSE!!! 😢😢😢😢😢😭😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹 Sad really sad.
It’s not necessary to behave in a manner that degrades an animals wellbeing.
can you comment on the iodine/water combination to keep the wrap cool. Why iodine?
The iodine helps stabilize the temperature of the water for a longer period of time.
It also helps draw out inflammation and disinfects microorganisms.
The fact you weren't whiping was wholesome❤
Thank you 🙏 very much
Why would anyone whip a horse to make them stop?
@@DareBearGaming96 they’re talking about the speed
Very good question, I’ve never done that nor do I feel it’s necessary
Wow this is truly amazing! Great horse you’ve got their! :) ❤

ik this is an old video but i hope now you put back leg gear on your horse just to prevent any possible pain to the horse😊
Thanks for noticing, very kind of you to make a comment about it. 👍👍👍
@@hockeycoach1on1 ofc i’ve just seen some nasty back legs lucky not at my barn but online bc those trainers weren’t really that great
Great video! What is the name of the topical anti inflammatory you use?
A product by the name Tenda has a anti inflammatory clay poultice that works really well.
So sweet, she stands so firm while yoe educate us
Hi Courtney, yes thank you she does a very nice job making me look good. Lol 😂 she’s a real sweetheart. thank you very much for watching the video and commenting.
Yellowstone led me here
That’s absolutely fantastic to hear, Yellowstone is a great show & I too enjoy it very much. And Reining is a top level sport so enjoy it for everything it has to offer. Thank you very much for your support
A good idea for video would be to demostrate saddle cues!🏇
Hey Susan , that’s a great idea, never thought of that. Are there particular saddle cues that you and other viewers interested in.? Thank you very much
That was amazing!!! I ride a reining horse, and he got me into the sport. You look amazing and I hope my sliding stop can as wonderful as this one day!
Hi Claire, thank you very much for the complement, I wish you all the success that one can give. May your dreams come true. 🙏🙏🙏

Why do your horse slow its head too much?
Hi there, in our training we strengthen the horses back by stretching the lift through the carriage and frame. In doing this it starts building muscle to start with teaching collection. Thank you very much for the question
Hi! I’m adopting a small Belgian from a rescue...the lovely rescuer has suggested a hackamore as his last job before hitting the kill pen (he’s a healthy, sound 15 yo) was at a dude ranch...lots of her rescues suffer broken teeth and other bit injuries so I’m all for this change. I would love to see more on working with a horse switching from bit to hackemore...thanks! Loved this video!
Hi there, that's great, as you can well imagine the transfer back is very simple as the hackamore works through two handed application just like riding with a snaffle. You can also teach the horse how to go one handed with the application of your seat and legs, basically riding through the saddle. Thank you very much for the comment.
Where did you get this side pull bridal? I’m interested in one! If you could give me the link or just tell me where you got it that would be amazing!!
Hello Grace, I was shopping at an English tack shop many years ago. I do believe that it’s possible to find something suitable at a Western tack shop as well. Please pay attention to the quality of the product as not all leather is equal. Thank you very much for the question 😃
Amazing. ❤️
Thank you very much for your kindness. Also very best of luck with your channel, looking great 👍.
@@hockeycoach1on1 Thank you so much! I really appreciate the well wishes. 🙏 I'm super excited and nervous about it, but we'll see how it goes 😊
I love your gentle manner with her. We ride in a side pull and my horse honestly has never been more relaxed. Great video, subscribed ❤️
Thank you very much, I always do my best to put the horses well-being first. Your videos are very informative so keep up the good work. Thank you so much for the sub and I returned your kindness.
@@hockeycoach1on1 Oh that is so kind, thank you so much! ❤️ That really motivates me to keep going. 😃 Channels like yours are what inspired me to do my own channel so thank you, really!
Specify. It is a mechanical hackamore. Saying hackamore is too generalized. Because there is also the traditional hackamore that does not have leverage.
Thank you very much for your comment. 😃
I love side pulls..I had a national champion western pleasure mare, who I put back into a side pull as she was just too sensitive to any bit - the nose pressure worked great for her - she rode all by seat anyway - but she collected up great with the side pull with the rawhide nose band with real soft hands for a lead change or something, anything in her mouth just made her not be fully relaxed. Real shame you can't show in them - really stupid rules that way. Btw, this mare you have looks a bit off in front...and just looks touchy in front or she is an odd/stiff mover...
Hi Myron, thank you very much for your enlightening story, it’s always nice to hear what we can do to make our horses comfortable. Thanks once again. 👍😃
I have no intention on competing. I just want to be the best, most capable rider I can be. I really appreciate what you are doing. I acquired a mare a few years ago that was very uneducated. I have taken her as far as I can at this point(way better than how I got her but far from good). This motivates me because I am completely fascinated with all of the moves I see you perform. Unfortunately without training, I just can't achieve some of it. Thanks for sharing.
It takes along time to develop an understanding of principles and practices. Keep on doing your best as you have and your skills will slowly keep getting better and better. I will help you out however I can. 👍👍👍😃
@@hockeycoach1on1 I am sticking to it. Thank you for your help
I don't believe everything hear , he said a bent neck is "'rollkur"' & its bad on the spine but yet he's a 200plus pound man on a horses back
Thank you very much for your comment
Can you show more about how to use your hands with the sidewall? Also can you explain "doubling"?
Hi there, yes I can show more about using your hands with a side pull and explain doubling, I will put together a video on these topics. Thank you very much for your support Cheers
@@hockeycoach1on1 I thank you and I will put to use the techniques you share.
You can use your hands just like a basic one ring snaffle bit...side pulls are just about direct pressure with no leverage mechanisms so is about as uncomplicated as it gets. Some horses do absolutely great in them especially when they are the real sensitive types. Make sure they are fitted properly - not too low. So you can use your hands like a snaffle with the side-pull so is different from the bosal hackamore, in which you need to use your hands/ride differently. And, therefore is one of the reasons I really like them. I like the sidepulls with the rawhide noseband - you get a bit more light feel but you can still ride with very soft hands. Plain leather is good for youngsters.
