Cleaning Up the Horse and Donkey Barn!
Come with me as I clean up the barn on this cold winter day! It feels great to walk into the barn and not be greeted by this huge mess. Feel free to comment on any future videos that you'd like to see. Have a great day!

Last Night of Farm Chores for 2024!
มุมมอง 20821 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hello everyone! This year flew by! God taught me so much this year, and I'm excited to share that in a future video that I've been planning. But for now, here's a farm chore video! Thanks for stopping by! Also, I apologize for the way this was filmed. It was originally going to be a short, but it ended up too long! So, I guess this is my first long form video!

      I'm assuming you're talking about the alpacas. They make the funniest faces but I think they are so cute!😂 And they are very fluffy, so that's a bonus too!😊

    Today, on my walk with Annie, I had to stop and admire all the different flowers and plants growing along the trail. The bees were hard at work, preparing for winter! As I was walking and listening to all the different sounds, I kept thinking of Psalm 19:1, The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.

    oh my gosh how do you keep your tank free of algae???? it’s crazily clean!!

    • @Honey_Bee_Homestead
      @Honey_Bee_Homestead 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @clairebear3 Thanks! The tank is still pretty new, so the algae hasn't had much of a chance yet. But to prevent it from growing, I have a strong filter, put my light on a timer, and put lots of plants in. (Waiting for these ones to fill in, and I also got some more that I still have to plant) The plants will use up the nutrients that the algae needs to grow. I had some algae growing, but the snails have already taken care of most of it. Also, once I get fish, I'm going to be very careful not to overfeed them. My tank probably won't stay this clean for long, lol, but that's what I'm doing currently, and I hope it will keep most of the algae away. Hope this helps!

    What substrate do you recommend planted tanks?

    • @Honey_Bee_Homestead
      @Honey_Bee_Homestead 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @mistergammer8799 For this tank, I used dirt and capped it with Seachem Flourite. For this tank specifically, I used Flourite dark because I really liked the colors. This is my first time attempting a dirted tank, so I can't speak for it long term, but so far, it's going really well. If you dont want to use dirt, just gravel would work well, and then you can supplement with fertilizer tabs. Personally, I stay away from sand because I had it in my last planted tank, and I think it just compacts too much, and my plants never did well with it. But then again, I've heard others who said they've had great success with sand. I've also heard good things about Fluval Stratum, but I haven't personally used it. A lot of it is personal preference and trial and error!

    Heya! Your tank is doing beautifully! I would be on top of that pond nail as they can reproduce just by themselves and eat live plants! I've recently just introduced an apple (mystery) snail into my tank as they have separate genders and as long as you have one or the other they won't reproduce! (just be careful with the water hardness as harder waters are better for their shell! Good luck I'd love to watch you through this journey so you got a sub from me!

      @daxxorous Hey! Thank you so much! The snail has since been taken out. Unfortunately, there must’ve been some eggs on the plants because I found some more. I didn't realize they'd eat plants! I plan on getting a mystery snail or two soon. Thanks so much for the info and the sub!😊

      @@Honey_Bee_Homestead Hey bud the bladder snails will not eat living plants if you see them eating plants its because the leaf is dead and decaying they are a very good cleanup crew and a sign if the population explodes you may be overfeeding fish you can also get assassin snails as population control

    • @portercrane6655
      @portercrane6655 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Honey_Bee_Homestead Actually they only eat dying plants because they're attracted to the allellopathic compounds. Trust me, my tank is filled to the BRIM with plants and is "infested" with tadpole snails. They don't touch the plants and mostly eat algae, fish waste, and any melting leaves which is great because then you don't have to.kamually remove them
