Criminally underrated. The sound. And of course Sylvian and his inimitable vocals and always enigmatic and literary songwriting. A far cry from the pop world of 2024 - with Taylor Swift et al.

The bass in this song, even during Masami's fancier moments. *chef's kiss* Mick was fantastic at doing certain notes just before you expect them or just after. He had such fantastic timing that took things beyond the typical, while still absolutely working!

I was so very, very sad when Mick Karn passed away. I loved all the members of Japan but Mick, with that bass, was truly special. In every video where they have up close shots of him playing, I'm completely entranced. My favorite bass player of all time.

This is one of those songs where I had no idea that came out in 1973 or 2016. Those are my favorite kinds of songs.
