[VLOG] South Korea Series Part II | Spring 2023 | Jeju | Cafe hopping, Seopjikoji, Lotte Mart
Our first travel with kids! Many people would say our kids won't remember this trip but this trip was not intended for them to remember anything, but more for us to keep them as precious memories because they are only this small once. I also believe that all new experiences for them even at this young age will subconsciously shape them into the person they will be in future.
Day 2 - Jeju
Breakfast - Seogwipean Bakery
Sightseeing - Seopjikoji
Lunch - Sammu Noodles
Tea Break - Orrrn, Cafe Moumoon
Dinner - Jeju Halmang Bapsang Aewol/ Jeju Ilpum Heukdon

    hi, i have seen all your vlog on hokkaido. love it! i would like to follow your given itinerary however hope u can clarify these few questions as it would my first road trip there. I would be traveling same timing as your vlog posted😁.. 1. your itinerary seems very well covered each day, would u need a strict time table to cover all that u posted or relax travel every day? 2. did u change hotel on every day? since some maybe a distant frm each other.

      Hello, thank you for your kind words! 1. My husband and I are early birds and always want to cover lots of places wherever we go. So we do have a timetable as to how long we can stay at 1 location, but we are flexible if we decide to stay longer at that same place because we like it, and choose to miss 1 or 2 places after that were pre-planned, or shift it to another day if possible. That said, we definitely don't wake up super early and end super late. We start around 8-9am and end our day after dinner time. Whatever works for you ☺ 2. Yes we do change hotels from city to city like Lake Toya, Hakodate, Otaru, Sapporo, etc. because they are a distance from each other. I hope you enjoy your trip!!

    Hi! I’ll be heading to Hokkaido next month and this video is perfect for me to plan out my itinerary! Just 2 questions if you don’t mind me asking 1. Did you use English/Japanese to speak to the people there? I’m a little worried about the language barrier >< 2. Was it super cold when you went during autumn? I’m debating whether to bring a down jacket or a wool coat when I travel there. Thanks!

    • @thetravelinggmom617
      @thetravelinggmom617 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! City area is not too bad, they could speak some English. When we were in Lake Toya it was tougher but we used an app called Papago to help us! And it wasn’t super cold, it was cooling like aircon. Coastal area with wind will definitely be colder. I’m someone that’s more afraid of hot than cold, so my cold tolerance is higher 😄 But I don’t think a down jacket is necessary! On days that were colder I wore 2 layers, 1 inner long sleeves and 1 outer long sleeves was actually good enough for me. Hope this helps!

    Very nice video series, my wife and I really enjoyed it. May I ask is it more convenient and time efficient to rent a car than to take public transportation? We are planning to visit a few places including Sapporo and Asahikawa to see the red foliage in mid Oct.

    • @thetravelinggmom617
      @thetravelinggmom617 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thank you for your kind words! We would definitely recommend to rent a car if you are traveling around Hokkaido. Unless you’re only moving around in Sapporo then public transportation should be manageable. As for autumn foliage, we were there around mid-Oct to end Oct, and it wasn’t in full yet, so some places will probably look nicer in Nov. Nevertheless, what we saw in Oct was pretty enough for us 😄

      Hello! Their Autumn season is from Sep to Nov, but fall foliage looks best from late October to early November. Hello! Again. Am now seriously looking to book my tix to Sapporo. However, it’s a toss btw ANA or Scoot. Is there sufficient time to clear immigration, pick up luggages at Intl terminal n take the shuttle bus over to Domestic terminal for flight to Sapporo. This is my main worry. Not likely to take the red eye flight n also din want to “stress” out at the start of the holidays. Would really appreciate you sharing yr experience at Haneda terminal (or Narita). I had friends who came back from Haneda n said they waited for 4 hours before reaching the immigration at Haneda! This is during the Sakura period, where literally everyone is flocking to Japan. THANK YOU

    • @thetravelinggmom617
      @thetravelinggmom617 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! It was sufficient time for toilet break, picking up our luggage, and taking the shuttle bus. I just feel that the queue was longer than expected at domestic airport hence we were anxious if we were able to make it. However, there are staff there to take note of gate closing timing, so if your gate is closing, they will announce for you to step forward to join the priority queue. It is all in Japanese language though, so we had to sort of guess and look at the timing shown on their announcement iPad and check with them if it is our turn for priority boarding. We have not waited for 4 hours before but I’m sure if it’s during Sakura season it’s going to be very crowded. Even I am afraid of traveling to Japan during Spring because of the crowd! Both our trip to Hokkaido is based on red eye flight and during Summer and Autumn, hence we are unaware of how the crowd will be for other flight timings or even during Spring. Hope this helps!

      @thetravelinggmom617 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! We’ve been there twice and both times we were driving. Not too sure how it’s really like using public transport. But if you are mainly in Sapporo, then I think it’s fine. I did some research and noticed many other travelers commute with public transport in Sapporo and if they want to take a day trip to Furano or other nearby places, they will rent a car for that short 1-2 days. With regards to flight, we were also puzzled as to why we needed to check in and out when we traveled there but did not need to when we traveled back. We mainly chose ANA because of the 2 baggages that each of us are allowed to check in. We tend to buy a lot of stuff back hence the baggage was important for us 😄

      Hello! Overall it was good. The first time we came we rented from OTS and we wanted rent from them again but somehow they were not available anymore. Nippon Rent-A-Car was considered the cheapest among the others (Toyota/ Honda Rent-A-Car). Mileage was within 20k and the vehicle was clean. The staff was also able to communicate in English, which was a plus for us as he was able to recommend certain routes to take etc. You may consider to purchase their highway pass if you are travelling to other cities as the toll is quite expensive. The highway pass was suspended during Covid period, not sure if they have resumed it now, you can check it out!
