So… if I damaged my base by overheating it, can I just sand it or get a stone grind and I’m good, or are my skis done? Asking for a friend 😢
Where is vol 3 or „the fourthbclinic“?
I used to work for swix warehouse
Awesome video maybe the best on the internet!
Where in US are you situated ie the serviceman.
1) for cleaning before wax, should also use a steel/brass brush before pass the swix glide wax cleaner? 2) If so, any problem to use the same brush before and after? it will not be duty?
Wow, this guy really knows his stuff! Amazing knowledge. Thanks for sharing!
very good video tutorial
i got these k2 iconik skis and i check google for the manufacture set edge and one site is saying it set 1.2 base and 2 side.... 1.2 wtf?
"maybe one of your friends skis" 🤣
where the frig do i buiy one of those true edge tools?
Thank yo very much for excellent video. I have one question though. My snowboard is Capita mega merc. It has base bevel 1.5 and side the same - so it is 88.5 I decided to start to care about it myself thanks to your videos. I think I ordered all the goodies from swix. The only thing I am not happy with is the file guide. I ordered 88, but I would like 88.5 which is the default angle on my snowboard. Any advice?
First he goes tip to tail on base edge after telling the “tail follows the dog” tip, then he flips the ski over and files tail to tip…So which is it?
He was talking about the tail of the file, not the ski. Files only cut in 1 direction
Being a ski tech for 15+ seasons now , I think your missing one point with this video, that is why the ski industry places a 1 deg. On a wider or all mountain ski and a .5 or .75 on a area ski or race ski. Understanding how wide your ski is underfoot is important.
Hi Swix, thanks for the super comprehensive video series! Would you be willing to share that slideshow? I'm teaching high school students about ski tuning and would love to share the images in the slides. Thank you for considering.
Thanks so much, the only guide that tells me most things that I need to know and how to not ruin my skis
Would the Marathon wax be best for a 50km loppet xc ski race in cold conditions?
how do you clean the brushes?
I use a vacuum cleaner
Does Lf7 turn completely white over time? I just bought a 900g box of LF7 from Gear West and all the bars are completely white. They said it’s because they are a couple years old and they lost their color. I’m pretty sure I just paid $200 for universal training wax. I’m guessing I just got robbed because of the limited supply. Any thoughts?
I have a big block of 2/3 year old LF7. ITs still purple.
@@OmegahArt1 I bought some HF off of Amazon from some from some company I've never heard of, thought I'd give it a shot. So I tried it out for the Gatineau lopett. .. I think I could have waxed my skis with a candle and they would have been faster.
I was always taught to work tip to tail for everything due to maintain the base nap, Is this not necessary??
Are these presentations posted anywhere to be downloaded. Would love to be able to have the documents to referral to
Thanks for this nice guide on how to prepare skis. It is the best and most detailed on the whole you tube. I really appreciate it.
@22:29 this is making me *not* want to wax my own skis.
My dad wanted me to watch this and I thought is was gonna be really boring but it was actually super interesting
I feel like not being able to use fluoro wax takes 95% of the fun out of obsessing over your ski equipment/race prep. Like srsly. Fluoro is banned so who fucking cares anymore.
Good video but i think its a little dishonest to repeat the “better than fluoro” bs as if the whole world is stupid and we should all thank the epa for saving the lives of a few endangered birds so they can shit on our cars windshields. Nothing is going to replace the magic of fluorine. The loss of fluoro waxes from alpine and nordic racing truly is a loss for the sport.
No its not, moron. Protecting watersheds by making rules that the entire sport follows is smart policy.
Well swix has proven the non fluoral waxes to be faster than the previous fluor waxes so I dont know what you are losing here...
🤡
@@lenny42069 “endangered birds” hah You mean the water supply that every living creature on earth depends upon? 🤡 is an understatement
Good content - thanks! I like your point to do no more than 2 wax passes but have not been able to do with a harder wax like HS 5 or even 6. Any advice on ironing harder waxes?
Temp stability can help. I've read cheaper irons (under $100) can drop in temp more than you'd think, even if your waxing indoors at like 75f. If you're having this issue with that $400 star iron every world cup team uses, then I don't know what to say.
Thanks for this 👍 Most comprehensive series I have seen. Great for coaches!
i guess I am quite off topic but do anybody know of a good place to watch new series online ?
@Ty Jude flixportal xD
@Sam Sterling Thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I appreciate it!
@Ty Jude happy to help =)
Finally thanks for a Long and detail video on Non-fluoro waxes , ski room safety and other info. I wax my own skis and these upto-date videos with current fluor free waxes are needed.
