2016 Explorer sport alternator replacement 1
Diagnose check charging system warning on dash display. Check 10 amp fuse. Check 325 amp fuse. Check voltage while running at battery and at large red alternator wire. When this system receives a fault at PCM it should switch to default and charge at 13.5 volts. If alternator is bad obviously it won’t do this. Three wire connector at alternator are grey/red (10 amp fuse #93 and should light test light with key on), blue/orange (gen com pcm #13 pin), violet (Genmon pcm # 26 pin). I’ll try to upload wire diagram.

Jimmi Brown the newsboy by Bernie Chesna in Alden NY...At 87 he can still pick a decent tune. He played at a Wilkes-barre Radio Station when in younger years. They invited all local talent back then to help out with the programs. He had the pleasure of meeting and playing with many of the great names of that period. He still performs with a local bluegrass association once a month.

    I removed the 2 bolts, the bottom and top one, I removed the sensor, and the ground bolt on the side but it’s still not coming out. How did you do it ? It seems like it’s stuck on the stud on top

    This was brutal following the Ford directions , which I now know must NOT have been for the turbo model. Going to proceed with your way of taking tensioner out and getting to bottom bolt that way. Ridiculous we’re doing this on less than 5 yr old cars .

      Sorry, thought I would add a little info which was to access through the wheel well. I didn’t see any videos before I started the job. Good luck.

    • @stuemany
      @stuemany 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are some bolts the you can’t get at. Make sure it’s your alternator beforehand. Did you unplug it and check for charge. It goes into default charge when unplugged. Also check your fuses.

    Why didn't you record what you did as you did it?

  • @alanhassall

    I don't jack the bike up or loosen the pinch bolts until I loosen the bolt in the end of the axle. That way I can put more weight on it. I also leave the bolt partially threaded into the axle to push it out of the fork. My bike has a little bit of corrosion on the axle when I removed the axle. I fall of 2019 and it had been neglected. Upon reassembly, the axle was cleaned up and a light coating of grease was applied. I torque when the wheel is on the ground and bounce the fork up and down before tightening the pinch bolts to ensure that the forks are aligned.

  • @alanhassall
    @alanhassall 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I removed the front fender to avoid lifting the bike too far. It was a bit of a challenge getting the fender back on because the threaded, metal inserts kept wanting to come out. I ended up using strips of masking tape that was long enough to remove once mounted.

    Ty for the video. Are you just lifting the bike with a Jack on the metal sump ? Do you have any wood under there ? Is it safe to lift it there is could you damage the sump tray.

    • @stuemany

      You can use wood. That is a pretty sturdy sump.
