Yes, this is an 8wt. The fly I’m throwing/casting is heavy so an 8wt makes it easier to cast, and 0x tippet. And always hoping for the 28+ 🙂

The river is never mentioned by name, so nothing given up. The only people who know what river this is are those who fish it. And this river is on the DNR app which is how I found it, not social media.

You and me both! I'm hoping this rain that came through, and should be still up there today is helping calm this raging fire. It would be really sad to see this river and fish hurt by the fire! Little concerned about next year run off also and what that will bring down the river without the vegetation. Hmmm...I was thinking I'm fishing a lot of rivers, different rivers, but maybe from you comment I'm not as much as I thought. This section is my favorite section of this river so when I drive I like to go where I know good fish are to catch. Thanks for the thought.

I'm currently using a low end Scientific Angler floating line I purchased on clearance. I don't remember the name of it. The floating line I like the most that I have used is Orvis's Bank Shot. I'd recommend that one. In this video I'm euro nymphing and I'm not using any floating line, just the euro fly line.

@@familyflyties3913 if you go up on the Stillwater fork stay away from all the campgrounds and such. There's some big fish in there. I found something out about Browns.You have a few days of good light before and after full moon. Bigger bugs. Mouse imitation. Bang, you're into one. Stay easy breezy and Frosty.

The flies used are in the video shown around 1 minute into the video. The flies that were catching were the Prism Torch, OP Prism Torch, Cheat Code, Olive Nymph, Natural Perdigon, and the Gray Mayfly emerger.

This was the beginning of September when things started to cool down a little.

Yes, this is Brahma hen hackle. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find anyone with this particular style of hackle. I spoke with a Fly Shop in California who had Olive and Orange, but not the March Brown and they said they hadn't seen these in stock for over a year. I use a Whiting Farms soft hackle now that is similar looking to Brahma Hen.

Definitely worth the trip! One of the best waters in Utah to fish.

I have not tried it yet. The Green River was the first time trying this fly out. I’ll be trying it on other bodies of water also.
