The music must be shared and the music must be heard.
Live masters, low generation copies of other tapers' masters, and rare/previously uncirculated recordings.
I am always looking for recordings of Six Finger Satellite, Sleepers, Minimal Man, Factrix, American Music Club/Mark Eitzel, 15-60-75 (The Numbers Band), the Mr. Stress Blues Band, and Jimmy Ley I do not have. Talk to me: timothy.archer.666@gmail.com.
"Most of what Eldritch did - or does, if you prefer to regard it that way - consists of manufacturing surface changes: he makes things appear the way he wants, but that doesn’t mean they are. Follow me?” - Philip K. Dick/The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch (1964)
Thanks for listening!
Avatars:
- Peter Laughner, age 17, Bay Village, OH, 1969 or 1970.
- Edward, master hacker.

Great show, by the sounds of it. I wonder what the wiseguys made of it. Oh, come on, Providence? You break wind in Rhode Island, the mob wanna cut.
😂 Nah, it's not as mobbed up as one would think, despite Mayor Buddy cutting that sweet deal where in exchange for not going after them, they rebuilt his downtown (beautifully). Always great and knowledgeable audiences in Providence, which is a rare chunk of beautiful in this world. According to Greg Kay who taped it, the room was about 1/3 full.
@ my knowledge is limited to George Higgins Boston novels where if someone arrives from down there in providence, it’s never good news for someone else.
I remember
Saw WoP at Bradford University around 1982/83. Very tight band and completely underrated. Music and sound are still relevant today. Came across their LP today after being in the loft with the rest of the record collection for the best part of 40 years. My daughter has just discovered them and the other music from the 70s and 80s on vinyl! She can't believe her ears.
Cheers! I had no idea and just discovered that WoP guitarist Ian Hatton later played in Bonham!?!?!
Such a great concert, thanks! ❤ A question, do you have the Blancmange concert from December 17th?
Hi! Thanks! I checked with benno and he does not. He did not tape many concerts, but what he did is killer.
@@PalmerEldritch23 Oh, don't worry, thanks for the answer! ❤
@@joaquindominguez1526 Of course!
they cut a lot of this story from the vinyl release. he lived a particular violent and fragile life, which sadly would be the end of the him. a shame too, as with what he'd learned he was a multi faceted talent. his work and books are fast becoming forgotten and expensive artefacts now (I discovered him last year) but deep diving him was one of my highlights of 2024
@@keironhiggspoet I have not seen the documentary but I do wish someone like the late, great Seattle writer/journalist Charles R. Cross (gone way too soon) had done an extensive biography on Jesse.
@@PalmerEldritch23 according to the last book Larry Reid produced, there is supposed to be a autobiography published. its not come to surface. if you can find (or ask larry, like I did) do get a copy of his collected poetry work "come out tonight" its a great read into his often creative nd troubled mind
May I download this somewhere?
@@titanicf0g Not at the moment but if you drop me an email to the one listed in "About" I'll get you the file when I can
@ Will do, thank you!
I guess this album will stay in the can. It's a shame that there seem to be no support of an official release.
A new transfer of the master tapes has been made and Tom has given full approval for a release. Smog Veil likely would have done it had they not ceased operations in 2020.
proper nice
my favorite era!! They were so full of raw and ragged energy! Saw them on this tour, been a fan ever since!!
Rob Reinhart! I love glib interviewers! Yeah! Don't kill yourself!
I really like this...reminds my a bit of IN THE NURSERY and COIL. Odd that it flies under the radar like it does.
I love all of Graham's (as well as Bruce Gilbert's and most of Colin Newman's) solo stuff - including He Said, He Said Omala, HALO, Edvard Graham Lewis, pre<HE, etc. - and a good deal of his collaborations. Everything he did with Bruce is pretty sick.
They had the good taste to do venus in furs, respect
Rock on BR
What a joy to hear - I played a Fender Rhodes piano with the band at this concert, and had no idea that the concert was recorded. We had developed a different sound from Chicago blues by that time, and its wonderful to hear it again. Thanks! Tom Skove

@@PalmerEldritch23 Do you by any chance have a copy of the Probe tape? Nobody seems to have a copy of it floating online. Also there's a show from like 91 where it has a rehearsal and it was a song I never heard before that I liked and someone mentioned it was called "Pygmy Holocaust". Do you have a competent recording of this? Thanks again for all your hard work to archive this stuff.
@@PiIsARationalThe Probe tape is supposed to be released by Armageddon Records at some point soon. Apparently it's ready to go, it just needs the covers finished. "Pygmy Holocaust" - I'll ask J and Rick!
@@PalmerEldritch23 Thanks. I actually have talked to them a couple of times on the 6FS FB group but it's been a couple of years. I need to get on there and ask... because I was going through Load Records discography recently and came across Von Ryan Express which claims it had J in there at one point but I haven't seen anything definitively saying as such. However there is similarities in the sound and Dan St. Jacques is/was involved at some stage. A lot of stuff in Providence has some degree of separation to 6FS and Landed. Both excellent bands.
@@hondamatictwinsVon Ryan's Express became Thee Hydrogen Terrors when drummer and J's brother John Von Ryan left and was replaced by ex-Boss Fuel drummer Nick Atocha. The recording I posted of THT was actually Dan's last show. He formed Landed - originally known as Land - soon after. Dan and John Von Ryan with various guests and later, Adam Autrey, were already doing Olneyville Sound System.

Excellent, I heard parts of this on Tape in a Record shop that Peter worked at, just playing in the background. I asked him "who is this"? And he said "my new band". I asked, "Can I buy it," he said "No". lol.
Hahahaha typical fucking Peter. I was out of the band two years by this point, though we did some of these songs while I was still there. Dug vastly improved "Go Stag" with his own bass line, as mine was kinda lame (check the 1997 demo). They were a much better band without me, but the apathy accorded the group was deafening.
I use to talk to Peter at Copy Cop when I was doing my Band Flyers, Bent Men, Brain Ticket etc. We actually talked about getting together, but never did. I'm sure I wouldn't have cut it. I so love Burma. But I never forgot about that day I heard the Peer Group Tape in the store. I use to go to Volcano Suns gigs often, my fav was when they gigged with Christmas. Man there is nothing like that anymore. I sub'd so I'm going to check out your other recordings.
