Well done boys. Your efforts are recognized and you did a fantastic job. Meh, a few things but there was way more good than the few.... Great job. Be proud of yourself, and the uniform that you wear. It represents the best part of our home. Young, focused, driven, American men. It would be nice to see some diversity! But damn great job!
Lot of issues with this performance. For one, they do not fall in at close interval, but for some reason they come together after forward march. They do the adverse whenever they halt. Unauthorized. Whenever they go to mark time or half step their speed increases dramatically. The speed needs to be constant without fluctuation. The stomping needs to stop as well. They seem to be marching irregularly, almost as if they are taking a small stride with their right foot, then overly extenuating their left foot. The left rifle guard should remain stand fast when the command "order" is given. He executes his movement on the command "arms", same as the other guard. Both guards have differing angles when at opposite shoulders. To eliminate this issue, both need to insure their arms are making a 90 degree angle, with the forearm being parallel with the marching surface. All members need to insure their left arm (right arm for left guard) is perfectly straight down, with no bend at the elbow. Other than that the team was sharp. I didn't notice until watching a second time that the Navy flag bearer missed his harness when going to present but continued as if nothing was wrong. Great bearing.
Gage Fontenot - there are many marine corps orders that fall in ROTC some schools have different things. Yes somethings are cringe because you never done them but they would probably think yours is cringe
Your mark time should be slightly the same as your regular pace marching and your commands don't have any prep or exect. Command so like left ..... TURN not leftturn
Ok so I'm also in NJROTC and I'm also in the varsity color guard at Hamilton High, the performance was nicely done, you guys also got some work to do, in the beginning when an order arms was called, the left riflemen went up and grabbed the rifle before the exception command "arms" was called, which is not allowed, although you guys might do something different then us. Also you guys were wearing your ribbons and angulates, which it states in the drill manual you are not allowed to wear those in a color guard, and I don't know if this was a practice or if it was at a comp. but if it was at a competition then you guys would have lost some points, but besides that, I enjoyed your guys' performance.
but last time i check the marine corps order 5060.20 with change 1 and the NJROTC cadet field manual, which most NJROTC units use to drill with doesn't allow the grabbing of the rifle before the the command of execution is given
no, ranks, cords, and ribbons are there to show that they are fit to be color guard. My school we do drill comps for color guard in dress blue's not service khaki
As a current Army JROTC Color Guard Commander, that was beautiful! Even at the end when you called them to carry colors and he missed, he kept going as if it was planned. I only hope my color guard can be that precise
We practiced just us 4 for weeks on end. Myself (commander) and the navy flag would practice in the classroom to get the timing down as close as we could.
For anyone watching this video we got first place overall. The two rifleman are currently in the Marines "one stationed in Spain one in Japan". The commander *me* is currently awaiting to leave for the Navy as a Navy Diver. The Navy Flag is going through his last bit of work to join the Navy.
@Tyler I spent 4 years in the navy being an Aviation Electrician, last minute change from the navy diver, currently going to school using the GI for electrical engineering. The two rifles both spent 4 years each in the Marines, I believe both are using the GI bill as well, but i am not entirely sure what they are up to nowadays.
@TylerMost large commands will have their own color guard, or the base itself will have one. My command had a color guard and when I got there they needed a rifleman so I volunteered. Once you get to your command just ask around and see if anyone has a connection to one. I highly recommend it! It came with some awesome perks and I got to meet some very high ranking officers and enlisted personnel during my time.
Yall already look like military men. Good job.
Thanks for the video. Really needed the info for Color Guard in a few days.
Seaford Long Island ?
Thanks for sharing
They mark-time too fast

Ahhh! This was amazing I’m the color guard and drill team commander and this video is our exact card for CG! This is so helpful amazing!
this is helpful
Proud of young men.
1:19 *i just needed this for practice I have try out tomorrow*
Colors reverse is easy.
I wouldn’t make the stomping so apparent
Not bad 9.9/10
no facing movements while holding a flag but amazing
Yes you can. If you're at port, arms, or in this case, port, colors.
Maury high schools way better
what is the navy flag for
Dang, my navy jrotc does this completely differently if u search up "colorguard team 2 2/24/18" you'll get a video of my teams performance
What is the command when ur facing forward then you would switch position while marching to face at the back?
Countermarch, march
beautiful
5:10 perfect bearing! He knows he didn't put it in the flag holder yet he makes no secondary movements! That is amazing!
I wanted to yell at the end when they started swinging their arms at the very end 😩other said than that they look really good
When your commander salutes while doing present colors as your marching 😧
This color Guard is actually done right! I know of the civil air patrol new mexico director of cadet programs.
South Lakes HS is the best
the guy next to the navy flag looks like jake paul
Our school don't have strap on's like that 😝
thought i was the only one to call em that
At 5:09 the unit flag missed the cup, but still kept his bearing, nice job👍🏻!!!
During the cut command, he should’ve quickly placed the flag into the cup
MrScrubNuggetz really? That’s how I’ve learned it. Rip

Pikachulover 718 I don't really know what you're talking about. Nothing about this was cringe worthy. Simply there were some errors.
dang mhs NJROTC uses left wheel etc
c ze ???
My daughter is in jrotc and she really wants to do color guard so she doing it when school starts I think she will love it!:)
Why don't they use arm swing
For njrotc, they don't arm swing at all for any type of colorguard
Kind of mad since San Francisco won't let us use rifles for our drills
+angelo cabildo That sucks, that takes away a lot of good opportunity.
Come to the East Bay or Sac
Like actually?
Im in la area and we have the m1s we can use but they are in bad shape
Your mark time should be slightly the same as your regular pace marching and your commands don't have any prep or exect. Command so like left ..... TURN not leftturn
Walter Requeno it’s left turn
No it’s leftturn....march
I'm in mcjrotc and when we go to comps and drill ir whatever I thought if u March with a rifle u go to port arms?
Every Branch of JROTC does something different. And this is Color Guard, so they do different stuff then usual

Good effort, still a lot of work to be done.

forgive my spelling errors.
in some rotcs they allow the grabbing of the rifle. In my NJROTC they allow it

Kinda late on this response, but yes it was. 2011-2012 school year.
Y did the U.S. Guard swing his arms but not the state flag at the end other than that beautiful work fellas
Bradley Yaeger It was a mistake. He shouldnt of swung his arm at all
Nicely done.
Congratulations! This was absolutely outstanding, I wish you all the best.
Thank you very much. It took alot of work to get to the level where we competed at but it was well worth it.
That looked very snazzy. Absolutely beautiful! Just what I was looking for! Great job!
Thank you very much!
You are very welcome! Keep up the great work!

chris michel thanks for your service! And that of the rifleman!

@Tyler I personally did color guard for my command for 2.5 years. It was a great choice that came with some awesome perks. What rate did you choose?
@TylerMost large commands will have their own color guard, or the base itself will have one. My command had a color guard and when I got there they needed a rifleman so I volunteered.
